<0> ah, nice, cool. <1> Warning: main(../dbconfig/ibls.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /srv/www/htdocs/addMachine.php on line 6" why? the file it is trying to include is 755 :S <1> also: undefined function session_start() ??? <1> how do i fix this? <2> Capn_Refsmmat: you sure? <0> itrebal, colder: Hmm, now I'm just trying to up the quality. Kind of ****s right now- http://notix.ath.cx:81/tfm/feed/image.php?text=test <3> foo, where is the code again ? <4> vhuren: I think so <2> colder: yes non numerical <4> vhuren: http://us2.php.net/manual/en/function.key.php <0> http://pastebin.com/636481 <4> foo: you may want to make it PNG rather than JPEG so you don't lose quality <3> foo, try to use imagecreatetruecolor() <5> foo: http://transmissionfm.com/ that yours? <0> Capn_Refsmmat: hm, alright. <0> itrebal: I didn't design that, I'm just doing some work for them.
<5> foo: ok <0> itrebal: Heard of it? It's new <3> foo, well no, just specify the quality <0> ahh, I replaced imagepng at the end ... instead of imagejpeg ... quality is WAY better. refresh <6> This is where we need to be ... NOT firefoc users need not bother ;-)))) http://www.georgenava.com/applauncher.php <3> foo, you could have set the jpeg quality. <0> colder: PNG is nicer, unless there are known compatibility issues <5> foo: no, i havn't but they have a spiffy layout <5> but *crap* music <0> itrebal: yeah. crap music? haha. Don't like the stream? <3> foo, your choice, FYI, it would have been imagejpeg($im, '', 100); <0> colder: hmm, I see. I think png's are the way to go nowadays. <3> yep <7> PDO::prepare(), does that keep compiled queries between multiple script executions? <8> hey has anyone here writtin (or kno of) a script to get yahoo webrank? <8> written <9> OT: what do clients expect in a programming portfolio? anyone have an example? <9> i'm referring to freelance jobs <0> stevarino: uh, good PHP work? Big sites? <0> I don't understand your question... <9> foo: lol i'm not sure what i even mean.. i'm looking at freelance offers that are asking for portfolios <0> stevarino: Just show sites you've done. Reputable stuff. Anything ... some backend work you've done .. I think you're overcomplicating this. hmm <9> lol maybe <10> Hi! <9> hey sesstreets <10> Man this is hard stuff... <10> Who knew that mysql + php is hard if you've NEVER DONE IT BEFORE! <4> It's a lot better if you find a good book <10> I bought sams ebook <4> link? <9> i would just recommend pouring over php.net/mysql_query and related <11> I don't recommend a PHP book. <10> http://images.barnesandnoble.com/images/8920000/8929172.jpg <11> stevarino: I agree. Everything you need is on the net...and there is a noticeable lack of quality PHP books. <12> I have a php4 to php5 migration issue. "foreach($_POST as $key=>$value)" returns the first element in php5, which is the Submit button, but in php4 it doesn't return the Submit button, it returns the form input field. Any suggestions? <4> unfortunately, the book I got ***umed register_globals was on <10> Im just lookin for a good starter <10> Php is the first computer language I learned, and I only learned how to use it about 3 weeks ago while messing with wordpress. <13> i want a certain input to get the focus, when the pages is shown <11> zobi1: If you're using foreach() why do you care about the order? <4> zobi1: sort the array first? <11> thorsten: That's a JS thing. <14> thorsten: javascript. ask in #web <13> thanks <9> zobi1: this can also be fixed by not giving the submit button a name attribute <11> sesstreets: Your best bet for learning is to just start coding. Find some good PHP forums (I recommend Sitepoint) and when you're really stuck turn to IRC. <12> Viflux: it's not so much the order. the function goes through all the elements of the list except for the submit button in php4. In php5 submit button is included, which is breaking the code. <9> http://orlando.craigslist.org/art/143926013.html <- looks like a fun job... maybe i should apply <10> ME FIRST <11> zobi1: So give your submit button a name, and then put an if() in the foreach() that checks for the submit, if it's the submit, just do 'continue;' <10> 30k damn <9> zobi1: to me that sounds wrong.. php shouldn't care what its p***ed, whether a submit button or textarea <15> anyone know how to create a unique 32 char id? <10> md5 <4> bob0908: many ways <9> sesstreets: you in with me ;) <10> Hell yes <10> I learn php in 6 hours for 30k a month <9> haha <4> bob0908: md5(microtime()) works nicely, you can make an array of chars as well <16> isent md5 32 chars+
