I installed krec to see if I can record sound and I played with alsamixer a lot... well, krec never records and I am truly stumped :(

<14> MuJ: everything's built from scratch. to install gentoo, you have to compile the kernel yourself, add all the utilities like coreutils in manually, and spent a lot of time trying to get everything working :P
