<4> !rumour bill-barriere <3> bill-barriere: I've not heard any rumours about bill-barriere! <5> it doesn't like hyphens <4> ho yeah <5> they make mysql cry <2> !/etc/exports <2> !yast <3> Rumour has it yast is a pain in the ***...i mean the software part, the rest is great <6> gah <7> Richlv: are you using sshfs/fuse? it is not so far stable until now... <5> illustre: what are you trying todo? <4> woot someone remember me too hug nermal he fixed me in the stats :P <4> got damnned - <2> benJIman|tov: get some info how to change language only for yast <5> bill-barriere: leave him a !tell <6> everyone is having trouble with wep <5> illustre: you can change the whole system <4> !tell nermal woot thanks alot for fixing me on the stat ;) <3> bill-barriere: Okay, will tell upon next speaking. (Sent to 1 person.) <2> benJIman|tov: i want only yast not entire system [language change] <5> don't know if you can do that <4> ;) <4> nope i dont think you can <2> benJIman|tov:reference guide implies you can <4> yast even traduce remote yast <5> perhaps if you change your lang <4> so if local is french you ssh an ncurse and its gonna be french too <4> even if server is only in english <2> where are those funny msg from susehelp coming from <5> why would you want to change only yast's language? <5> illustre: what messages? <2> yast is a pain in the blablablabla <5> just things people have said in the channel <2> benJIman|tov:bilingual peopole maintaining system :-) <4> user can have their own local <4> each user <5> indeed <4> ho yast is root tho <2> how? <2> correct yast is root <5> you could create another acount with superuser privs <5> or use sudo or something <2> this is what book says, you can change the language for yast this implies it could be done for yast specific <5> probably just bad wording <2> mmmmm <5> sudo should use your user environment by default so might keep your locale, but that's just a guess <2> k <2> what is kdes xchat equivalent and why does it not install by default <8> hi <9> illustre: konversation is a great irc client for kde.. will install by default in SuSE 10.1 <8> has someone here suse 10.0 64bit and uses apt as paket manager? <2> cb400f, is it in 10.0 is that the package name <9> illustre: yes and yes <2> got it <10> eichi: you have it in yast <2> my last q? for today does anyone know if the linksys wireless card wrt54g works in 10.0 out of the book is a ralintech chip <11> sorry men, is there someone that want to ear my helpcry <8> yes problem is the source.list <8> @ WariO <8> unknown typ 'rpm' in line 1 in sourcelist /etc/apt/sources.list <8> how could this happen?
<0> lubomier, iam not yet using it, but i know a couple of persons who do <12> I'm running 10.0 oss w/ kde 3.5.1 installed via yast repo. Problem is, that the recent you update kde-core-components reprodutilly let me not start my PC in stage 5. Looks like KDM is messed up by that update (at least on my PC) as installing kde-base-kdm from kde.org solves the prob <0> i haven't heard any complaints, as far as i can remember <12> can s/o confirm or give a workaround <12> ? <10> EICHI find and add sorcce list to sourcelist /etc/apt/sources.list <8> yes i did <8> but source.list starts with rpm.... <8> thats normal, isn't it? <10> yep <8> yes, and why an error "unknown type" ?! <8> rpm ftp://ftp4.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt SuSE/10.0-x86_64 rpmkeys base java update extra samba3 kde gnome packman mozilla suser-drcux suser-gbv suser-guru suser-jengelh suser-scorot security <8> thats the one I use <13> anaZ Nashif! <8> error comes, if i start "apt update" <7> Richlv: you can count the first :) <7> what!? apt in suse? you must be f.. kidding... <8> apt in suse is the best you can do :) <8> it worked on 9.x very nice <8> but now 10.0 64bit....this confuse error <7> eichi: i must use suse in my work, i like debian based distros.. well, i know the power of apt... <14> apt is nice 4 sure <8> apt for suse is very common <10> works on x86 <0> lubomier, what are the problems with sshfs ? are there stability problems with normal usage, or is it more like bad connection/suspend etc ? <14> I use SUSE for my desktop, and I have a debian system on my big 200 Gig harddrive that I use to store and organize data <15> apt for Suse ****s . . if you want to update, learn to use YaST <3> No, I disagree, FrostByte is the one that is the ****. <15> lol <14> the two are not mutually exclusive <14> Yast is pretty impressive, although much much slower than apt <15> you wont break your distro using YaST. It will tell you when are about too. <7> Richlv: when i wasn't use it for some time, i was unable to acces/umount/anything mounted sshfs filesystem. so i drasticaly rmmoded -f fuse module and my system goes to knees.. :) smile because it wasn't production system :) <15> and I dont mind a little hand holding sometimes. Windows does too much, Linux based OS's dont usually do enough. <14> Yast makes is easy to bring together repositories with other sources, including files on the hard disk, and I like the way that it informs you of every possible option when there's a conflict or unresolved dependancy. <15> I used apt for SuSE for a while, until I realized it was messing everything. I had to reload, and vowed not to use it again. <15> of course, this is just my opinion . . and I dont really count in the scheme of things ;) <14> I use neither apt for SUSE, nor YAST for debian <16> what is this, logic ? <14> Likewise, I don't accept bribes from Democrats, or have *** with Republicans <17> hi people <17> anyone ever have a problem with kbear making a mess of the panel every time you load it? <14> No, but good morning <17> morning! :D <14> uhhh kbear <17> kbear <17> it's an ftp application <14> kool <18> kbear? <17> yeah <18> that ****s the hell out of me :S <18> there are better alternatives <18> FireFTP (firefox-extension) is simple and works nicely <18> gftp does have more options and is nice also <17> hmmmm <14> but it doesn't come with suse... you have to track it down <17> ahhh.... ok i'll do that, cos i agree kbear is kcrap! <19> how/where do I edit the root's PS1 (in bash)? <17> hey this still confuses me <17> look at this: <17> # gftp-2.0.18.tar.bz2 - Stable Source (bzip2) [1342 KB] <17> # gftp-2.0.18.tar.gz - Stable Source (gzip) [2119 KB] <17> which do I install? <17> or download I should say. <19> strange, that much difference between bzip and gzip <17> yeah... the file size is m***ively different <20> hi <17> hi <20> you have telnet installed? <19> try the bzup ;) <17> downloaded the larger one already
