<20> I've just installed Ubuntu (Dapper) on an IBM T22 laptop. My problem is this: On boot it hangs at a console cursor before GDM. I get the "Question" sound, and can enter my user and p***, and it starts to play the startup sound but hangs. If I then shut off the laptop and reboot it comes up fine, but any time I cold boot this happens.

<20> If you're using a bcm43xx chipset there could be a problem with the firmware. I had issues setting mine up, and had to manually extract the firmware from the windows driver using fwcutter, then copy the files to /lib/firmware
