<5> Why oh why is my boot process giving me grief now? I can presume, perhaps, that falling back to terminal 1 is a failsafe of some kind resulting from a service taking too long to start. But WHY is it taking so long to start? And even more importantly, why doesn't the boot process continue until I switch back to terminal 7?

<5> _ibz: I've never messed with sendmail. And the system has been booting fine until now. What I've done today is the first time anybody's messed with settings/configurations etc for about 2 weeks. I just reenabled sendmail and rebooted...the problem has returned.
