<0> what is WITH all these people who have screwed up /etc/localtime?
<1> tama00: no idea, never used it
<2> evilx: CLOCK="local"
<3> humm
<1> tama00: how big is it?
<3> is it really that important?
<0> ezerhoden: what time does hwclock say it is?
<4> reisio, takes up the whole screen
<5> :o
<4> reisio, i tried to forcefully make it smaller in the advance window options, but then the chessboard strunk
<2> Skunky: is that what 'date' outputs?
<6> Privet vsem.
<1> tama00: what should the chessboard do?
<3> yes
<2> Wed Apr 5 05:02:02 EDT 2006
<7> hi all.... trying to install Gentoo, i get "install failed: GLIUtility.py", line 558 in fetch_and_unpack_tarball raise GL ... " ... anyone knows why?

<4> reisio, fit within my screen
<3> that looks right
<2> i just ran ntpdate
<3> for new york
<3> oh
<4> reisio, that way i can see the other side of the board;)
<3> why dont you want the network to start on boot?
<0> ezerhoden: that does not answer the question I asked you.
<8> nanobanshee: I've configured it.
<8> http://paste.lisp.org/display/18652 <== Is glx configured please?
<7> anyone knows why unpacking a tar ball would fail?
<0> ezerhoden: run "hwclock" as root please.
<3> Tokenizer: it not correct
<3> do you got a md5 for the tar ball?
<0> Tokenizer: in what context?
<7> the stage tar bar
<9> xinming: that looks good. did you configure it after you installed chromium?
<7> ball*
<2> Skunky: Wed Apr 5 04:04:39 2006 -0.464945 seconds
<3> get the md5 file and check it
<7> it was successfull
<3> oh
<3> is it bz2 or gz?
<8> nanobanshee: yes,
<1> tama00: did you check man xboard or xboard --help?
<4> reisio, yes
<0> ezerhoden: your hwclock is off by an hour. please reset it, and fix your /etc/conf.d/clock file.
<3> and how are you untaring it?
<8> nanobanshee: But I still get the error
<9> xinming: I think chromium is linked to the old glx. try re-emerging it to link it with the new one.
<0> Tokenizer: in what context are you getting failed tar?
<8> nanobanshee: I have a i910GM video card which is built-in
<8> nanobanshee: ok, bbl
<7> bz2
<3> how are you untaring it?
<3> tar jxvf stage.tar.bz2 ?
<2> Skunky: CLOCK_SYSTOHC="yes" -- is this what i want?
<0> ezerhoden: yes. that'll save the current system time to the hwclock (ie, the bios clock) when you shut down.
<2> Skunky: great, thanks for the help
<10> toaster_> hey, anyone here using idesk?
<10> 00:11 < toaster_> when i type idesk to load im getting Idesk starting in :0.0
<10> 00:11 < toaster_> [idesk] Background's file not found.
<10> 00:11 < toaster_> [idesk] Background's source not found.
<10> 00:12 < toaster_> im wondering what is wrong and how to fix it... i went by
<3> give up on what?
<10> sorry about that
<8> nanobanshee: I've remerged that, But still the failure
<3> im not even here
<10> didnt know how many lines i could post
<3> im so tired
<10> anyone here using Idesk?
<1> toaster_: nope, why?
<11> toaster_: idesk licked my butt, called me sissy then introduced my to keybindings ..
<1> :p
<10> im having this issue
<10> http://rafb.net/paste/results/vYXOLX73.html
<1> I'm pretty sure the fluxbox guide links to an idesk howto or something
<10> i followed it exactly :)

<1> ah, gj :)
<7> hehe... i kept pasting the path to the stage tar... originally i copied the DIGEST path and deleted digest.... i had forgotton to delete the extra . before .DIGEST .... my eyes missed it i guess
<10> and still getting that error
<7> problem resolved
<1> toaster_: do you use a file manager?
<10> nope not that i know of
<10> i was using E17 and just installed fluxbox to mess with it
<9> xinming: ldd `which chromium` | grep GL
<1> guess that's why you're using idesk :p
<10> so if i was on E17 might have been evidence? or whatever its default is
<10> i dont know what to use :( never really configured fluxbox before
<1> toaster_: ya, though I'm not sure it comes with it by default
<10> i was just reading gentoo and fluxbox and they talked about idesk
<12> I'm trying to set up a blank rsh login for a user on a machine, but it says permission denied, I know I shouldn't be doing this but it's neccessary and I don't know anything about rsh, some help?
<1> though enlightenment may as well be called a desktop environment nowadays
<8> nanobanshee: libGL.so.1 => /usr/lib/opengl/xorg-x11/lib/libGL.so.1 (0xb7eb1000)
<8> libGLU.so.1 => /usr/lib/libGLU.so.1 (0xb7e3c000)
<8> and there is the third line
<8> libglib-2.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 (0xb7838000)
<8> I was doubt to be kicked, So... :-)
<10> reisio: any ideas on how to fix this issue? i tried fbdesk and didnt like that :(
<3> desktop shortcuts, they hert
<3> heh
<9> xinming: ldd `which glxinfo` | grep GL.so
<10> well i kind of want a file manager for fluxbox but dont know what to get something to organize my files alittle better then through console :(
<9> toaster_: mc
<13> is anyone else having major problems with php 4.4.2?
<3> there rox
<10> mc?
<13> like seg faults all over the show
<3> midnight commander
<3> it console app
<3> it like xtree gold
<3> back in the dos days
<3> Nazzy: why not move to 5.x ?
<9> toaster_: emerge app-misc/mc
<8> nanobanshee: libGL.so.1 => /usr/lib/opengl/xorg-x11/lib/libGL.so.1 (0xb7df0000)
<13> evilx: because i haven't had chance to test any of my code on 5, and i'd rather not break it any more than it already is
<3> 5 is actually pretty nice
<10> does gentoo have its own filemanager?
<3> toaster_: try rox
<0> toaster_: xterm
<3> it a gui filemanager
<14> toaster_, no, you can use whatever is available ...
<15> toaster_, kinda.. emerge gentoo ;)
<10> well i want a nice gui filemanager
<8> nanobanshee: where I did wrong? :-/
<14> toaster_, konqueror (kde) or nautilus (gnome) might be interesting then
<9> xinming: I have no idea. everything looks okay.
<3> rox.sf.nert
<3> rox.sf.net
<3> i found it nicer then konqueror or nautilus
<13> evilx: maybe so, but can you promise it won't break my code? :P
<8> nanobanshee: thanks anyway
<3> if it dont work, you can unmerge and remerge 4 back into place
<13> true, but how long will that take? and i'm stuck with a broken site in the mean time *shrug*
<3> how fast can you compile it?
<14> Nazzy, quickpkg --> make a binary package for fast re-install
<13> DrEeevil: mmm, *ponders*
<3> Nazzy: 5 has alot of nice new stuff
<14> Nazzy, but ... any deps of php5 might also have to be recompiled, so you'd have to quickpkg them too
<7> quick question... which stage distro should i dl? .. i586 i686 or non_specified
<14> Tokenizer, what CPU? usually i686 is ok
<7> p4 2.8
<3> i686
<3> but that if your doing stage 2 >
<3> stage 1 wouldnt matter
<7> stage 3
<1> Tokenizer: I hate you :p
<3> i hate my roommate
<14> reisio, slow box?
<10> woo i like the look of rox :)
<1> don't call my precious 797MHz slow :(
<1> :P
