<0> unused for 3 years
<1> the stream origin is a website
<2> C_Kode: Yep, because they've used that same damn chip in n+1 boards =p
<3> so then i save into what_ever
<3> and play with mpaler
<3> arf
<3> mplayer
<4> installation_sources is the command to add a new source, no?
<5> crash with yawtv too must be the tv driver... anone know the name of the tv driver in suse 10?
<2> Depends on what you use, a DVB card or some generic BTTV one.
<0> daPheonix: Gigabyte 7N400 Pro2
<5> dont know i use default install ... i have leadtek 2000xp and an ati all in wonder
<2> I think the 3112 has been supported since 2004 or something =p
<0> It's already started to complain that there are software raid partitoin existing on the SATA drives. ALthough actually only one has it as the second one never got added to the array
<5> strange zapping crashed my yast ...

<6> is there equevalent to DOS' "pause" command in Linux ?
<5> sleep
<6> it pauses until user presses "spacebar"
<7> is there anyway to emulate the an a drive with an img ?
<5> read
<7> or extract it somehow
<2> read -p "Press some damn key!"
<7> other than bochs
<2> Well, actually without the ! :P
<8> are there any better video benchmark programs than Glxgears that I can install
<2> alexey_: read -p "daPhoenix is damn hawt. Press enter to agree."
<5> back soon system very unstable ... rebooting
<6> thanks. it works
<6> read "Press enter to agree." 1>/dev/null 2>&1
<2> That don't sound right! ;)
<6> parph: Celestia
<6> they have a 3D Demo in Space
<8> interesting
<8> I have it installed already
<8> let me see
<6> help->Demo
<5> only tvtime work without crashing suse 10 64bit ati crappy driver... removing all the other tv stuff good fix...rats
<9> _oXo_: conclusion: don't buy ati
<6> What LKM is needed for IP support on SUSE Linux 10.0 ?
<5> all was working ok but after graphic driver update to correct one boom tv heck
<6> wonrg !
<6> conclusion - use OSS drivers !
<9> ideally
<9> at least nvidia actively engage with the community to fix issues
<2> Well that's not totally fair, ATi guys do communicate with us.
<6> I use nv OSS driver now.
<5> but i love ati perks...
<5> o well
<2> My guess is ATi doesn't have that big of a squad of guys actively involved in Linux development as nVidia, not least because they're in bed with MS atm :p
<0> Odd, SUSE sees my hardware raid as 2 drives. Maybe I blew out the config in the RAID CMOS
<6> btw - I have heard that 10.1 will not have xen-kernel like in 10.0 - but will have simply an LKM.
<6> Is that correct ?
<5> heck ati driver on ms is as bad too ... many instant resets or crash ... but not with the latest ones
<10> I can't get rid of some error messages I'm getting about orbit , gconf and gthumb when kde starts anyone can help me?
<2> _oXo_: I can't remember the last time I crashed because of the ATi driver on XP to be honest.
<6> nope....
<2> _oXo_: I can attribute a few crashes to Creative fo' sho' :p
<9> ati drivers on windows used to be incredibly unstable
<9> so it's not surprising that the linux ones still are
<5> :(
<9> morgul`: would help if you were more specific
<2> benJIman: Yeah they used to be - that's the operative word. The 5.x and 6.x series have been really good, at least for me.
<2> Although I've heard horror stories from other people.. but then nVidia nForce drivers on Win32 have been equally horrendous.
<10> benJIman the message looks like "GConf error"
<5> tvtime work great so no worrys for me...
<10> it's about a file called IOR
<11> mogge
<10> I can't give the exact message, it's very long and in french
<5> i wish i could have narrow down the fault ... o well ....
<10> that also says that there's an error while loading or saving nautilus configuration data
<0> Install rebooted on me. :/
<5> rpmdb: PANIC: fatal region error detected; run recovery
<5> error: db4 error(-30978) from dbenv->close: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery
<5> anone know what to do about this :
<9> "rpmdb --rebuilddb" (as root)

<5> benJIman: thanks
<9> what version of suse is this on?
