<18> Hi all: I'm having trouble getting my ide DVD-RW drive to work at all (keeps claiming no media inserted). I loaded ide-cd, which loaded cdrom and shows it as /dev/hdb. Its not creating /dev/cdroms/cdrom0. Any suggestions?

<8> For a long time my network cards have been very strange. First, it boots up a random network device eth0, eth1, eth2, or multiples. Also, I only have two devices, and one is actually firewire, but I have firewire disabled in my kernel. Also, firewire is sometimes eth1 and sometimes eth2. I just want two devices and I only want wired to start by default.
