<3> lomtik, that explains it, you don't have permission ;) There are some scripts available to run nautilus windows as root, or preferrably, you could change the permissions on those files so you can access them. Or simply sudo whatever you need to do

<26> LjL: I found the problem with the packages. Apparently, Ubuntu does not support emacs. It is only available if you enable the Universe repository, which I don't normally enable.
