<0> it's a shame if you debugged on a production server ^_^
<1> wrong server! ooh. like you mean to dump your dev db but you do it at the server. Have a drink.
<0> O.O
<2> I did like once... "okay... I dropped the DB... This shouldn't work... <f5> ****! Wrong DB! <lots of 'wtf' and 'OMG' here> Oh, I'm just looking in the wrong server...'
<3> :|
<1> ouch. That's what access controls are for :p
<4> i live on the wild side
<4> so far so good
<5> emacs always saves my day :P
<6> Hello! I have a bit of a problem I hope you can help with. My phpbb doesn't allow .php files to be in a signature, so I created a htaccess file of : "Redirect /img/signature.png /img/signature.php" so that I could put .png in the signature, but this immediately renames it to .php so it still doesn't work. Any idea what I could do with htaccess to fix this? I am running Zeus.
<2> I have looked one guy, that debugged the site on *PRODUCTION* server, and he went "oh, that's no biggie"... He was fired later on...
<2> Um more like "asked to leave" :)
<5> I actually have to do that for my customers
<2> do what?
<2> Fire them?
<5> Surgery on live code

<7> whats the difference between a PHP extension and a Zend extension?
<2> MikeSeth: Why the heck do you think they invented development servers?
<0> Stormchaser: they couldn't afford the development server XD
<5> Stormchaser, so that some people can get away with not using ones and the other would have to suffer from their incompetence?
<8> I can't find clear info on the internet regarding "Fatal Error: Cannot access empty property in /some/path". ANyone has seen it?
<0> heh...look at me
<0> i don't even HAVE a production server :)
<0> FTW!
<3> and people keeping on pointing out new ones i'm responsible for which i didn't even know existed :(
<2> SGershon: Yes.... $var in $object->$var is NULL, and it should never, EVER be null...
<0> fred87: charge them extra :ninja:
<3> not a job
<3> they belong to university computing society
<8> Stormchaser, what kind of variables can never be null?
<0> fred87: so you are doing it for free? o.O
<2> SGershon: The ones I have just told you about.
<3> Fushuing: yep
<3> well, one is slackbook.org/slamd64.com/fredemmott.co.uk/others which isn't owned by the compsoc
<3> but that one is mainly other people looking after it
<0> cool
<8> Stormchaser, I didn't do anything special. Just defined $var inside an object. No ruling regarding NULL values.
<8> Or any object member can be NULL?
<0> i only operate a website that makes me 100K a month :(0
<0> illegitmate purposes of course ;)
<3> :|
<3> but that's it
<0> wanna join me in my crusade? :)
<3> huh?
<3> reason i'm in here + #mysql atm is a legitimate business idea :P
<3> which is making me learn new stuff (primaril with sql, but some performance related php stuff)
<0> :/
<9> my website makes me... $1,000 a month
<9> :D
<2> not bad :)
<0> the black side of the force has many more opertunities to make money is the least ammount of time...
<0> I'M YOUR FATHER!
<3> advertising?
<8> Stormchaser, I am the one that is waking up your artistic side?
<3> @ monkey_b
<0> no, not advertising :S
<2> Fushuing: dork.
<9> yes fred
<0> my sites contain no advertising of whatsoever anything
<9> ppc
<9> noo
<9> i dont do advertising
<9> its retail
<9> i sell high end furniture
<2> !+enter
<10> Don't use the enter key as puncuation. Think in complete thoughts, then type.
<3> ahh
<0> ...
<4> i sell autographs
<0> high end...furniture...
<9> thoguht u meant if i advertised it

<9> oops
<9> YOU
<9> not U
<2> mkay.
<0> !tell monkey_b about u
<9> my appologies
<0> :P
<2> !+sorry
<10> Don't be sorry, just don't do it.
<9> k
<2> heya, lig! :)
<3> stormbot: btw where did you come across !tell, or was it an original idea for your bot?
<11> Happy Easter all
<2> um... 'stormbot? :)
<3> is that your bot?
<2> yep :)
<3> so original idea?
<8> There are many bots in IRC channels that have 'tell' implemented.
<2> fred87: but I have no idea, why are you asking *him* :)
<3> i came across it in another bot, so chucked it in mine
<3> Stormchaser: uh
<3> damn tab complete!
<3> :)
<0> don't make me tear my shirt apart -_-
<2> fred87: blame mattmcc... He gave me a link to the python bot... really crappy writen, but it's does it's job... well... semi-good...
<9> i had considered email spam for a while
<9> those guys have made bazillions
<9> but then i thought screw it
<5> but then again I am going to murder them all one day
<2> and they pay bazillion, if they're caught :)
<3> the lsat bug i found in my bot was fairly major; in pseudo sql "select * from tells where read = false;"; should have been "select * from tells where read = false and to = $user"
<0> MikeSeth: a russian spam leader got split in the head with a axe...
<9> theres so many of them though, and so few that actually get caught... it seems government goes after the big fish, and there are plenty of little fish still making tons of money
<9> with CANSPAM you can legally spam
<5> Fushuing, the murder was not related to his spamming activities
<2> Fushuing: ***y.
<0> MikeSeth: Really? To what then?
<9> fushuing, i heard that
<0> KGB? Russian Mob?
<9> nobody knows
<5> Fushuing, he was operating a huge language teaching scam, and spamming was only one of the ways to promote it
<2> Monkey_b: PRobably mob, then
<3> so it was related, just indirectly
<0> language teaching scam...you can actually scam that?
<3> </pedantic:Bastard>
<0> he was teaching the people who signed up to speak english thanks to the spam :)
<2> :)
<5> Fushuing, in early 90s majority of russian people in Moscos and other large cities got scammed into investing their money into "trust funds" and "banks" et cetera that promised 600% yearly ROI
<0> spam helps people speak english, smile ^_^
<0> ROI = ?
<5> In Russia, you can scam anyone into anything
<5> Fushuing, return of investment
<0> ah
<1> is there a channel for the phpdocs tools development?
<0> there are still investment scams
<2> #phpdoc, probably
<0> but they're called HYIP's
<0> and most are located in the USA? :D
<1> Stormchaser, ok, thanks
<5> Fushuing, the point is, after the perestroika the people found them in entirely new and unfamiliar economic waters and were ready to try anything for a quick buck.. both as scammers and scamees
<5> themselves*
<0> why are russia and china seen as the biggest spam/scam people? :S
<5> I remember times when Moscow ISPs used a finger breaking technique to compensate for stolen dialup accounts
<0> russia is a nice county...
<5> man these were the times
<0> MikeSeth: finger breaking technique?
<5> Fushuing, cuz Russian federal government doesnt care **** about anything that's not about maintaining its own grand importance
<12> like us gov
