<0> Shirakawasuna: It probably parses emerge.log by itself I'd ***ume
<1> I suppose the downside to kuroo is the lack of screen...
<2> Casper: depends on how you ask it to operate... But usually that is just the DVD drive trying to figure out the format of the disk.
<1> I think genlop parses emerge.log too, so I suppose it does almost the same thing
<1> Sho_: buy me this: http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec.hmx?scriteria=MB-BA21093
<0> Pentium 4? eww :)
<1> psh
<1> it's newer pentium 4s
<1> or celeron D
<1> still better than my athlon t-bird
<3> Also, where can I post my current programming projects?
<4> by eall yoo 8
<5> QMario: on your own webserver?
<6> hi
<7> thiago: you there? found the solution

<7> hello aseigo :)
<7> thiago: btw, I am conversating with Kevin about that... that's another hal policy issue
<7> I love my KDE again!
<6> lol..
<1> why?
<7> stupid kde 3.5.4 media:/ kioslave :P
<7> well... stupid hal maybe
<7> or too much restrictive hal policy
<7> who knows ?
<6> is there a better version of oblique plugin for noatun?
<6> i had fix up it a bit..but it's still unstable
<1> lxnay: indeed, stupid hal
<7> Shirakawasuna: Ottens said that's a packager problem... so you should say stupid gentoo devs :P
<1> yeah
<1> stupid devs
<1> I still like to blame hal
<7> SabayonLinux 3... here I come.... :D
<1> hehe
<1> how customizable is the software packages it comes with?
<1> *are
<1> I know that it comes with a ton so if you can't trim out gnome automatically that would be...very bad
<8> hi, all. What causes a desktop area larger than the screen? is it kde or xorg?
<9> xorg
<8> Okay, Thanks, Renze
<9> no problem
<10> any idea on what license is RHEL 4.0 released under?
<11> gemidjy: each package has its own licence
<12> gemidjy GPL
<10> benJIman so one has some restricted EULA other GPL ?
<10> that is not compatible with GPL
<11> Paleo: I don't believe every single package included is GPL is it?
<7> I hate the fact that Firefox uses GTK bindings...
<11> gemidjy: probably some, don't know, why do you ask?
<7> I HATE THAT
<11> lxnay: fortunately there is konqueror which is a better browser anyway :)
<13> since changing from monolithic to split ebuilds, I seem to have lost the ability to create a new folder off the right click menu in konqueror.. how can I put it back on?
<11> seriously 80% of problems in here seem to be gentoo users with split ebuilds, you'd think gentoo people could sort it out by now
<13> I know there are other ways of making new folder, but right click menu wqorks best for me
<7> benJIman: yep but you know... some websites don't work...
<11> isn't there a gentoo kde channel?
<13> works*
<6> maybe you haven't the right for write?
<7> benJIman: but that's true even the opposite
<11> lxnay: pretty much everything does, lots work better in konqueror
<14> hi aseigo, canllaith
<7> benJIman: yesterday I was surfing on deviantart with ffox and the navigation menu didn't work
<15> lgsobalvarro: yo
<7> benJIman: fired up konqi... and everything worked like a charm
<7> erm aseigo --> [00:04] <7> hello aseigo :)
<16> sorry I disconn.
<7> :P
<14> how are you aseigo? i dont se you from long time ago
<15> lxnay: hey =)
<15> lgsobalvarro: yeah, been a busy life recently =/
<7> aseigo: that's nice now :)
<7> aseigo: lol
<6> charm
<6> ops
<6> sorry xD
<7> btw... gotta work on SL 3...
<7> cya guys...

<15> lxnay: well, i probably wasn't in front of this computer at that time is all =)
<17> aseigo: don't worry... you're the best anyway :D
<17> kudos to you all... kde devel rocks
<17> kde devs rock sorry :D
<13> since changing from monolithic to split ebuilds, I seem to have lost the ability to create a new folder off the right click menu in konqueror.. how can I put it back on?
<14> well aseigo this monts a have been so busy too
<6> Firztspawn: make sure that you have the write right in that directory
<15> lgsobalvarro: hopefully good though
<13> Baldosoft: is the /home/user directory
<13> its*
<6> Firztspawn: ok..it's a konqueror problem :p
<18> I just installed a load of apps via "yum" (FC5), but none of them are appearing on the K Menu :/
<18> is there any way to get them to appear without restarting?
<11> perhaps the packages don't contain menu entries?
<11> sounds like bad packaging, you could try restarting the menu though, "dcop kicker default restart"
<18> they should do...
<17> sweeeet
<17> s/sweeeet/looool
<18> it's limewire, mplayer, xmms...
<11> I don't use rh
<18> benJIman - I tried that, it said "call failed"
<11> no idea why that would fail, you're sure you're using kicker?
<18> erm... the usual k menu...
<18> I have the blue "K" gear icon in the bottom left
<6> is there a channel like #kde-dev?
<9> #kde-devel
<6> thanks :)
<19> Hallo
<13> Renze: msg please?

<0> ahmed: /join #kde.de
<19> thx
<18> benJIman - so any idea of another way I can fix it? :/
<20> what's new in kde4?
<13> Renze: ping
<9> poit!
<13> you dont need kdesktop installed for that file I wanted.. I got hold of one and voila
<13> all good now
<9> ok
<13> 3 stupid lines (well over 100 if you count the languages covered)
<21> hi
<22> hi
<22> hi matt
<23> I'm using KDE 3.5.2 on Kubuntu Dapper and I want to write an applet, can anyone recommend me a tutorial? the one at kde.org is for KDE 2.0
<24> why is it that when i try to use filters on KMail, it only lets me filter mail into the local folders? it won't let me filter stuff into my imap?
<25> hi
<26> heya, does anybody know how to create the My Computer icon in KDE?
<26> at somepoint it disapeared and I dunno how to get it back
<0> Malician: Make an ew "Link to location" and use system:/ as target
<26> hreh, I remember the old one showing a bunch of system info when I clicked on it
<9> that one is distribution specific
<0> Malician: This may depend on your distribution to a certain degree; KDE by default has no "My Computer" icon, for example
<0> Malician: But I'm ***uming that system:/ is what you want
<26> *nods* thanks
<25> how can I change the resolution of my TFT-Screen to a higher resolution? In Yast I only can find a low resolution, and changing have no effect
<9> yast is nothing to do with KDE... ask in #suse
<27> Hello, my akregator is crashing when i launch it, the backtrace is : http://paste-bin.com/358
<25> Renze: ok, thanx
<28> my chat client is having issues, can someone just let me know if this gets thru?
<0> (Kopete is having issues, eh? ;-)
<23> I'm using KDE 3.5.2 on Kubuntu Dapper and I want to write an applet, can anyone recommend me a tutorial? the one at kde.org is for KDE 2.0, mostly I'm concerned with all the glue
<9> angasule: is the kdevelop template not useful?
<23> Renze: didn't know there was one :) I'll check it out, thanks
<9> no problem
<0> angasule: Even if it's for KDE 2.0 it will probably still be useful
<23> Sho_: not the glue, though
<29> hi guys! I have both my desktop and my laptop using gentoo and configured for using utf8 (LC_ALL="es_ES.utf8", kernel NLS utf8, UNICODE="yes" in rc.conf....) they appear to be exactly the same... however, when i want to copy my documents from the desktop to the laptop thru ssh (kde fish:/ kioslave) ALL the filenames that i see in my desktop (from the laptop) are screwed, the accents, all the symbols... all messed up. Any idea about
<29> why this happens? could it be a problem of fish:/ or kde not set to work with utf8 (though qt handles utf8 natively).... dunno
