<0> uriahheep: print_r($_SERVER); <1> uriahheep, it's somewhere in $_SERVER <2> does that include $_GET requests? <2> ..i don't thing so :-/ <1> uriahheep, do you mean the current page or the page the user is comming from <2> current page <3> whoa n/m <0> uriahheep: have you looked? or maybe it's possible to also see what's in $_GET <3> alot of crap I dont understand <3> well I kind of do, but its all nuts <1> thegh0st, look in the manual for explanations <3> ugh <1> specifically reserved.variables <4> Could someone tell me how to truncate a string? <5> http://pastebin.com/563084 Thats what I have right now. <5> http://root404.com/test.php
<6> whith phplib for tempate ... with set_var it's possible to insert php code ? <5> Thats what it outputs. <5> I only have 2 entries so its working. <6> or it's just for using with mysql ... <6> ? <5> But how do I limit it to 10 if I have lets say 44? <5> So it only displays the newest 10? <0> root404: read the section on SELECT in the mysql manual <2> aha!! <2> _SERVER["argv"] <2> >: <2> :> <5> CryWolf: Can you just tell me? <3> this is dumb <7> CryWolf, hire someone to code for you <7> err <7> root404, hire someone to code for you <5> Lol <5> I learn by doing it myself. <7> no you don't <8> then read the manual <2> so i would just have to do $current_url = 'http://www.mydomain.com'.$_SERVER['PHP_SELF'].'?'.$_SERVER['argv'][0]; <9> root404 You're being annoying now... <5> But I have searched the manual and I have found only stuff about optimizing the select, am I missing it? <0> root404: yes. <9> !+sql <10> [SQL] Structured Query Language - the language for most DB Systems. See http://www.w3schools.com/ http://www.sqlcourse.com/ http://www.onlamp.com/pub/ct/19 and #mysql, #postgresql or #sql <9> root404 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^6 <0> root404: by search, I ***ume you mean you looked at every chapter that might be relevant, right? <1> root404, you looking for LIMIT? Just a guess, I have no clue what your doing <3> hmm <3> my problem still is annoying :'( <3> feck <5> Ah, so LIMIT 0, 10 would do it? <8> tias <9> root404 Did you read the sql link I gave you? <11> root404: would you care to go to #mysql? <12> root404 Did you read the sql link I gave you? <5> I read the W3schools one. <13> What's metaprogramming? <11> root404: ... <14> doesn't anyone have the same problem as me? I can't send mails with the built-in function, I have sendmail properly configured, and it works to send mails in python just great. <5> Then I googled alittle bit more. Found some stuff, and then tried it out. And it works. <5> I'm sorry. <0> ErikHK: any errors in your mail log? <12> !+sorry <10> Don't be sorry, just don't do it. <5> I will try not to be annoying or ask stupid questions repeatedly. <1> skiddieleet, metaprogramming is hell in php, why not look on wikipedia? <11> root404: Then why do you have to ask for an unrelated stuff here, if it works? <14> CryWolf: where is that? :) <13> I found it <13> tanks <13> *thanks <5> Well it worked after I asked. <0> ErikHK: in /var/log <11> ... <15> do pretty much all modern browsers support meta http-refresh? <11> yes <14> CryWolf: mail.err was empty, and mail.log seemed fine <0> ErikHK: so there's no trace of php submitting the mail?
