<5> the thing that is actually bugging me with that xcompmgr is that it doesn't always apply transparency correctly (fluxbox's menus essentially). The _NET_WM_WINDOW_OPACITY is set it just doesn't affect the window (it seems to me like the prop was added to fast for it...)
