<0> Ther is no pentium-m march flag.
<1> doesn't pentium4 mostly screw things up?
<2> what?
<3> That's my error:
<3> http://pastebin.com/527961
<4> corrideat: going
<2> [M]erk: yes there is.
<3> Where will I get module up_start?
<0> Since when?
<2> [M]erk: since gcc-3.4.0
<5> Seadog, Its not the dir where the games install
<0> I asked just yesterday in this channel, and I got a different answer.
<6> a pentium m is a pentium III anyway
<7> corrideat: show us your /etc/conf.d/net file
<2> [M]erk: that's not to say -march=pentium-m is the right flag for him, anyway
<8> psycophobia, they should be in something like ~/.wine/c_dribe

<8> *drive
<6> and yes, pentium-m has been valid since 3.4.X
<4> corrideat: do you have your ethernet card/integrated drivers installed?
<7> corrideat: plus, your /etc/init.d command you typed above was wrong
<9> MooingLemur: are you there? you helped me get wpa_supplicant working yesterday, though dhcp was timing out in gentoo scripts. so I just did it manually. well today, even when I start wpa myself manually then do dhcpcd manually, dhcp is timing out. do you have any clues as to what's going on?
<10> corrideat, can you post your /etc/conf.d/net to that pasting site as well please?
<0> Meh, I was misinformed, by *THIS* channel.
<11> kojiro, what should i set to march?
<6> [M]erk: then don't listen to n00bs
<12> nope, I'm not here
<3> Ok.
<3> I'll paste my /etc/conf.d/net
<13> Can anyone advise me on chatbots
<12> and even if I was, I don't know :P
<13> or have experiencewith them
<12> try static IP
<14> This is annoying... I can't figure out what the update changed. Does anone know how to set the default background color of a window (like mozilla or gaim)?
<2> akh3n4t0n: well... hang on, I dunno
<6> TJNII: er what?
<4> corrideat: good
<9> MooingLemur: yeah I had to do everything manually, give myself an IP, set the route, set up nameservers etc... okay, have a nice day :)
<10> [M]erk, did you sign up for the trial support in here or did you pay for "premium platinum magic support" in this channel? ;)
<3> http://pastebin.com/527964
<12> FieldySnuts: then your problem isn't supplicant, but dhcp
<12> :P
<14> mbishop, The background color of windows and menus used to be a light grey on my system. I did an update and now it's dark grey. I need to change it back.
<2> akh3n4t0n: unguaranteed answer -- everyone on google seems to be using pentium-m
<7> corrideat: there's your problem, remove that line
<0> roger55: I got the regular support, not premium platinum magic.
<10> corrideat, that's your problem
<9> MooingLemur: indeed. ok go away, you'r enot here heh
<3> Ok
<0> It was only $666, a bargain.
<3> I'll remove it
<11> kojiro, thanks :)
<2> FieldySnuts: you're telling someone who's not here to go away?
<4> corrideat: remove line 5
<6> TJNII: well from what you said about gaim and mozilla, I guess you mean gtk+, so check out your gtk themes
<9> kojiro: heh
<10> corrideat, see /etc/conf.d/net.example
<12> (I wasn't suggesting it as a solution, just as a diagnostic tool)
<2> !seen MooingLemur
<15> MooingLemur was last seen a couple of seconds ago, saying '(I wasn't suggesting it as a solution, just as a diagnostic tool)' in #gentoo.
<3> But the handbook says for ADSL i'll use it
<2> lol
<3> Ok
<2> hahahah, that's funny
<14> mbishop, Are those in etc, or somewhere else?
<3> Thank's
<10> corrideat, if you want just dhcp you can comment out your line as dhcp is default
<16> is there no possible way to cut paste a patch into a file?? the lines numbers match up and everything but patch fails citing "malformed line"
<3> I'll try
<10> corrideat, just make sure you have dhcpcd emerged
<4> corrideat: definitely make sure you have dhcpcd!
<10> Peper, you want something?
<17> no, just playing around :]
<9> I am having problems with dhcp on my wireless interface. which is confusing, it worked fine before. it just times out. If I ***ign everything manually, there are no issues. any ideas?
<6> TJNII: well, do you use gnome?
<17> but if you already here, maybe you solution to:
<17> strange prob when using tab completition: # ssh [here tab was pressed] sed: -e expression #1, char 20: unterminated `s' command - any ideas?

<3> CPUFreak91, roger55, I'm emerging it, but I use ADSL
<14> mbishop, No, and I've seen this under both Afterstep and twm
<18> Hi, I need to install 'gtk2-devel' package and others, but a lot of '*-devel' packages don't seem to be available with Gentoo. Does someone knows ?
