<21> I downloaded and installed Ubuntu yesterday. After I installed the desktop, I had 23 updates waiting for me. I installed the updates and it said I should reboot as soon as possible because one of the updates was a new kernal. So I did and I go back to the desktop I got an internal error mesg.: "Unable to initialize HAL." I ran the old kernal and the same thing. I reinstalled HAL and the same thing.

<27> Hey there, so im sitting in front (er beside) a fresh ububtu install on Athlon64 3200+ and nVidia 430/410 chipset and msi motherboard. with noacpi I have gotten the primary instll done but xserver wont start. it says blah blah GLCore blah no symbols. dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg has not yet helped any