<4> yes <9> i'm thinking they want ssh and ecommerce widgets too <10> I learn those too <10> 32K DUDE <9> Silliman: md5 is exactly 32 <15> Capn_Refsmmat: ty <16> caffinated, isent md5(uniqid(rand(), true)); better? <10> md5 is 32 chars? <12> stevarino: you might be right. I am having trouble diagnosing the problem. The only thing I am sure of is that there is a behaviour difference in "foreach" <10> md5 based on microtime is actually better <9> zobi1: can you post the code? i'm somewhat curious now :) <16> stevarino, my shift botten is a bit buggy <11> zobi1: It's not foreach() that's different, I guarantee it. <11> stevarino: This is the best thing I've ever seen in a job posting...."Must consider yourself elite" <9> Viflux: i honestly just want to meet this guy <9> he seems awesome <9> (or she) <11> stevarino: Sounds like an immigrant looking to make a quick buck after hearing tales of fortunes online. <11> And yes, I stereotype. <9> craigslist has some amazing job postings http://orlando.craigslist.org/art/145837995.html <10> I wonder what php6 is gonna be like <11> I have an amazing job already :) <9> Viflux: true, i don't mind being part of a pyramid scheme as long as i'm not part of the support <10> It just sounds bad*** <9> Viflux: it must be lonely on that pedastal <10> Yeha <11> lol <10> so many young boys all around you <11> It's a friendly office :) <10> lol <9> Viflux: but do you work with bikini models for 30k a months!?! <11> stevarino: Nahj <9> Viflux: then i ask... how do you sleep at night, knowing that someone else might get that job <15> Capn_Refsmmat: md5(microtime()) is perfect, thanks man <17> hi <4> bob0908: welcome <17> i have probleme with php form script <17> <? echo "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?>\n" ?> <17> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" <17> "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <17> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="de" lang="de"> <17> <head> <16> lol <9> Tuxist: pastebin!!...... nm <9> omg.. you mean there was probly more? like his whole form? <16> yep <16> says something about his IQ <9> well thereshis problem right there... hes using xml:lang="de" <16> haha <16> Tuxist, http://pastebin.com <17> ok <17> srry <17> http://pastebin.com/636567 <9> should i feel guilty using yahoo's great apis on the backend with google maps on the frontend? <18> I got a weird error when trying to access a phpMyAdmin page that uses the sql_query= variable. The sql.php page gets sent to the browser but, it looks like it has no data in it. Since there is no mime type header apparently the browser doesn't know what to do with it so it prompts for what to do with it. a text based browser gets the error "Error reading from socket" <19> lol Tux_Paranoid <19> * Tuxist even <17> i get a failure message on line 27 <14> Tuxist: what is the exact error message? <16> Tuxist, you only need session_start() once <19> you would get one earlier if you didnt have the @ in front of session_start the first time <17> unexpected T_VARIABLE <9> Tuxist: missing semicolon too <14> that's because you're missing a ; on line 26. <18> other php pages seem to render fine, and the mysql client libs seem to be ok. <14> TodoInTX: you should ask that in #phpmyadmin <18> ah... didn't know there was that channel. Thanks. <17> http://pastebin.com/636574 <17> unexpected '} on line 36 ? <9> Tuxist: semicolon again <9> Tuxist: if you don't understand the error, look up a line and make sure theres a semicolon <17> elseif (isset($i386;)) ? <9> Tuxist: actually missing a closing paren <9> line 35... you don't close parse_and_list, and then you need a semicolon
