<0> or durin <1> ami, how can i check for sure <0> iam confused <2> sorcerer11: short for set up X11, or Xorg-X11. you should set up X11 after rebooting. <3> does n e 1 know how to get mkisofs? <4> DaggyStyle: emerge kdm doesnt give you the version you want? <4> EMERGE IT! <1> ami, i'll post my error if u want? <5> anyone willing to help me get fastcgi working with lighttpd? <6> I have everything install in 3.5.1 <7> richiefrich, dunno, never needed to do that. but if mplex fails for some error i can say for sure they are not valid <6> but there is not kdm3.5.1 <7> richiefrich, ok, use pastebin <2> sorcerer11: you can set up X11 during the install, but it makes more sense to confirm you have a bootable system before adding too much too it. <3> deviant, theres no ebuilds :P <1> ami, http://pastebin.com/643645
<6> deviant, do I need to wait afew days? <0> **** i knw iam going to be dead <0> when isntallin it <7> richiefrich, have you tried without paths? <4> KyrinComaBlack: app-cdr/xcdroast has it, and a nice gui...will that do? <3> yeah <3> doing it now <1> ami, what u mean ? <4> DaggyStyle: is it giving an error? or whats the problem <7> richiefrich, or uh.. put %d into your output filename.. <1> ami, i dont know how to put a %d in output <1> ami, do u ? <7> richiefrich, -o foobar-%d.mpg for example? :) <6> deviant: i get an now ebuild kdm 3.5.1 and gentoo-portage shows no kdm3.5.1 <7> richiefrich, maybe.. try it =) <1> ami, ok i will thanks <6> deviant: can I use kdm3.5.2 to run it? <8> how do i get my wifi card to quit resetting resolv.conf every time it dhcp's <1> ami, u mean in the mplex line right? <4> DaggyStyle: i believe kdm isnt that much connected to kde...just their greeter, im sure it will work alongside it just fine like that <7> richiefrich, yeah <1> ami, ok thanks again <7> richiefrich, put %d into output file name <7> =) <1> :) <1> will try <6> deviant: so emergeing kdm 3.5.2 will start my kde 3.5.1? <9> Hi, is it just me or does all newer bash-ebuilds in ~x86 have wrong digests? <4> DaggyStyle: it should...give it a try! unless the emerge takes forever...I don't remember...been a while since i used kde <10> does pine handle ssl pop3? <11> how should you merge sth in order to get usefull information to submit a bug report <11> where is the log ie <6> strange, all kde 3.5.1 related pack are gone from gentoo-portage, I think I'll wait a few days, maybe they'll comeback <12> Ok, I have a tapedrive thats showing up in dmesg (scsi0:0:6), how do i find out hwta device name to use for it? <4> RichardP: scsi drives are usually /dev/sda <12> deviant: tried those to no success <4> RichardP: one thing to try is use the gentoo livecd, then run dmesg and lsmod etc to see what they are running for your setup...that should fix the problem <12> deviant: that doesnt tell me what device node in /dev to use tho, its being probed on boot by the kernel and it gives me a lot of info, so i know its available <4> RichardP: try google? <4> Im out...night everyone <13> good morning ;) <14> hi anyone here from australia and use the iinet gentoo mirror? <14> i guess not <11> RichardP: have you tried cat /proc/partitions? <11> or cat /proc/diskstats <15> i 've emerged ethereal but i doesn't run. says unknown command. what to do? <16> Hello all :) <2> B0neTruper: equery f ethereal | grep bin <15> command not found :( <16> Any Qmail / Horde guys out there? Every distribution is different, but the basics tend to be pretty similar. From an end-user perspective you should be able to get multiple distributions to function so similarly the user won't know what distribution they are using without taking a very close look. The primary difference between distributions is the package management system, and how configuration <20> is handled. Gentoo uses a very hands on approach. <21> it has a tethereal in folder yes <20> chimkings, I haven't persued the A+ Certification, so I can't help you there. <21> but not an original ethereal <21> only relatives <14> also knowing how to install gentoo doesnt mean you a linux expert - gentoo has the best documentation anyone who can read can install it <19> ok <19> can u help me on gentoo linux <14> what help do you need <19> everything about gentoo, command and internal comannd <21> what to do with ethereal? <20> chimkings, What have you done so far with regards to Linux/Gentoo Linux? <23> if stuff in a shell script is gonna start on dysplay 0 do i need that DISPLAY= stuff ? <19> well to tell you the true i dont no much about linux <19> but i am a smart guy <19> and i would be happy if you can teach me gentoo linux and linux <19> cos i wanna become a good engineer <19> pls help me jessica1 <2> chimkings: do you by chance have any questions? <14> chimkings: read a book theres plenty in the library or just play around with it yourself no one is gonna hold your hand like a 2 yr old <20> chimkings, have you gone to the Gentoo site? The documentation is very good. Even I got through it with only 2 tries. <24> how would i install ion3? <14> not for free anyway <19> can u give me there website pls jessical <20> chimkings, www.gentoo.org <19> ok <19> thanks jessical <19> am gonna open the site now <20> OK. <25> http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/list.xml <19> thanks guys <19> i love you all <19> thanks chi for your help too <19> thanks jessica1 <26> should i compile tulip as a module? <27> zparta: not if you run it from a xterm <26> i am using davicom ethernet controller <20> Off to bed. <26> so,should i compile tulip as a module? <26> should i compile tulip as a module? <28> hey, does anyone recommend a good ftp-client with bandwidth statistics ? <26> guys, should i compile tulip as a module? <29> koad, flip a coin. <26> why? <26> arbiter_dev: should i compile tulip as a module? <15> command ethereal not found. what to do???????/ <29> koad, because that can tell you just as well. <29> koad, and stop repeating. <15> and the paradox is that it's been merged normaly.... <26> i am in kernel configuration <29> koad, I make support for things I cannot remove during operation built in.
