<2> orbin, masking in gentoo allows you to specify range of versions that is allowed to be installed on your machine. you can override range of packages, even the ones to be released in the future for next level of distro.

<6> DonL: :) i like xfce, but it looks horrible on screens that can't go higher than 1024x768 imo. everything's too big. gnome lets you shrink a lot of stuff down
