<0> QT4Dance, It is part of xorg-server. Do equery b libGLcore.so
<1> I am trying to start superkaramba as root via sudo in a KDE autostart folder...but it is not working. Same line from file pasted to shell does work however
<1> any ideas as to why this is not working from autostart?
<2> <0>, I found it in mesa :D equery files mesa
<3> RagnaRoC, "doesn't work" doesn't contain much info
<2> Thanks
<1> dli: There really is not much more to it then that. If I knew source of problem I would not have to ask, eh?
<1> nothign happens
<1> superkramba does not start from sudo line in text file placed in KDE autostart folder. period
<3> RagnaRoC, check logs, or try to start in a debug mode
<1> hmmm
<4> could someone help me to format my ipod?
<1> dli: no debug mode for that app...trying to check logs
<5> lng: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Using_an_iPod_With_Gentoo_Linux

<4> Evil_****: it doesn't cover my question
<5> lng: sry then, never tried it myself
<6> lng, Why would you want to format it
<7> RagnaRoC: might want to dump "sudo env" to a file from that autostart
<4> Infirit: just decided to format it
<7> RagnaRoC: it might not have $DISPLAY set
<4> Infirit: it's long story
<1> marienz: That very well may be it. I think it is having a problem connecting to X for some reason....how would I do what you suggest?
<6> lng, You can format in 2 fs's vfat and apples filesystem.
<4> http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=346736&tstart=0
<7> RagnaRoC: I don't know how kde autostart files work so I'm not sure.
<4> Infirit^^^
<7> RagnaRoC: having it execute sh -c "sudo env > /tmp/envdump" might do the trick
<4> Infirit: here's my problem
<6> lng, For use with linux it would recomend vfat..
<4> Infirit: how to format it?
<3> RagnaRoC, try export XAUTHORITY=$HOME/.Xauthority in your .bashrc, or, try ssh -X -Y root@localhost, or try sux instead of su
<6> lng, Then do mkfs.vfat -f 32 /device
<4> Infirit: how about fdisc?
<6> lng, correction mkfs.vfat -F 32 /device
<5> hi |AlcoholicA|
<4> fdisk
<8> hey, Evil_**** tetn
<5> lng: fdisk creates partitions, not filesystems
<6> lng, fdisk will only remove/create a partition not format
<4> Infirit: ok. Buffer I/O error on device sdc2, logical block 472849424
<4> Buffer I/O error on device sdc2, logical block 472849424
<4> Buffer I/O error on device sdc2, logical block 472849423
<4> Buffer I/O error on device sdc2, logical block 472849405
<1> dli: Thanks for infor. playing with a few things now
<8> Evil_****: theres an e-woud here :)
<5> :)
<9> pls give me that command again
<10> [15:41:25] < Infirit> lng, correction mkfs.vfat -F 32 /device ?
<9> yep!
<6> lng_, mkfs.vfat -F 32 /device but you have bigger problems...
<9> Infirit: what?
<9> Infirit: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=346736&tstart=0
<6> lng_, Buffer I/O errors are not good.
<11> when is ff 1.5.1 ebuild going to be released?
<9> Infirit: what does it mean?
<3> lng_, it's write protected?
<9> Infirit: it's almost brand new
<9> dli: nope
<9> sdc: Write Protect is off
<3> lng_, bad driver or it's broken
<9> dmesg^
<9> dli: updater doesn't fix it either
<6> lng_, Try running dosfsck first before formatting.
<3> lng_, anyway, play with the write protect thing, maybe it's indeed protected
<9> what might caused such problem?
<12> xz: lol! we have confusing nicks :P
<1> marienz: I ran above command to dump variables as root, ok?
<9> dli: how to play with it?
<7> RagnaRoC: that's not interesting if superkaramba works when run that way.
<3> lng_, switch it the other way
<9> dli: it's usb
<1> sudo is not allowing me to run it from normal user after I entered myown p*** for user rather then root p***
<7> yeah, that sounds like env stripping to me
<7> is $DISPLAY set?

