<19> Albertop: any nick i choose happens to be owned and I dont remember which i registered and what my p***word was :( pathetic <17> tuxipuxi: upgrade usually breaks stuff, better fresh install <4> bulent_ok, join #albertop <18> phalanx: a fresh install is not really fun on a server which may not be down for long <17> tuxipuxi: upgrade neither <17> tuxipuxi: if it's such a critical box better leave it on 9.3 <15> if its critical, dont touch it unless you need <10> has anyone experienced knetworkmanager not storing WPA-PSK p***words between reboots <20> when making a user profile to build rpm what groups are useful/needed to ***ign to that user profile <15> dont mention its name <10> in 10.1 that is <15> dont look at <18> well it's not that critical, it's my mail/web server but at the same time used for testing stuff for which i would like to have newer software (e.g. gcc 4 etc.). i need the mail server all day and also http and the data center doesn't offer 10.0/10.1 as an image, so it's a tricky situation ;) <18> it would also be acceptable for me to upgrade software one by one given that yast takes care of the dependencies <21> who is smorris? :) <12> like a s'more i guess <9> scott morris, he's running a suse blog <17> tuxipuxi: just use YOU <22> when I killed my comp the other day and I reinstalled everything I accidentally deleted the wine directories. now I've tried re-installing wine but it doesn't seem to create new directories and windows type structure. does anyone know how to install wine fully again? <7> yast -i wine? <18> phalanx: you mean the online update tool provided by yast? this would do a full upgrade ***uming that i have a mirror in the sources list, no? <17> tuxipuxi: you updates ... does not upgrade <22> the_dude: but will this put all the structure back, cos it doesn't do that in yast through the gui, if I navigate to home/jonah/.wine there is nothing there <18> phalanx: it does not upgrade, what does it do then? <7> run winecfg i think <12> updates <17> tuxipuxi: UPDATE <17> tuxipuxi: use your eyes to read <12> Yast Online Update = YOU <18> update what? if i specify a mirror containing 10.1 packages, will it update *all* packages or what will it do? <7> UP****INGDATE <22> the_dude: ok I'll try that thanks <18> i am able to read, so don't blame it on me <12> it is you <17> blood pressure starts to rise <18> you're not answering my question <12> go away <15> tuxipuxi, YOU is only supposed for bugfix/security updates <17> tuxipuxi: UPDATE is renewing existing packages with fixes <17> tuxipuxi: UPGRADE is installing new system <18> i asked you how i can e.g. install gcc 4 on my suse 9.3 system, your answer was "just use YOU".. who's the one having problems with reading here? <22> the_dude: no it still doesn't work and I can't run anything. I don't know why it's not re-installing all the folders etc that wine needs <17> ok ... <12> no need to get hostile tuxi <15> !search gcc <0> Matching factoids: gcc; gcc32; <15> !gcc <0> ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/projects/gcc <2> !gcc32 <0> to compile 32bit apps on a 64bit system look at http://www-uxsup.csx.cam.ac.uk/pub/doc/suse/suse9.3/suselinux-adminguide_en/sec.64bit.biarch.html <2> ? <17> intsalling gcc4 on a critical box <15> tuxipuxi, maybe there are packages there <2> uh <2> just -m32 <17> ppl are getting more insane every day <7> :) <23> Hi, today I've installed 10.1 over a 10.0 on a Siemens-Fujitsu Lifebook. Installation went fine, however on reboot grub shows a text screen where I can't input text as the keyboard produces only weird characters. Has anybody seen that before and can give me a hint? <17> most likely the critical server is a mere lame donkey pr0n ****er <18> phalanx: in what way are postfix and apache affected by a new compiler binary in /usr/bin? fail to see that <18> aka_druid: thank you <12> haha <23> Hi, today I've installed 10.1 over a 10.0 on a Siemens-Fujitsu Lifebook. Has anybody seen that before and can give me a hint? <17> agungl: set right keyboard type <17> agungl: reboot from dvd and fix <7> run repair from cd/dvd <18> interesting to see that some people just hang out in a support channel to calm down by insulting people who ask for help. <23> phalanx: Hm, I'm sure I've set it correctly in the installer. So how do I do that after booting from CD (I can bring up the system via CD and it runs quite fine, just the boot fails.)