<5> 10.0 64bit
<5> benJIman: should i be more concern
<9> _oXo_: it can happen occasionally, especially with corrupted patches
<5> ok good
<9> morgul`: any idea why nautilus is running under kde?
<9> morgul`: try deleting everything in ~/.kde/share/config/session/ and restarting kde
<10> maybe because I choosed gnome as wm when I made the install and then switched to kde when I had my gnome screwed after an update?
<12> Hi folks. I've got a keyboard question today.
<13> has anyone here ever tried out looking gl***?
<10> ok benJIman thanks I'm gonna try that
<6> GraveDigger: no.
<13> hmm...ok
<13> :/
<6> GraveDigger: but I heard of it. Anyways - until it's available as SUSE rpms - I probably won't dare to install it.
<13> okay
<13> good point
<13> although i doubt that there ever will be suse rpms
<6> even then - XGL KDE desktop probably will be better
<6> why not ?
<13> dunno
<13> just doubt it
<12> I've been running suse-10 on my lapop for a couple of months now. Works great. I just docked it to my docking station, with an external monitor and keyboard. Very nice. Only thing is that my keyboard doesn't behave the way I'm used to in Windows world. Specificaly the numeric keypad. I always turn numlock off, becuase I like those arrow keys, and the HOME, END, PGUP, PGDN keys. When I hold down shift and press END I expect to select text from where my cursor is t
<12> o the end of the line. Instead, what I get is the number "1". Can I change this to work like I'm used to it working?
<9> never be suse rpms for what GraveDigger ?
<5> wow fixing so much... i need a sensor that support temp, voltage and fans ... that will work with GKrellM ... anyone know of any?
<9> oh looking gl***
<13> benJIman: looking gl*** - sun's 3D Java desktop
<9> you could always make your own rpm GraveDigger
<9> they were showing that off at linuxworl
<9> d
<13> hmmm....true
<13> okay
<9> it was smooth but they were running it on some stupid quad core ultra fast thing
<6> I believe there will be rpms - if that desktop goes popular
<13> i better need to say: i doubt that there ever will be official rpms
<13> (from novell)
<6> I don't need rpms from Novell.
<6> It's OK just to have community rpm's.
<12> And in IntelliJ, when I press the up and down arrow keys on the keypad, instead of moving the cursor up and down, it keep the cursor in place, and scrolls the text up and down! Useless!
<13> true
<13> anyways: i going to test it
<13> now
<13> even if i need to go the hard way
<13> :)
<10> anyone have an idea why kde startup is so slow?
<12> morgul`: You need to get an 80287 math co-processor.
<6> wad: cursors supposed to work the same as in Windows. I have no such problems
<10> lol
<12> alexey_: Great! There is hope, then.
<9> morgul`: starts in less than 2seconds here
<10> maybe I should try suse on a 486dx66, would be faster than that pentium M 740
<6> SUSE requires i586 - 486 won't do.
<6> you are free to run slackware if you wish
<12> So I guess the 6502 is out of the question, then?
<10> alexey_ I was kidding
<13> -.-
<5> lol
<10> benJIman do you have kde 3.5 ?
<6> wad: try to see what it gives you. debug your keybd with "xev"
<12> ok
<9> morgul`: yes
<12> woah.... xev is funky.
<10> benJIman looks like your solution didn't solve the problem
<9> morgul`: probably gdm is being lame then
<9> try switching to kdm
<10> I use kdm
<6> wad: xev is a new thing for you ?
<6> wad: it seems that you liked it.
<12> alexey_: Could you try this? Turn off numeric keypad, then run xev, then hold down shift, then tap 1 on keypad, then release shift?
<12> Then paste the results?
<12> So I can compare with my own
<14> !paste
