<0> ghenry: yes, i chnage the auth_typ to anonymous..because of my ACLs
<0> access to attrs=userP***word
<0> by dn="cn=admin,dc=gds1,dc=de" write
<0> by anonymous auth
<0> by self write
<0> by * none
<1> cool xored
<1> fine xored
<2> ok, i'll take that out ghenry
<3> xored, by self write must be before 'by anonymous auth' to work
<2> anything else that sticks out?
<1> ^robertj: nopaste somewhere?
<1> tomas_: have you even got ldapsearch -x blah -ZZ working?
<0> thank you guys..could i state a question about schemes ... i need to have some fields for joomla..how do i create a "joomla" object with some interger / string values which have to be set and some which are optional ?
<0> _ranger_: ah ok, thank you
<3> xored, doesn't joomla provide a schema ?

<2> when i do ldapsearch -ZZ, i get that tls neg failure
<4> ghenry: http://pastebin.com/865304
<1> tomas_: against both?
<0> _ranger_: i guess your question is allowed ... no...iam wondering about but no the module for joomla is not giving a scheme ..a bit strange
<1> ^robertj: loading now
<3> xored, ok, well, you could write your own
<2> it should be -x p***word?
<4> ghenry: lots of attributes dont show because I haven't added their schema but the objectCl*** worries me
<1> pastebin ****s
<0> tomas_: just a tip...put your server in non quite mode and put -d 256 on
<3> xored, but, you should really first apply for your own OID arc from IANA
<2> ya, i put loglevel at -1
<3> xored, (there is a page on this on the FAQoMatic)
<0> _ranger_: i have no clue what a OID arc fomr IANA is ? like a certificate or smth ?
<3> xored, no, your own bit of object identifier which no-one else can use
<4> ghenry: object cl***es from the bdb backend show fine
<5> I have a problem with my schemas.
<3> xored, please look on the FAQ-o-Matic
<4> and they are being received by the ldap server
<0> _ranger_: ok,, where is the FAQ-o-Matic
<3> xored, then, look at some other schemas that store the same kind of data you need
<5> phpldapadmin shows my groups like posixGroup objects, but posixGroup is not shown as structural while I'm using the nis schema.
<3> xored, find it from www.openldap.org ...
<5> how can I check that from the command line ?
<5> I don't really trust phpldapadmin now
<4> ghenry: i just got a call & have to go, any shots in the dark I should check into or just try back later?
<0> _ranger_: iam checking the FAQ
<1> chat in here for later
<2> well, i'll pick this up tommorrow
<4> see you around
<4> thanks
<2> thx all for the help
<3> elshaa,
<3> Lagoon Bar
<3> We visited the Lagoon Bar at about 18h25 on Friday January 12 2007, and sat at the bar. We were greeted by Welcome immediately after we were seated. Welcome brought us the cocktail menus, and was able to suggest cocktails from the menu. The gl***es used for our drinks were clean, and Welcome checked them before pouring. Welcome used a tot pourer when pouring tots. Welcome was well presented in uniform and wearing his name badge.
<3> On completion of our drinks, we were not offered more drinks. Welcome brought us a bill for the drinks, and I asked to sign to the room. Welcome brought us a docket, but no pen to sign with until I asked for one.
<3> The bar was clean but not in such good state of repair (one end of the counter was damaged), however the area behind the bar was neat and clean.
<3> arch
<3> sorry
<3> $ ldapsearch -x -s base -b cn=subschema objectcl***es|perl -p0e 's/\n //g'|grep -i posixgroup
<3> That's correct ^^^^
<5> lol. thanks
<5> s :)
<0> _ranger_: so the question ist..iam doing it as company for joomlas Opensource project. So i guess i should no ask iana..more openLDAP ?
<3> no
<3> samba has it's own oid's
<3> they don't use OpenLDAP's
<3> joomla could register for one
<0> hmm, maybe joomla has one ? where to look at ?
<6> Is there any online docs that really shine?
<6> because this one at openldap.org isn't painting a clear picture of anything
<0> EvanCarroll: http://www.openldap.org/doc/admin23/
<0> EvanCarroll: to be honest..iam new here too and i tried several howtows..but it seems
<6> the least, least lacking..
<0> as the most one are outdated or just not correct enaugh..after fighting with the openldap doku..it really gives you the most information
<6> still at the very least, it is too disorganized to be of any use.
