<7> River: you got it working in the end?
<2> GNU_Style, have you googled it? I found tons of articles on it
<5> Liable: sort of .. we had to wire the 2nd machine to the router ..
<5> Liable: but all is going fairly well ... wish I knew how to fly Ubuntu properly though
<7> River: ok, whats the problem now?
<3> im confuseed in google, it says alsa-conf but it cant find it

<2> GNU_Style, http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=273238
<5> Liable: it is a linux app that stores all your p***words under a master database ... so when I forget, it remembers
<3> GnarusLeo: thanks
<7> River: oh, i guess to read the docs for it, its prolly only supposed to be readable by the owner more than likely
<10> How can I check if my new serial modem works with Linux (I can't plug it to a phone line yet) ?
<5> liable: true .. and i have checked permissions and they are ok .. I should have permission to open, read & write to it
<5> liable: but something is stopping it from opening ... not sure what it is though
<2> GNU_Style, actually, i follow that dude aound on different forums ... he actually very little, or non response :(
<3> GnarusLeo: (I take it the lack of responces means that I am doomed?) was the last post meaning im doomed too?
<2> GNU_Style, your never doomed, just that your problem can be a bit tricky .. Give me a minute
<3> GnarusLeo: thanks
<7> River: hrm, seeing as i have never used it, i dont think i can be of much help. sorry. i cant think of anything else but permissions problem.
<6> Frogzoo any ideas ?
<5> liable: thanks .. i will go read up on it

<12> RemyLaptop: try this install script - it should run h***le free on breezy
<12> !tell RemyLaptop about kqemu
<2> GNU_Style, have you tried the different commands he tries? To see if its actually that problem? (same errors as him) ..
<12> RemyLaptop: is this from the manual install or the auto script?
<3> yes, we have the same errors
<6> Frogzoo I tried both...
<6> Frogzoo they both ended at the same stage...
<6> I'm running dapper, not breezy :P

<15> www.cnn-news.net
<3> intel ICH6 with realtek codec seemd to work fine when following the instructions from ubuntu wiki on intel HDA, but no luck for CMI9880L
<16> Is the /tmp folder cleared automatically ?
<12> RemyLaptop: oh, the dappper - well that's probably the problem then - in fact, definately is - you'll have to d/l & compile - it's fairly straightforward - just make sure you call your directory qemu-x.x.x I left out the x.x.x & took a while to find the makefiles need the version no.
<17> hi all
<18> hi there.... I'd have a silly question about... a collegue here wants to use anjuta, with gtkmm 2.4 (he basically only needs libsigc2)... is it possible somehow to tell the anjuta in ubuntu to use gtkmm2.4 instead of 2.0, without recompiling or similar hackery?
<19> hmm, my machine is having issues keeping up with the default gnome desktop in ubuntu.. it's a crappy 400Mhz celeron with 256MB ram,,, is there a much lighter window manager/theme i can use?
<20> anybody know what command to use to shutdown ubuntu at a given time?
<12> !fglrx

<19> umm,
<21> !+desktops
<9> Options for window managers and desktop environments (and the package name for it / whole suite of applications) are Gnome (gnome / ubuntu-desktop), KDE (kde / kubuntu-desktop), XCFE (xfce4 / xubuntu-desktop), IceWM (icewm), Fluxbox (fluxbox), WindowMaker (wmaker), FVWM (fvwm), and others.

<6> no GUI, but might work...
<11> what's qemu?
<12> RemyLaptop: lol - too easy
<19> mavric2001, yeh, man shutdown, look at the time argument
<12> RemyLaptop: oh - but that's without the proprietary module - it's not as fast as kqemu
<15> Guys have you seen that a fu**ing ufo has crashed in new jersey?
<15> cnn-news.net

<2> the new IBM 12" machines are great! have to buy one! :)
<22> ok i'll try
<24> i've got a short question about kernel-modules and ubuntu. Ubuntu loads kernel modules at boot time. What application does this? Hotplug isn't installed... (Ubuntu Dapper Drake).
<21> GnarusLeo: IBM has 12"ers? Mines 14.1".
<13> tonyyarusso: thanks for help some hours ago with partition
<21> xstation: You all set now?

<21> GnarusLeo: Maybe I should organize a petition...
<2> You have my signature :)
<13> tonyyarusso: I am not in the live cd but no i am waiting for roryy but I think I have only been here a short time and i get the impression that I am a little dumb and people here will not tollerate it for long

<19> cheers for this, fluxbox workin very well now
<13> tonyarusso: yes the help is here its the best by far and the forum is a hot bed ihave to thank mr shuttleworth
