<0> arcane: then use make
<5> arcane: make uninstall

<6> Ok. I am trying to get conky to display my cpu and case temp. I have it displayed but it is reading 0 for both. I emerged lm_sensors and set it up. Do I need to reboot for it to start displaying the correct temps?
<7> I've got a 1000Mbit ethernet card - do I need to select yes for Ethernet(10 ot 100Mbit) in the kernel config?
<8> raccoontail, both

<8> raccoontail, and neather
<1> Weedy, hmm...so profound. mind if i bug you? :)
<0> Kakihara: no
<8> yes?
<1> lol :)
<7> brianw: thanks - not sure why it was selected by default when it had detected my actual card automatically
<0> Kakihara: the kernel config has nothing to do w/ the livecd
<6> ok. I did that and closed conky. tried to restart conky and got this
<6> Conky: can't open '/sys/bus/i2c/devices/0-0051/temp2_input': No such file or directory
<6> please fix i2c or remove it from Conky
<0> _nagual: did you do what I said?
<6> yes
<0> _nagual: and what was the output?
<6> Where can I paste it. Its a lot.
<10> does emerge keep a log somewhere's of the last installed packages?
<0> _nagual: http://rafb.net/paste

<0> _nagual: does that fiel exist? /sys/bus/i2c/devices/0-0051/temp2_input
<6> hold on a sec brianw
<0> _nagual: exists here, and shoes the temp for me
<0> shows*

<6> file does not exist
<14> using minimal install CD, emerge syslog-ng fails due to an error compiling libol-0.3.17
<0> _nagual: well there you go... what about /sys/bus/i2c/devices/ ?
<15> Shirakawasuna: hey man
<16> is it possible to edit a .mov file ? like adding some motion effects?
<14> ... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
<17> kupo: hi
<15> almost done heh heh
<13> andrownz you could but since you'd be editing an already compressed file the quality would drop
<6> yes that directory existsw
<0> _nagual: the number is different right?
<17> andrownz: I'm not entirely sure how much editing you can do w/ linux....but avidemux supports it, so you could at least convert it to almost anything
<16> thehail1, that's all I have, my camera recorded using that format, what can I do ?
<6> this is what is in the directory brianw: 0-0051 0-0052 9191-0290

<0> there is no boot runlevel

<6> bus driver eeprom name power
<0> wide-eye: boot to the single runlevel
<19> brianw: yes, but how?
<0> wide-eye: or make another runlevel and boot to it
<0> wide-eye: w/grub , softlevel=single
<19> brianw: thanks
<0> wide-eye: probably better to make a seperate runlevel though
<1> mr. brianw: i have decided to stay with making a gentoo livecd of my own
<0> or use the one built in there, nonetwork iirc
<0> raccoontail: coolio
<1> brianw, can you tell me if squashfs has a size limit? i want to put Xorg into it

<14> ah, silly me, used the wrong arch in make.conf :/
<0> wide-eye: and i am an idiot, there is a boot runlevel, of course there is. :)
<6> brian2: it looks like 9191-0290 has listing for stuff.
<0> _nagual: so why is conky trying only one of the dir's... that is the question
<20> holaaa
<6> brianw: http://rafb.net/paste/results/7bllaz13.html is the listing
<0> _nagual: yup that is the chip we want, how many chips is lm_sensors starting>
<6> How do I find that out? newb with lm_sensors. sorry.
<20> hi
<19> brianw: thx gonna try it
<20> where I can lower livecd of gentoo?
<0> chaguito_: lower?
<0> chaguito_: download?

<20> as it is completes version?
<6> brianw: How do I find that out? newb with lm_sensors. sorry.

<20> :)
<20> 10x
<23> systm: gcc -v
<0> _nagual: when you run the command `/etc/init.d/lm_sensors restart` , what chips does it load?

<5> systm: gcc-config -lk
<5> systm: gcc-config -l
<5> (the k was a typo :-/ )
<22> ok

<6> brianw: http://rafb.net/paste/results/ksG41V32.html
<17> kupo: what's up?
<0> _nagual: you may want to change your /etc/conf.d/lm_sensors file to only load w83627hf and i2c-isa
<0> _nagual: no idea if it will change anything
<0> _nagual: you may want to file a bug too...
<24> Hello all - I'm experiencing a somewhat weird issue. I'm fairly new to Gentoo, and have finished setting up KDE, and installing the ATI drivers for my Radeon X600. 3D accelleration appears to work fine, the issue I'm having is, is that all fonts in KDE appear to be about 2 or 3 sizes too big. They appear much larger than they did before I installed the ATI drivers >>
<6> Ok. but I have an nforce2 board.
<25> Oh boy... I'm trying to install Gentoo on an old Pentium II box.... it fails to boot the install CD... error: "isolinux: Disk error 20 , AX = 4200 , Drive = EF ... press a key to retry"
<0> _nagual: but that temp sensor has nothing to do w/ the nforce chip
<25> Ideas?
<0> at least afaik
<20> as it is completes version? "livecd-x86-2005.1.iso" or "livecd-x86-installer-2005.1-r1.iso"
<24> <<However, the screen resolution still shows as being set to 1920x1200. I'm receiving the error "X Error: (Bad Window) Invalid Window Parameter 3" when exiting X, also, could this be related? Pasting my current xorg conf.
<20> in which they are different?
<6> k
<0> _nagual: maybe there is a way to decide which chip is used for conky, but I do not know how...
<26> is there any reason to compile less when one has vim on the system?
<0> chaguito_: -r1 is newer
<24> Here is my current xorg.conf - does anyone know offhand what might be causing this issue? http://rafb.net/paste/results/Tqp0jz11.html
<27> DukGalNamu: no, when one has vim on the system, one should always compile *more*
