<0> hi having a little problem with my nvidia card, trying to use a clone display scenario so i can basically show the same thing on screen as on a tv. when i go to nview display mode i can only select single
<1> SilverWolf, does it feel slower/
<2> Faaaster :D
<2> I love it
<1> faster without the render ?
<1> heh
<2> hehe, naw
<2> But faster than the opensource driver
<1> ah
<0> that mean u only help with linux and not windows :(
<2> ? :)
<3> all the other networks have windows nvidia channels
<0> can u name one
<0> as i need help urgently
<0> and unable to find any information on google
<4> quakenet?

<4> ircnet
<4> whatever
<5> Hey guys, I can't find the GeForce Go 6150 drivers for XP
<5> :p
<4> ilan`: read the topic
<3> quakenet would probably be the best bet
<0> ok ty
<5> kommerck: yes I did..
<5> What does that have to do with what I asked ?
<4> it's a unix channel
<5> And how am I supposed to understand that from the topic exactly ?
<4> UNOFFICIAL NVIDIA Linux/Solaris/FreeBSD Graphics Driver Support
<5> kommerck: that can refer to the next link in the topic
<4> the link is for unices too
<5> it should say UNOFFICIAL NVIDIA Linux/Solaris/FreeBSD Graphics Driver Support Chanel talk
<3> duh
<3> I'm sure you know what it means by now
<5> ok stop being smart ***es
<2> Haha
<6> Hello, anyone awake here today?
<2> Always :D
<2> It's a little over midnight though
<7> Greetings everybody!
<8> hmmmm.... at 800x600 res on my widescreen monitor, the bottom inch or so is cut off... this didn't happen with my 5900, but does with my 7900... anyone have any ideas?
<9> Same monitor? Computer? Driver revision? Driver/nview settings? Cables? DirectX? Service Pack?
<9> Could be anything.
<2> Timelord, easy now :) hehe
<10> hm didnt mention the kitchen sink :)
<2> hehe
<6> So, what's happening here?
<11> hi everyone !
<12> everyone say goodbye to pixiewing/erek has he gets booted from all of freenode for making threats and ban evading
<8> Timelord: same monitor, cable, distro, drivers, different video card (7900 instead of a 5900)
<13> hi good morning. I?m having problems with render (under glxinfo that is using NVIDIA?s libraries) with a Geforce4 MX4000. I don?t know if I?m missing something. In this link I posted some info (lsmod, Xorg.log and xorg.conf) http://lokalix.dyndns.org/tmp/problem.log to see If anyone can take a look and give me some clue.
<14> what's with all the question marks?
<13> I tried with and without drm kernel module. I installed libdrm, freeglut and mesa3d.
<14> nvidia doesn't use DRM or DRI
<13> well, I tried without the kernel module and the same result in glxinfo. If you mean libdrm, it?s needed by mesa3d.
<14> ugh, those question marks are so annoying
<13> I read about nvidia drivers and setup a geforce mx400 without problems, but with this card, I don?t know why its loadind the driver but don?t get render.
<13> Primer, sorry, I don?t want to disturb. I?m asking here because I don?t know what to do in this point.
<15> Hi. I've just bought an EVGA GeForce MX4000. Using the latest nvidia driver for Linux, my X server often locks up, only the pointer moves. I've tried some solutions I've found on the internet, like turning off hardware acceleration, but none has worked. Is there a definitive solution for this problem?
<15> I don't want to use the nv driver, because it makes X consume about 40-50% of my CPU resources and is very slow
<13> CyberMc, I?m having problems with a geforce4 mx 4000 chipset. Is like yours? I can not get render:yes in glxinfo using nvidia driver.
<15> well, it is the same chipset... is it stable using the nvidia driver? which distro and driver version are you using?
<13> nvidia version 1.0-8762 and CRUX I can not get render in glxinfo. http://lokalix.dyndns.org/tmp/problem.log in this link there is some configuration information.
<15> sorry, pitillo, but I can't help you. currently I have more doubts than answers to offer :)
<13> CyberMc, no problem, but like I said, This is the first card that is giving me problems. In the driver README it?s good explained the installation and configuration, but with this chipset it?s quite dificult
<15> yes... my old GeForce 2 MX400 still works fine... this MX4000, on the other hand, is giving me a hard time
<13> CyberMc jajajaja I have no problem with a geforce MX 400 too. It?s quite strange :)
<15> I wish I could get another of those cards. unfortunately they're pretty hard to find
<13> CyberMc, This is the first problem I had with nvidia chipsets. With other Ati radeon cards I need to work hard to make them working instead of nvidia, that were easy to setup.