<1> for user yes it is set
<1> DISPLAY=:0
<9> how to completely destroy partitions, filesystems and reformat it then?
<9> # mkfs.vfat -F 32 /dev/ipod mkfs.vfat 2.11 (12 Mar 2005)
<5> lng_: fdisk
<8> lng_: throw your box out of your window
<6> lng_, mkfs is enough
<7> RagnaRoC: in the env dump for root?
<9> |AlcoholicA|: that's an ipod
<9> :)
<3> lng_, dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/ipod count=1 , but don't do it :)
<8> lng_: it will be destroyed too :)
<13> What channel should I go to, to get some help with the writing of drivers?
<7> RagnaRoC: if it isn't you'll probably want to look into the "env_reset" or "env_keep" bits in sudoers
<9> |AlcoholicA|: i'm on groud floor
<13> dli, LoL @ iPOD dd
<9> ;)
<6> dli, That will definately destroy the data :)
<9> dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/ipod count=1?
<1> marinenz: env_reset is uncommented in /etc/sudoers
<8> lng_: i think it puts everythng to 'o'
<13> lng_, what do you want to do? you need to get rid of some data?
<9> '/mnt/ipod/ ot /mnt/sdc[1|2]'?
<9> or^
<6> lng_, in .dev.sdc
<6> dev/sdc ...
<9> madnificent: i need to completely remove everything, even partitions
<9> Infirit: sdc is not reognize
<13> lng_, and do you know of any firmware that is on the disk (aka, have you tried if it will boot with another disk)
<1> marienz: may I query you?
<5> lng_: then use fdisk /dev/sdx and delete the partition
<7> RagnaRoC: srue
<7> sure, even
<8> lng_: you run gentoo on your ipod? do you have fdisk?
<9> |AlcoholicA|: noope
<9> fdisk yes
<5> |AlcoholicA|: he wants to format the ipod
<14> Aye, i'm going crazy.
<8> lng_: fdisk <device> (/dev/...)
<9> (/dev/...)?
<15> does anybody use acidrip ? i want copy my dvd to my harddisk..
<13> lng_, I think you can find the drivers for it rather easy (I guess they have to be on a separate partition (which is good :-)); put the disk in your pc, dd if=/dev/zero of=/path/to/disk, create right partitions and add firmware)
<8> press p to see the layout and press d and then the partition nmber to delet it
<14> How do I find deep dependancies, I have this error that app-text/poppler-bindings needs app-text/evince but evince is not even installed.
<13> lng_, and that removes all the pr0n from your iPOD! :-D
<9> fdisk /mnt/sdc1 Unable to open /mnt/sdc1
<8> lng_: /dev/sdc
<15> does anybody know how that i can copy my dvd to my hd ?
<9> dev lng # fdisk /mnt/ipod/ You will not be able to write the partition table.
<5> lng_: do fdisk -l to see your device list
<8> lng_: fdisk /dev/hdc
<9> http://pastebin.com/536968
<13> kuRupT, dunno, but google should help :-)
<13> kuRupT, if you really want a basic intro, try to search for ubuntu with it, the n00b OS actually offers some good howtos :-)
<8> lng_: sdb is you ipod?
<5> lng_: fdisk /dev/sdb
<9> |AlcoholicA|: this is weird
<9> wait
<5> no
<14> Will someone please talk thge time to help me figure out why gentoo is trying to install a dependancy of a package that's not even installed!?
<5> this can't be
<5> ipod isn't 160 gb
<15> madnificent: ROFL... i want just copy that shiat to my pc ^^
<7> exonic: pastebin the -vpt output
<16> kuRupT: language please
<16> and yes, that counts
<15> doc|work: sry =)
<9> lok here: http://pastebin.com/536971
<9> look
<13> kuRupT, you could dd it, then you can mount that image (if all is good)
<15> madnificent: but how? i dont know how.. :(
<13> kuRupT, but it is no conversion to Xvid of whatever :-)
<17> how do i confirm which video card i have installed under gentoo, or list all hardware
<13> kuRupT, it seems to be, they are talking about it here right on the moment :-)
