<0> nagulator: but anyway everyone on his own :) <1> but it makes no differnce bad code in c or bad code in c++ <2> fgordon: oh boy..... no use talking right? <0> i can't stand KDE's interfaces, so I use gnome and gtk+ <3> ahh .. well I had to input the correct data for mine, and it works ! toiling in 10.0 paid off <0> :P <2> i-nZ: for the same bad code in C and C++, C++ is less forgiving because of the overhead added for each mistake you do <2> oops <2> that was for fgordon <2> :P <1> if you produce bad / slow code it makes no differnce what language you use <1> so it makes no sense talking about this <2> fgordon <1> what matters is the difference in optimal code <2> on the same bad code, C++ is less forgiving <4> C++ is a daughter of C isn't it?
<2> that is, you get more overhead <2> twosouls82: google cfront <1> hmmm maybe but not on logical problems in the code <5> hi. I'm trying to build an opensuse dvd from the 5cd set available for downloading. I'm following this guide http://en.opensuse.org/Making_a_DVD_from_CDs#Manually_build_a_DVD_from_the_CD-Set but as I'm on a winxp box, when I get to the part when it is needed to re-create the package description trouble comes my way because I cannot perform unix based commands on a windows box. Any hints? <1> if it comes to "optimal" coding c is faster than c++ <4> zePh7r, what command do you mean? <5> twosouls82, "create_package_descr -x setup/descr/EXTRA_PROV -l english -l spanish -l french -l german -l czech -l hungarian -l italian" <4> zePh7r, /quote "create_package_descr. This is a perl script and is written specifically for SUSE for this purpose" <0> I am very confused nowadays. I just bounce from C# to C and back <4> zePh7r, here you go; http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=146800&package_id=163260 <1> but c++ I think makes it easier to progrm good code when it comes to bigger projects <5> twosouls82, thanks for the help <1> and C# is even better at this <4> fgordon, that;s why I use C++ <4> zePh7r, good luck <4> zePh7r, the page tells you what you need on windows too <6> wow, I hope it's because everything is run for the first time again, but upgrading to 10.1 killed the zippy joy out of my 'puter <4> it only doesn't mention Windows <6> everything soo craaaaawwwwwlls <0> i think the language doesn't really matter <0> and the gui library too <0> after all gui is just... gui :P <4> Nomad411, did an upgrade instead of a clean install? <6> yes <0> it's far more important what the actual code is <5> twosouls82, under wich section? <4> Nomad411, reinstall, worked here <6> twosouls82: figured I'd try that first <3> the problem with Linux is that those who make it , pay too much attention to tech and not UI. and by that make the whole effort into a training in programming. <6> Oh it works, it,s just much slower.. Maybe I'll need some updates <3> and by UI i mean , making it usable to everyday user <6> twosouls82: and I lost a few packages along the way, like vlc.. <3> it just takes so much to set it up <6> twosouls82: Do I have to set up the sources again? <4> Nomad411, true... upgrade isn't that good at all, and should be removed for the next release or improved dramatically <4> Nomad411, yep.. everthing <3> even the lack of links to the community from the end desktop of setup , shows that <4> Nomad411, back up your home data first and everthing else <6> for a fresh install you mean? <7> more superfast seeds needed for 10.1 download via torrent :) <4> zePh7r, I guess you can compile the apps under Programs youself on Windows too <6> !yast <8> Rumour has it yast is ****ing slow now <3> and of course, not paying attention to what a noob like me says :D <1> *g* I'm using ftp foe 10.1 <1> for <4> Nomad411, a fresh install means from the start <6> I know :) <6> twosouls82: Oh I missed your comment earlier. Did you upgrade and then had to reinstall? <4> :) <4> upgraded, reinstalled with home, reinstalled without home <4> and the rest of 10.1 too <9> Howdy <10> Help.. How do I add back my install cd/dvd into yast ? <3> BluesKai: heya <4> _william, under "Installation Source" <3> BluesKai: how u doing ? <11> just converted the 5cd isos to DVD and started burning

(using the mini iso to boot) <1> @Ancient1 is your X running ? <9> I hvew 10.1 installed ...looking for a movie burner oe Decss to add the capability <9> or <6> twosouls82: The sources shown all have 10.0 in their titles, should they be changed to 10.1 to be added into yast? <10> yes... it's a dvd via vmware <4> Nomad411, on some mirrors that will do, some don't even yet have 10.1 <6> ahhh <4> and on some the urls got changed somehow <3> yesss :) i was certain u saw my report .. it was xorg.conf (startx err msg) so i cp the backup file <6> and is it a good idea to add the 10.0 or should I just wait? <4> Nomad411, no 10.0 anymore ;) <6> ok <6> thank you very much <12> can anybody? <4> yw :) <6> Still sleeping here :) <3> fgordon: got that ? <1> @Ancient1 yes :-) <9> K3b won't burn protected movies ...want to find the Nero equivalent if possible , any suggestions ? <10> twosouls82: yes... it's a dvd via vmware <4> _william, maybe it is VMware who is bugging you? <1> just was working on my server and didn't read all <3> BluesKai: i believe there is a nero for linux . not free <1> @Ancient1 http://www.onlinepictures.de/2/?img=server4996f6dfgif.gif <9> ok, I don't mind paying , if it works , Ancient1 :) <4> Ancient1 and BluesKai , K3b is even better than NeroLinux, more options <6> hummm.. I don't have the command .installation_sources. <4> NeroLinux ****s big time <9> no movie burning tho twosouls82 <1> and there is a decss library for linux <3> BluesKai: of course. check that out beforehand <4> BluesKai, KMediaFactory and other progs do <9> in K3b that is <14> BluesKai: rip it with mencoder then burn it again <3> fgordon: hahaha scsi <14> Or you must be missing libdvdcss <4> :) neither does that crappy nerolinux <12> anybody builing xgl rpms? <14> k3b has support for libdvdcss <1> *g* scsi was too expensive fr me :( <14> but all prebuilt rpms disable it <4> Nomad411, what do you mean? <14> cause there may be legal problems <3> how can u use so many hdds ?? <4> Nomad411, why not use Yast2? <6> when I type the commands to add the sources.. as root: installation_sources -a http://suse.mirrors.tds.net/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source/ <4> http://download.videolan.org/pub/libdvdcss/1.2.9/ <1> With 4 additional ide controllers ==> 20 Hds <9> whynot just copy to copy ...I understand there's aversion of dvdshrink but the perl-Glib is reuired...not able to find one that will DL ...the sources won't connect to it for some reason <6> still new to Suse, dunno all the optiosn yet <3> fgordon: oh boy :) and whats that for ? <4> Nomad411, open Yast2 (a GUI) and search for "Installation Source" <12> anybody building compiz rpms???? <6> I see it now, sorry <0> doesn't 10.1 default to xgl/compiz? <4> raddy, clearly not <9> yes kommerck , I've read the notes about the legal probs of disributing software that semi legal
