<15> flummoxed, The one thing I can tell you is that the scsi/sata naming confusion is normal. As far as the partitioning, it involves lvm and stuff, which I've never tried, so can't really help you there. Also, when you're not getting an answer, wait a while (I've been told >= 8 minutes), since someone who knows may have joined since you asked last.