<10> corrideat, well I don't know about your adsl, /etc/conf.d/net.example has some info on it though
<10> fdgds, gentoo doesn't need -devel packages
<6> TJNII: hmm, emerge gtk-theme-switch, then run switch2, it should give you a list of themes
<6> TJNII: see if any of them make it look similar to before
<10> fdgds, you compile everything from source.
<17> roger55: makes any sense for you?
<14> mbishop, All right.
<18> mbishop :) Thanks, I will modify the program installer so. It's about 'trousers' program, a TPM emulator driver.
<10> Peper, I don't use bash-completion here
<18> ooh, sorry roher55 :D
<3> Thank you, I'm tryng it
<2> is there any way to diff files over ssh?
<18> roger55
<10> wow irssi even highlights if someone misspells my nick
<18> ^^
<2> I would like to diff a file on my local machine with a file on another ssh-serving box
<2> roger45, really?
<19> kojiro, mount it sshfs and do the dif :)
<2> heh
<2> sigh
<17> is irssi really so good? better then any gui client?
<2> Peper: try it and find out :-)
<19> it definately isnt as pretty as xchat
<20> hey TLF :)
<21> :)
<17> kojiro: worth trying? ;]
<10> Peper, once you get used to it - its the best.
<18> Another thing is annoying : I installed VMWare tools on Gentoo in the cl***ical way (there's another solution on gentoo-wiki but no way) and it installed properly. I modified /etc/modules.autoconf.d/kernel-2.6 and made a 'modules-update'. Modules are loaded at boot, but nothing loads in /mnt/hfmvs (or hdqsd, I dont reminbd)
<2> Peper: definItely :-P
<10> its/it's
<17> you leave me no choice, switching ;]
<22> I just downloaded firstcl*** in a rpm file and unpacked it right into my root, but the executable only resides in /opt/firstcl***/fcc, where only root can run it. how can a normal user run it?
<2> Peper: plus, what else do you do on the days when you just don't feel like starting up X?
<22> I tried to make a hard link to /usr/bin/fcc. but i dont get the program when runniung
<14> mbishop, Thank you!
<17> kojiro: good point ;]
<23> is there anything special I have to do with slotted versions of db? like with python or perl I have to run a cleaner script, and with gcc I have to run gcc-config: is there a db equivalent or can I safely just unmerge the old one?
<14> I don't know what or why my gtk theme was changed on me, but it's fixed
<17> now am considering whether run it on server with screen and ssh to it or set some irc bnc
<24> Hey! I'm having a problem establishing an ssh connection on a reverse tunnel: "ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
<24> "
<6> screen + irssi + ssh = win
<2> heh. screen + irssi + bitlbeed + ssh = win win
<17> :D
<23> so win + bitlbeed == 2 * win
<17> bitlbleed?
<2> lol
<23> therefore bitlbeed == win
<17> marik: good maths ;]
<25> hey, does anyone know the command to run openoffice? fluxbox-generate_menu doesn't add it and i can't find anything on the internet about it for some reason
<26> how can i make a list of all the applications i have installed so i can find out what i dont want anymore and can remove, and then have a complete list of stuff to install on a new box
<2> marik: oh, good, so my theory pans out :-)
<10> Peper, it can look like this if you want: http://dev.gentoo.org/~roger55/images/screenshots/irssi_on_kde.png
<27> What exactly is the "Broadcast Network Address" in Lisa?
<2> woohoo, slashdot roger55's site
<28> dancen: ooffice
<24> "
<29> Hm, a hdd once had some bad sectors, but now fsck is telling me it's ok. is there a way I can do a more vigorous check?
<17> roger55: quite nice :D you really want to send me your config, don't you? :]
<25> patg, weird, command not found
<10> Peper, no. ;)
<30> arg!!! nautils browser window closes when I click on a FUSE sshfs filesystem....
<17> :D
<30> CURSE they Nautilus!!!!!
<28> dancen: try oowriter first
<2> indigoblu: no, no, it's "Curse teh Nautilus!!1!" :-)
<17> kojiro: what's bitlbeed?
<30> kojiro, i cant get gnome-vfs or sshfs to play my freaking music... grrrr
<27> Anyone know what the "Broadcast Network Address" is for lisa?
<25> patg, command not found again. which is weird, since i had the commands working before i used fluxbox-generate_menu and they were working fine. of course i didn't write them down >_<
<19> Peper, bitlbee
