<0> chron, generally there supposed to be hidden
<0> chron, but your program isn't hiding them
<1> download and install tor and privoxy, and get the proxybutton extension for firefox
<2> Ive not used privoxy in ages.
<2> I tend to use the adblocker extensions and thats about it these days
<1> the 3 of them are a good combo, imo
<0> What kind of supernerd owns a pager
<2> Heck - just the adblock extension gets rid of 99% of the stuff :) lik.
<3> GeniXPro: I work here
<0> Worse yet, he responded to it quickly
<4> im having a problem installing software. could someone help? http://paste.ubuntu-nl.org/12273
<5> Dr_Willis: heh
<3> GeniXPro: people page me when they need something
<0> Now thats nerdy
<2> depends on your sites you go to I guess.
<6> lilo: you see it?

<0> lilo, yeah yeah :)
<3> now, *that's* nerdy ;)
<3> "you geek! you're providing good service!"
<7> GeniXPro: i do! (it's a fire pager though, so i guess it doesnt count)
<3> ;)
<0> My pager counts pages for me
<8> GeniXPro i checked my hidden folders
<0> tells me how much math homework i haven't yet finished
<5> my pager manages my desktops :/
<8> i'm not an idiot
<6> My pager shows my desktops
<3> GiGaHeRtZ: missed the IP
<8> i left without those and i come back and i have em
<3> (/hostname)
<1> linux_user400354: did you install java via an rpm?
<7> so i respond to this one quickly (like i'll almost be out of bed and out the door before it has finished beeping)
<3> I was still up, working on....
<9> ....spinhome
<5> lilo: you dont have to finish that
<9> spinhome is not about PDPC
<9> it might be about moving my salary off-budget though, if it works out :)
<4> mjbjr, no, i followed the directions here http://easylinux.info/wiki/Fedora#How_to_install_J2SE_Runtime_Environment_.28JRE.29_with_Plug-in_for_Mozilla_Firefox
<0> oops
<1> linux_user400354: my quess would be that because you didn
<6> lilo: I don't have that command, hold on
<9> GeniXPro: I have to deal with a few people who are particularly obnoxious, like to play politics
<10> :)
<1> linux_user400354: my quess would be that because you didn't install via rpm it's not in the rpm db and so it is not being seen
<3> nope ;)
<9> spinhome is about money, but not official, so I have to keep a separate client to talk about it
<9> anyway, I'm still around, page me if you need me
<0> PAGE!
<5> somegeek: thanks alot
<0> FEtch me a chocoplate bar
<9> itrebal: glad to help
<0> why thank you somegeek your so friendly
<0> :)
<9> I'm digging up Deb's student loan total for the web site
<9> she thinks it's a lot less than I thought, I'm hoping she's right
<1> linux_user400354: 'rpm some_rpm_option java' will show you if it's in the db
<6> lilo: md.cable.rcn.com
<6> :)
<5> somegeek: heh, i hope your right :/
<1> linux_user400354: and if that's the problem, you can create an rpm 'stub' for java so that it gets in your db
<6> lilo: or maybe ubr1.lnh-161.md.cable.rcn.com]
<5> with dvd::rip i got the dvd ripped fine, but is there an easy way to put it all into one large, bulky, file?
<11> itrebal: dvdrip can do that too
<4> mjbjr, how can i create the stub for the java
<5> danieldg: d'you know what they call it?
<11> itrebal: transcode

<0> what? you finished? you must have been telling the truth when you said your not ripping porn
<5> danieldg: fantastic, thanks
<1> linux_user400354: see the man page for rpm
<4> mjbjr, would it be better to download and install the rpm java? i searched the man pages for stub and it says pattern not found.
<1> linux_user400354: you could do that, too
<5> heh, i wish i could let this take more CPU
<6> rob: thanks
<1> linux_user400354: your nick is too damn big, why don't you change it to lu_400354 ;)

<5> sounds strangely like a birthday
<0> How could you tell?
<12> i'm trying to download knoppix using the http/ftp mirrors. i am using a bi-directional satellite (500K-down/380K-up). i was using knoppix 4.0.0 and ultimate boot cd live cd distros and konqurer, firefox, and linx web browsers. regardless of which mirror i use the connection is around 4kbps or drops to that a few kbps at a time within a minute or 2. do i need a new ISP or am i doing something wrong?
<0> Its also the root p***word on my computer
<0> oops did i say that
<5> 383050
<5> except i've gotten about 10 people using linux that dont have numbers
<13> 6
<6> I never got a number :-/
<13> (kidding, I always say 6)
<5> 2? tis my number
<0> DigiLife, you have satelite internet o_O?
<14> don't see the point in getting a number..
<1> truly
<12> yep
<5> rob: its so they can de-humanize you and then tattoo it on your arm
<5> oh wait...
<6> rob: me either
<1> your arm? I got mine on my forehead :P
<5> lol
<0> I have "For Sale: Price Negotiable" tattooed on my forehead
<12> i have a mixed network (win32/mac/linux/openbsd) behind 3 subnets with nat behind a router that talks to the satellite
<15> Ahh... Feels good to have my old nick back
<0> Its too bad GiGaHuRtZ will never know how many people just called him a loser
<1> :)
<12> at home no less
<0> DigiLife, your sattellite talks?
<0> DigiLife, well tell it to go faster then
<0> DigiLife, threaten it with its life
<7> tell it to show you the pr0n channel
<12> but i am also involved in a local lug, 2600 and applecore .orgs and i supply full size live-cds.
<12> i need the satellite for that since i'm in the boonies with no cable and nearest telco switch is 17 miles (!) away
<12> GeniXPro: this isnt funny
<5> syntrx: where can you order them?
<0> my free pay site offers all the pr0n a man could ever need
<12> i help people
<0> DigiLife, I can't solve your issue
<7> we asked 'em for 10, but they said "here's 100, hand em out at school"
<7> itrebal: i'll get the url. they're free
<12> hard to do when i cant get a d/l to finish
<0> DigiLife, But if you could, at the very least, try another ISP, i would do it
<7> err crap
<7> i meant ubuntu
<7> not knoppix
<12> i was wonderring if there was a way to test to see if they were capping the connections
<5> syntrx: ah, i've got the ubuntu :)
<7> a night on the drink catching up with me :(
<12> any ideas? anyone?
<15> Woohoo, it's all about my new cloak
<5> lol a local computer store's slogan is "so cheap, it MEGA HURTZ"
