<0> akaias: drag them in or right click the panel
<1> wolf4911: possibly
<2> yubimusubi: Heh.. If he truely wanted a challenge, he'd go LFS. :p
<3> Psi-Jack: Ya, good point
<3> Psi-Jack: Sad thing is, he's enjoying it
<2> yubimusubi: That's sad?
<3> lol, good point
<4> Half-Left, ok, dock was the wrong word. i mean to have running applications in the status bar, like windows
<1> wolf4911: you still here?
<0> akaias: not all apps support running in the statusbar, you mean notification panel?
<5> yes
<4> Half-Left, no, when you start a program I no longer get its "title bar" in the lower status panel. I mean the functionality that wondows has when you run a program. I have no idea what the offical term is.
<1> wolf4911: if you want to check the fs try reiserfsck and then the partion you have that file system on
<1> wolf4911: also make sure you are root
<5> I believe I already did it
<5> ot it was another box - anyway I will run the check

<0> akaias: oh you mean the panel that shows the application as a bar?
<5> Thanks for your help
<6> Gah i still cant figure it out !
<1> wolf4911: no problem
<4> Half-Left, Yeah! That sounds like it
<0> akaias: right click the panel and pick the Windows Selector
<7> i guess they could be related.. i didnt think it would have any aftereffects
<0> right click/add to panel
<8> can someone help me with something ... xcompmgr and sdl don't seem to play well with one another
<8> my window that uses SDL (qemu) is somewhat translucent even though it shouldn't be
<4> Half-Left, bah, thats not it either. I don't know how to say it besides how the taskbar in windows works. gnome used to have this functionality, and my lower panel reset and I can't get it back.
<3> tlhiv: did you try disabling xcompmgr?
<4> (the functionality I describe, I have the panel)
<8> yubimusubi: can that be done for a single window?
<3> tlhiv: Otherwise, use 'transset 1' and click on the window
<8> yubimusubi: it works fine if i disable xcompmgr globally
<8> yubimusubi: that doesn't seem to work
<6> is there anything that i can change that will fix me from resolving 1.0.0.0?
<3> tlhiv: Ah, sounds like a problem I had with planeshift...never got it fixed :/
<8> :-(
<3> tlhiv: sry.. :(
<8> i've tried running it inside an Xnest
<8> but not luck because it seems to crash it
<9> xnest is weird heh
<3> tlhiv: Why do you want to run qemu and xcompmgr at the same time, anyway?
<8> yubimusubi: i run xcompmgr all the time
<8> and i occasionally run qemu
<3> tlhiv: Ahh, I see...
<0> akaias: you've lose me, do you have a bottom panel?
<8> yubimusubi: the only "fix" i have is that i place a totally black window (like xterm) behind it
<8> but that's not too elegant
<10> how do you regen your .Xauthority?
<10> mine seems to be borked
<3> tlhiv: Ew, yea that's ugly
<8> no kidding
<11> can someone on a standard gentoo install show me gentoo's default PS!?
<8> yubimusubi: that's why i would like to get the xnest solution working
<11> **PS1?
<4> Half-Left, yes, I added a new bottom panel. I put the time/date and the show destop options back. But now when an application is running it does NOT show up in the bottom panel. there is no button with the program name that i can click to bring to front or minimize or right click to close.
<3> tlhiv: hrm...Idunno the xnest solution :(
<8> me either ;)
<12> \[\033[01;32m\]\u@\h\[\033[01;34m\] \w \$\[\033[00m\]
<8> any other thoughts on placing the qemu window on top of something black?
<12> I think thats the default. Pretty sure.
<13> Why firefox emerged from source is worse stable than packaged firefox-bin?
<0> akaias: oh, thats the Window list
<12> rutski89: ^^
<11> beandog: cool, ty :-)
<12> np
<14> g'day all... i just remapped my caps_lock key to be backspace (RSI issues...) and i can't get it to autorepeat... any suggestions?
