<0> to catch all usb stick alikes, not just ipod <1> yah i have a vm with 2k directly on a fat32 and it detect it as a device all the time <2> bill-barriere: dont know if you've checked but there are also a substantial number of kde-based updates also via YaST..dunno why that would be tho :) <0> bill-barriere: an option to blacklist mountpoints or device labels would be nice <3> does suse 10.0 have halmount? <0> so when it pops up and says "new media device", you'd also have an option to say "blacklist" (never report nor mount it again) <0> kommerck: what's halmount ? <0> kommerck: no it doesn't <0> yay, scribus 1.3.3.1 built, at last <3> I want to use ivman instead of subfs on suse 10.0 <2> one thing I'd like to do, though, is install gnome once all the 2.14 is updated...has that been done, and if so, what is the best item to click on in YaST to get all the Gnome Desktop (as there are many choices) ? <3> without editing /etc/fstab <1> yaloki, yop would be better <4> yaloki: suggestion: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=37669&PHPSESSID=f4a2aa986636e6ba1b110e0a601697a9 <1> holy **** they are ****ing retard in gnome <1> ****ing retard kicked me for my name and banned me because i whined
<1> dumb retard <2> hmm <1> ##gnome some TinMan dunno who the fsck he think he is <0> cb400f: yes, seen that.. would better be done by the transcode maintainer at packman <1> holy **** amarok just crashed with a bus error and it wont start again :/ <0> ah, it doesn't use transcode <0> my bad lol <4> yaloki: hehe.. np.. I thought it was a transcode frontend too.. until now <4> bill-barriere: guess that's why they're called interface nazis ;) <5> moin, i need help with ssh, xterm and umlauten. <5> <0> cb400f: but seen the list of dependencies, I'll keep that one for an evening where I'm really, really bored... i.e. never ;)) <2> yaloki, I seem to have not gotten a response, so perhaps you could help me momentarily? <0> kkathman: about what ? <4> yaloki: hehe, ok.. only a suggestion, it's not something that I badly need <1> errr my power supply fart and that cause hard drive too randomlly shut down <0> cb400f: ok ;) <5> from what i understand umlaute are translated into some weird control sequences. <5> never had those problems with putty or debians standard ssh settings... <2> 1) Does SUSE have the newest Gnome 2.14 and if so, what (amonth the many items) guides the complete download from YaST ? <2> s/amonth/among/ <1> kkathman, http://jarpack.com <2> thank you :) <1> wip <0> kkathman: dunno, I don't use GNOME but from what I know the GNOME supplementary repository does _not_ have GNOME 2.14 <2> ahh ok <0> kkathman: don't ask me why, it doesn't make any sense, I guess it's because the ximian monkeys are just plain ****** <6> Good morning. Last night I was working and working to try and get courier-IMAP running on my suse-10 box. I finally got it to work! It seems that the startup script for courier-IMAP is broken. When I pieced together the command to run it manually, I could connect. When I launched it via "courier-imap start", I can't connect. Does anyone know where I could find a working startup script? I'm not very experienced at shell scripting, not sure what exactly is broken i <6> n the one that YAST installed for me. <2> I have it on the ubuntu dapper pre-release and its very nice, fwiw <2> but kubuntu is in disarray lol <1> yaloki, its because they are too ****ing lazy and wait for me too port their fscking patch <0> bill-barriere: yep <4> yaloki: another thing.. since you speek french.. have you looked at the easySUSE thingy? <0> cb400f: yes, it's a terrible idea <0> cb400f: or rather, maybe not a bad idea, but the implementation is awful <4> yaloki: ok.. too bad.. easyubuntu and automatix seem to be very succesful <7> update-alternatives --config java <7> There is only 1 program which provides java <7> (/usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.4.2-sun/bin/java). Nothing to configure. <7> help me, I've installed jdk (and it has jre with it) - how can I configure it <1> .. <0> salim: fsck dammit, read what I tell you <1> with didnt you use yast too install it <0> salim: I told you to install java-1_5_0-sun first <1> its called java-sun-devel in suse <1> not jdk <0> salim: just yast2 --install java-1_5_0-sun{,-{devel,alsa,jdbc}} <0> cb400f: that easysyse script is catastrophic <0> cb400f: pulls stuff from packman without using yast2 <4> yaloki: whut?.. then what does it use? <0> cb400f: including fixed version numbers <0> cb400f: rpm directly <0> cb400f: so after 2 or 3 days it doesn't work anymore because there's a new version of a package on packman <0> cb400f: it's a clueless coder, unfortunately <4> yaloki: that is *catastrophic* <0> cb400f: yes <0> totally clueless implementation <0> well, did I mention he's french <0> lol
<1> Oo <4> yaloki: lol.. maybe he'll have a better version for 10.1 <7> can anyone give me a hint to a very good vocabulary trainer <4> salim: never tried any.. but kdeedu3 and kvocabs bare the K-mark for quality .. or kuality <7> lol <7> my root partition has not so much space (only 7GB, I thought it would have been enough but its size exploded so quickly!), what can I doo <8> salim: Remove packages that you don <8> t <8> use <8> or, get a new HDD <9> how the heck did you fill 7gb? <10> Using KDE and OOo. <8> hehe, I have 4 Gb on my Mac, <10> Default install is almost 3.5 GB. <8> It's a tight fit on it <8> But it works, <8> and luckily i have about 200 free on the desktop <10> !free <11> Rumour has it free is a matter of freedom <8> !bee <10> That is, if you have 200 GB free, you should use it to cache CDs. <8> You mean for sources? or? <8> My own crap? <10> Anything... <10> I have copied all my mp3/ogg audio cds and SUSE 10.0 (the big 8.5 GB retail one) to it <8> I have all suse ISOs from 9, yellow dog, kubuntum etc etc <8> Kubuntu <10> 26G Machines-VMware <10> 8.6G Audio <10> 35G Video <10> 3.8G home <10> Somehow unequal. :) <8> I have no video, at all... <8> ONLY my own crap, that about 10g i think <8> thats <9> df -h . <9> Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on <9> /dev/hda4 47G 42G 1.9G 96% /home <10> 38G tmp <9> *G* <8> And I rip some of my cds, to put on my crappy Sony nw-a <8> free <9> du -sh tmp <9> 4,8G tmp <9> jengelh wins.. <10> darkman: not /tmp, but /D/tmp (CD cache, see above) <9> jengelh: was /home/sven/tmp - my privat "trash" <10> 1.4G kernel <10> heh <10> o_O <9> kinda like a messi ;) <9> i store all <9> ;) <10> i gotta continue my recylcer project <8> total 3,9 free 1,1 <10> But more interesting is quota <8> I have nothing1 <10> Filesystem blocks quota limit grace files quota limit grace <10> /dev/hdc2 133758504 0 0 237056 0 0 <8> 1,1 FREE, hehe <9> dunno, my private store is around 500gigs now.. <10> 237 K ****ing files <9> all the tv captures are killing my space ;) <8> Hehe <8> You need one of the new teradrives <12> im some where around 3/4 of a terabyte i believe <9> first i need money ;) <10> raise() <8> hehe, sell blood, organs, what ever you can spare <9> my box is still a amd 650mhz box ;) <12> morning jengelh