<12> b1n0ry: http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2068/rfc2068 <15> i'm creating a redirect function that first tires header('Location: ...') and if that failes, displays a page with a meta refresh timed to 0 that also displays the link as an a tag. pretty safe to ***ume that this will get through to the destination. <15> s/tires/tries <14> CryWolf: no, don't seem like it <16> b1n0ry: u can also use javascript for this: window.location = url <15> lizardX: yeah, but javascript is easy to disable. rfc compliance is not :) <12> b1n0ry wanna bet? <15> for the average user <0> ErikHK: is a call to mail() returning false? <12> b1n0ry wanna bet? <14> CryWolf: yes <15> http://pastebin.com/563118 <-- think a javascript check is also necessary? <1> Jymmmm, I'll bet you a cookie you'll take this bet. <0> ErikHK: have you created a small test script that you can post to pastebin? <17> hey, how do you guys usually debug your php <14> CryWolf: I can write a quick one, wait <15> swy: running it <17> within a webbrowser or within a 3rd party ide? <0> swy: with echo, print_r, and var_dump <15> swy: just like a user would <14> CryWolf: http://pastebin.com/563122 <17> ok thats what ive been doing as well, although i find it kind of cumbersome <15> ok, i gotta go get ready to go to church. cl*** from 3 to 6 for new members. i'll stick around, though, so if anyone wants to provide feedback on that function, please let me know. <14> that script returnes "sorry" obviously <12> b1n0ry: network.http.redirection-limit <15> Jymmmm not sure i follow <12> b1n0ry you on moz or ff ? <18> about:config <15> Jymmmm ie <15> i haven't tested with the others yet <0> ErikHK: verify your mail settings with phpinfo() <14> CryWolf: http://erikhk.net/phpinfo/ <14> I don't really know how to set it up :) <14> sendmail_from has no value though.. <12> b1n0ry Well uner NS4, Moz, or FF try about:config and you'll see. <14> CryWolf: oh, SMTP should be set on an external one if my ISP has one, right? it's smtp.p2p.nu in that case.. where should I put that? <18> Jymmmm: but that is a little bit harder than disabling javascript excpecially if you have webdevoper extension <0> ErikHK: that only gets set for Windows. For *nix, sendmail path is what gets set. <19> heya peeps <14> CryWolf: yeah, ok <0> ErikHK: what mta are you using? <12> zircu: I dont even need WebDev =) <14> CryWolf: I'm not really sure, actually :P <14> CryWolf: the name of the MTA isn't sendmail huh? <12> zircu: bookmarklets --> javascript:for(i=0;i<document.getElementsByTagName('TABLE').length;i++)void(document.getElementsByTagName('TABLE')[i].border=(document.getElementsByTagName('TABLE')[i].border=='0')?'1':'0'); <0> ErikHK: sendmail is an MTA. sendmail is also the name of the executable of all sendmail replacements. <14> CryWolf: Ok, I think I haven't changed anything, so I think it's sendmail I have <20> Omg, what a guess! :D <12> zircu: What value do you have for: network.dns.ipv4OnlyDomains <0> ErikHK: at a guess, 'man sendmail' to make sure -t and -i are valid options for whatever you have. Also, you may want to specify the full path, usually /usr/sbin/sendmail <21> This is more of a logic question. I am setting up autoresponders from mysql DB with field HoursAfterSubmit. I can ORDER BY HoursAfterSubmit ASC, and then for each member (make sure it wasn't the last processed one) and do whatever, then it will run sequentially through them. My problem is, what if someone adds a new one, which has a less HoursAfterSubmit... then it will run through them all again? <18> most MTA's provide the traditional sendmail binary <14> CryWolf: in php.ini? <20> Does anyone know how to use a variable in a variable name? <0> ErikHK: yes <0> spyro_boy: the answer to that is almost always "use an array instead" <12> spyro_boy http://us3.php.net/language.variables.variable <18> Jymmmm: false <20> CryWolf, okay..better question that. <20> then* <12> zircu weird, mine has fscking dblclick.net <14> CryWolf: changed it now, gonna try, I'll be back soon <18> Jymmmm: ooh.. sorry string .doubleclick.net <11> !+var vars <10> var vars is http://php.net/manual/en/language.variables.variable.php, but by using that you probably have an error in your logic... You should use arrays instead (http://php.net/array) <18> hmm <12> zircu: ah, ok. wierd, aint it? <20> Jymmmm, omg, you're god! <14> CryWolf: you're an angel! :D It worked with the full path! :D <18> Jymmmm: very <12> spyro_boy: Kindly remove your lips from my butt if you dont' mind. <11> lol
