<27> LucianAccendus: here in debian i just 'sudo apt-get install ardour-gtk' and that pulls down all the necessary bits and pieces. one thing to bear in mind is that it uses the Jack Connection Kit, enabling you to pipe the output of one jack-capable audio application into another. very nice.
