<17> hi, I'm on Suse linux right now, but want to switch to Gentoo, and keep my dual boot windows setup, my partition layout is: 1) Dell something 2) Windoze, so I have 2 primary partitions left, but I need 3 for Linux (swap, boot, root), should I leave out the boot partition (I was told I could do this) or create logical partitions?

<9> illminime, no, your problem is definitely solvable. Think about it this way. The liveCD kernel contains the module for your network card -- so how can you think it's not in Gentoo?