<3> tlhiv: well you could set your desktop as black, but then that's another ugly solution...or you could write a wrapper script (don't ask me how) that would kill xcompmgr while using qemu
<0> akaias: right click the panel/Add to panel/Window List
<4> Half-Left, thanks, thats exactly what I wanted. I guess the description in the panel adder wasnt what I was looking for.
<8> yubimusubi: it seems that the wrapper script (which i have written) might be the best thing for now
<14> ahh.. xset
<0> akaias: my fault, I meant to say Window list
<3> tlhiv: Ah, you could make a shell script, something like "killall -9 xcompmgr ; qemu <parameters> ; xcompmgr <parameters>
<3> tlhiv: Or is that about as bad as your wrapper, lol
<8> yubimusubi: that's basically what i have now
<4> Half-Left, no problem, thanks.
<3> tlhiv: Heh, well that would be my quick-n-dirty solution :(

<8> yeah ... oh well
<15>
<16> wow
<17> robs
<17>
<15> =)
<16> thanks GenBot ;)
<14>
<18> np
<19> is this error in fdisk a big deal? "Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary."
<12> heh
<16> are we done now kids?
<20> now now children.
<14> whitespace whitespace ... ..... whitespace
<15> nooo =)
<17> I mean you can't see it
<14> whitespace
<11> Hmm, I can't seam to conotrol the color of the flashing cursor with PS1; it changes colors between three other colors in my PS1 and even to 1 color of the shell that i had before i did su -
<14> lol
<6> where are the make.profiles?
<3> Thanks GenBot
<18> sure thing yubimusubi
<21> systm: what do you mean? what are you trying to do?
<6> i deleted my /etc/make.profile
<6> on my xbox
<12> Anyone else have a streamzap remote?
<19> sooo now that you got that out of your system... is this error in fdisk a big deal? "Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary."
<21> systm: profiles usually live in /usr/portage/profiles/
<16> waxbolt, just for a little while
<6> ok
<21> systm: I do not know where the xbox one is though.
<6> its gentoox
<6> so its the same
<6> now the cmd is "ln -s /etc/make.profile
<21> systm: iirc there is no official xbox profile. I do not know how the unofficial one works.
<22> are you able to use a cron to send emails via pine or is there a different way to send e-mails (with attachments too!)
<17> waxbolt, I thought you were banned
<22> like with system information
<16> alex6x, nope, he just can't talk
<6> no i just ment the system was xbox not the profile
<23> how come GAIM is bringing in packages from GNOME when I have -gnome set in my USE variable??
<12> because they are deps
<16> D2DChat, because it has a hard dep on gnome?
<17> D2DChat, don't you hate that? it's one of the deps of gnome
<23> that's pretty dumb
<0> oh come on, thats like saying why can I not install amarok with kdelibs
<3> D2DChat: you could always settle for bitlbee over irssi...that's what I do
<0> without*
<24> what is break my gentoo?
<3> I can't compile arts without qt! What?! (j/k)
<23> GAIM failed to emerge because it was bringing in this package: sys-fs/sysfsutils-1.3.0-r1 failed.
<23> why??
<21> D2DChat: why did it bring in the package or why did the package fail? :)
<23> both
<23> ;)
<25> re: arts: suggestion: don't compile it :-)
<3> kojiro: Agreed.
<21> D2DChat: for the latter I need a build log
<15> ubuntu >> gentoo
<25> troll >> robs
<15> hrhr
<23> !!! ERROR: sys-fs/sysfsutils-1.3.0-r1 failed.
<23> !!! Function src_compile, Line 566, Exitcode 2
<23> !!! emake failed
<0> use kopete instead, you'll need qt, kdelibs, arts lmao
<21> mzbot: teach D2DChat error
<15> D2DChat >> kojiro
<26> D2DChat: To inform us about a problem, you need to give us the /fault/, not the error. Error lines that begin with "!!!" or "make" are of no use to us. Fault lines, like "foobar.o: no such file or directory" or "undefined variable cabli" are. (details: http://mzz.mine.nu/faq/error)
<25> cat /dev/urandom >> robs
<3> w00t
