<0> tristanmike: so when i go to run a .mov, it will open using t-xine?
<1> Yes. mplayer-386
<2> adventchild: it should....but .mov are part of the w32codecs iirc
<3> tristanmike: libquicktime covers .mov
<1> _jason: I used mplayer-386
<0> tristanmike: i am using totem right now and there is no audio... but totem opened when i opened the .mov file... i installed the w32codecs...
<4> tritium: Are you back, or should I get back to you when you're done de-voicing people?
<5> abuchbinder: if we can chat later, that would be great. Sorry
<2> adventchild: I've had a problem like that with one .mov file, and vlc played the sound...I synced the two together to watch it :P, but then I installed mplayer and it played it fine..so
<4> tritium: No problem; I'll ping you again in an hour or so.
<5> abuchbinder: okay
<0> tristanmike: so i should do.... im new to linux... dont know much at all
<6> Cooner750: ok well what seems to be happening is that plf is correctly using the new location for the codecs but mplayer isn't seeing them. This *should* fix you up: sudo rmdir /usr/lib/win32 && sudo ln -s /usr/lib/codecs /usr/lib/win32
<2> adventchild: sure mplayer is great
<7> i dont know why i try to use that experimental distros :) back to my ond and good gentoo.
<2> adventchild: just do this..."sudo apt-get install mozilla-mplayer" that will take care of it for you

<8> well thanks all, going to call it a night, will try again tomorrow :)
<2> good night kevin
<0> tristanmike: ty
<2> adventchild: np
<9> hi

<6> Cooner750: 8200, should be similar
<6> conn: ^
<9> i wanted to know how to insert an ASCII code with ubuntu... I tried to type [Alt]+152 (for ex.) but it doesn't work...
<1> I do a test on ESD and nothing happens now. It appears to work but no sound
<11> how do i burn an audio dvd in ubuntu? dvds +cds are both iso9660 so its possible in theory
<12> what distro does linus torvalds use?
<6> Cooner750: do you have anything playing sound?
<10> _jason: I have a very specific prob, but just in case.. are your page up/down keys working?
<6> conn: yes
<10> ok, thx
<13> vladuz976: Maybe Windows :P
<9> can anyone help me?
<9> i wanted to know how to insert an ASCII code with ubuntu... I tried to type [Alt]+152 (for ex.) but it doesn't work...
<1> No. Mplayer was before it crashed and I had to Force Quit it. Should I reboot?
<14> Nihil85: gucharmap
<12> scorchsaber: yeah and i am wondering if bill gates might be using linux
<15> can someone help?
<6> Cooner750: that would be the quickest way probably, but we can fish around if you prefer
<1> Well. I have to go. At least I know the video works now :)
<15> how do I install ndsiwrapper?
<9> wvelez, what's gucharmap?
<13> vladuz976: :D
<2> swalchy: "sudo apt-get install ndsiwrapper" iirc
<6> Cooner750: so that link fixed up the video?
<14> Nihil85: gucharmap...so you can use different characters...
<13> vladuz976: Always watch the competition, eh?
<0> tristanmike: how would i go about uninstalling all the other stuff i put on here? like totem-xine? and the codecs that i installed, do i still need them for mplayer?
<1> Yea. thanks :)
<1> I'll have to make note of those
<12> scorchsaber: i guess. but i wouldn'
<15> do that in terminal do I mike?
<9> wvelez, i will try to find the same in my language, thanks
<6> Cooner750: more recent packages of mplayer should find that directory with no problem
<12> scorchsaber: i wouldn't be surprised if he really played around with linux at home, for fun
<13> vladuz976: Somehow I doubt it, but maybe that'
<14> Nihil85: gucharmap is installed by default in breezy
<13> shoot
<13> maybe that's just me
<16> benchmarks & performance: how benchmarks **** for gauging performance. http://kbrooks.ath.cx/?p=34
<17> adventchild: i'd leave it if you ask me. totem's actually pretty nice. search the forum, there's proabbly one small audio codec you're missing.
<9> wvelez, i can't find that gucharmap in my breezy
<18> Seveas: can I /msg you?
<19> uh oh. do you have to be in the group sudo to sudo? what if you accidently got rid of all your groups (by not appending with usermod) and so now you can't sudo to add yourself back to the group?
<20> hey how is it going?