<15> well... I guess I'll try to downgrade my nvidia driver to 1.0-6xxx. some people say this problem I'm having may be solved this way.
<13> I?ll continue reading trying to find some info about. But I think it?s quite dificult.
<13> CyberMc, can you paste a lsmod and your xorg.conf to take a look?
<16> How do i create like a clip of cars racing or a guy walking, stuff like that ?
<15> pitillo, i'm trying to send you the files, but I think I can't do thar because I'm not registered
<15> anyway, my xorg.conf is pretty weird, as I'm running a dualhead-dualseat system
<13> CyberMc, you can use a pastebin if you want
<13> http://pastebin.ca
<15> good idea. here goes my lsmod... http://pastebin.ca/77653

<15> and here the xorg.conf... http://pastebin.ca/77654
<13> well, I can see that you aren?t using fb. Nice to know that (I wasn?t sure if I need to add support to it)
<13> CyberMc, ummm, you are using dri in your xorg.conf that in README says it isn?t necesary, and it?s need to be commented out
<13> did you let a try to comment the Load "dri" line in your xorg.conf file?
<15> it was actually commented off... now i'm running two nvidia boards... one of them is using the nv driver ant the other, the nvidia one... that's why both glx and dri are loaded
<15> i'm gonna try yet another solution I just found... gotta reboot the system. well, see you later!
<13> :)
<17> Hello
<13> hi evil_bunny
<17> when i use the nvidia driver i get a blank screen
<17> and there seem to be no errors in the log
<13> evil_bunny, is there some info in dmesg at insertion module time?
<17> dmesg ?
<13> evil_bunny, or /var/log/messages?
<17> pitillo, http://paste.getlinuxhelp.org/2387
<17> thats my xorg log file
<13> evil_bunny, did you try to use the lastest nvidia drivers?
<17> it is the latest emerge of the drivers
<17> pitillo, looks like it goes ina an infinite loop
<13> evil_bunny, sorry I?m a new nvidia user. I can not help too much but I see that nvidia driver version differs with mine.
<17> i see thanks :)
<13> well, may be the solution to my problem is give a try to the open source driver...
<17> i am using that
<17> it works
<17> but it gives a problem with glx
<17> it cant load the glx module
<18> try building it before
<18> and installing
<18> what distribution?
<17> gentoo
<18> lol
<18> have you emerged nvidia-glx
<18> ?
<17> yes
<17> and nvidia kernel
<18> and did the eselect thingy?
<17> yes i did everything according to the ocs
<17> *docs
<18> does /usr/lib/opengl/nvidia/ exist with lots of files in it?
<18> if yes:: where does /usr/lib/libGL.so point to?
<17> /usr/lib/opengl/nvidia/ only contains extensions include lib no-tls tls
<17> lemme check
<17> how do i know to ehat its pointing ?
<18> ls -l
<17> libGL.so -> libGL.so.1.0.6629
<18> aha
<18> found it
<18> what version of xorg and kernel are you using?
<17> X Window System Version 7.0.0
<18> yeah
<17> kernel should be 2.6
<18> and some recent 2.6.16 or 2.6.17
<18> kernel
<18> right?
<17> dunno lemme check
<18> yeah - both ****! install nvidia-stuff with ~x86 keyword - that should fix it
<18> epm -qa | grep nvidia
<18> nvidia-glx-1.0.8762
<18> nvidia-kernel-1.0.8762
<18> ^^ are mine
<17> 2.6.11-gentoo-r11
<18> k
<18> ****s either, install ~x86 nvidia-stuff then
<17> should that solve it ?!
<18> evil_bunny: yep
<13> well, I found something interesting, the extension COMPOSITE in my xorg.conf file. It?s Composite and may be the problem with closed driver is there (think it?s needed that extension to work properly the driver).
<19> hello all.. someone knows the ram-specifications of a geforce 6600? (looked at nvidia.com but no hints in the technical documents there).. I wanted to know if it importend for the driver to have the correct amount (whether it is 128 mb or 256 mb ram)
<20> hey wazzup?
<21> hello
<21> i cant see some pics witch my nvidia from some pages. why?
<21> http://wm-chicks.dl.am as example
<21> same problem at some other sides
<8> is there a setting that determines the physical size of the display per resolution? (I.E. one resolution is cut off on my display)
<22> you mean that you set lets say a resolution of 1280x1024 but only 1024x768 is displayed?
