I tried reinstalling grub and it had no effect. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on?

<4> RasQule1: No, sorry. What I means is that when grub loads, I don't see the menu from my menu.lst/grub.conf, I see the grub prompt. Then if I type ``configfile /grub/grub.conf'' or the same with ``menu.lst'' everything works fine