<1> EvanCarroll: we are working on it ;-)
<3> EvanCarroll, the point of the admin guide is not to teach you LDAP concepts (at present)
<5> _ranger_: http://rafb.net/p/A6velW54.html should means posixGroup is structural right ? btw : do you see some schema that could be conflicting ?
<6> there is also this one http://www.acay.com.au/~oscarp/tutor/
<6> _ranger_: good, because if it was, it fails.

<6> Where can I learn ldap concepts
<3> right, people normally buy books to learn concepts ...
<1> _ranger_: EvanCarroll we were chatting about a beginners guie
<1> guide
<0> EvanCarroll: which language, is german ok ?
<3> there are some online versions of some LDAP books I think
<6> _ranger_: And I asked 3 times what books woulden't **** =/ and no one has read any of them
<5> hummmm
<6> xored: preferably not, being I don't speak it ;)
<3> The O'Reilly book isn't too bad
<5> trying phpldapadmin with an other browser show it correctly... probably a cache prob
<3> elshaa, looks like posixGroup is structural
<3> elshaa, this Fedora or RHEL ?
<0> EvanCarroll: i guess. google will answer it for you :)
<0> lol
<5> yep. I've been in doubt all day long. RHEL4
<0> RHELL ? :)
<6> http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg244986.html I got this one too
<5> lol
<3> elshaa, you may want to look at these: http://anorien.warwick.ac.uk/mirrors/buchan/openldap/rhel4/
<3> (my packages)
<5> cool. Thanks.
<3> hope to get 2.3.33 up tomorrow
<5> _ranger_: do you know freshrpms.net ?
<3> elshaa, having been involved with Mandriva for 5+ years, I've been disappointed with most Fedora/RH repos ...
<3> too chaotic
<0> debian !
<3> too disorganised, conflict with each other
<5> I agree.
<1> night all
<0> night
<3> xored, wrong place to punt debian (which still has 2.2 ...)
<3> :-P
<0> hehe
<0> sorry, but i love it
<0> and i cant see something which can convince me to not do it
<0> i tried suse, rh, gentoo, ubuntu, mandrake
<0> and after all that time, debian for servers and gentoo for desktops are my choice :)
<5> _ranger_: are the srpm somewhere ? I have x86_64.
<3> http://anorien.warwick.ac.uk/mirrors/buchan/openldap/rhel4-x86_64/
<5> thx
<7> etch has 2.3.30+patches :P
<3> cooker has 2.3.32
<5> heh
<0> yeah, i mean you can alway use some "usntable" packages with the stable one..
<3> same as on almost any distro
<0> its is not advised but in most situations..its working quite well
<0> iam using apache2 / php5 an may debian stable machine too..its not that its somehow diffulty to get openldap 2.3 running there
<0> but i guess offtopic :) sorry
<3> yes
<3> (of course, I already have apache 2 and php5 on my 2007.0 box, and also Catalyst and lots of things not available on debian)
<3> but, lets stay on topic
<1> _ranger_: Catalyst++ ;-)
<3> ghenry, if a colleague and I can get a decent web app together in a few hours ... it has to be pretty good :-P
<8> ghenry: we're looking at using Catalyst for our new stuff too. We're evaluating it.
<7> and here i thought catalyst was a networkign switch.
<9> hi all... somebody know an simpleway to fetch p***words from shadow... and create an valid userP***word based in it?
<9> i have my own migrate script... with all attrs i need (alot more than migrationtools), but im with problems to fetch p***words
<10> ghenry, you still about?
<10> ghenry: objectCl***es are still not showing up on my slapd-ldap object
<6> Anyone here in houston want to make some money teaching ldap?
<11> hm... I think I may be giving another LDAP session at the next LISA conference in TExas.
<11> but that's a year away
<11> still, Houston isn't a big jump from L.A.
<6> =[ make the jump
<11> EvanCarroll: email sales@symas.com, ask about our LDAP Univesity offerings. Let us know your timeframe, etc.
<6> I'm fairly certain we aren't paying enough to warrent a plane trip
<0> conn=21 op=2 SRCH base="ou=IntranetUser,dc=gds1,dc=de" scope=2 deref=0 filter="(cn=sert)"
<0> <= bdb_equality_candidates: (cn) index_param failed (18)
<0> what could tha mean ?
<11> that could mean you don't have an equality index for the cn attribute.
<11> just a hunch.
<9> xored have u an index for cn attr?
<0> BarryAllen: to be honest, iam not sure what that is
