<0> tek_: huh? Seems to work fine for me
<1> Didn't for me
<1> got a port error
<2> EvilBob, hehe I know how that is
<0> tek_: the ssl config used in fedora is a virtual host in it's own configuration file
<0> tek_: your error sounds like a syntax problem
<0> tek_: May have been an order problem where the external file got include before or after a virtual host in the main config depending on how you did it
<3> i booted into windows
<3> finally
<4> screw this I am going back to windows, I keep loosing parts now that I run Linux
<4> s/loosing/losing
<5> lol
<0> EvilBob: You are blaming Linux for hardware problems?
<4> Oh wait, that is not fair, I have WAY more parts now
<4> Edgan: why not?
<3> EvilBob, are you being sarcastic?

<2> hehe
<6> How did you make out Geren?
<5> geren: nope he is being Seriously Sarcastic!!
<4> Edgan: someone has to be blamed for me losing my mind
<0> EvilBob: Go for the old cl***ic, the devil
<4> Edgan: I think it is the penguins fault
<3> RadSurfer, it turns out i was missing the NTDLR and boot.ini files in my windows root directory
<7> k back\
<8> someone must ALWAYS take responsibility for our own inadequacies
<2> EvilBob, wait isn't that Sonar_Guy's fault for you losing your mind
<3> RadSurfer, so i just copied them again from a cd
<7> tried getting peng to work to but no luck
<3> and resconstrcuted my boot.ini
<6> From what I've learned, if you install windows 2nd, you have to re-install grub, is that what you learned?
<4> Sonar_Gal: no he was out of town when it happened
<7> crashed my ppd
<7> ppp
<2> EvilBob, no wait that's my reason for losing my mind
<3> RadSurfer, i didnt reinstall windows
<4> LOL
<6> if Windows went in 2nd. I said.
<5> Clepto: hold on a sec try this http://fedorasolved.com/viewtopic.php?t=88 look for Alternate Installation Instructions: that should work.
<7> ok
<6> Or on a different partition maybe. Trying to learn as I go...
<5> Once you get that working then you can do the livna.
<8> geren: how did you p*** the entrance exam to columbia?
<8> just curious .. you seem dumb as dirt to me
<4> LOL
<6> Geren: So it is working now ??
<8> take it as "mean" or "rude" .. i'm just being honest here
<3> RadSurfer, yep
<6> thats all that matters.
<3> yea
<3> lol
<6> welcome aboard !!
<9> anyone know why system-config-network tells me to use python's logging instead? Here's the actual error http://pastebin.com/662571
<3> thanks
<7> ok and what is this for?
<7> its still loading
<6> Now the real fun begins ;)
<7> 9600 baud...
<0> jdiggy: fc5?
<5> Clepto: old school ndiswrapper installation instructions.
<9> Edgan: yea sorry FC5 :D
<9> it was working about a week ago
<9> Clepto: 9600 baud...wow now that's some speed
<7> ah
<9> lol
<0> jdiggy: I get the error, but get the window too. It does hide behind others though
<9> Edgan: I'll check again
<5> Clepto: that works for everybody, with no issues.
<0> jdiggy: The error relates to the deprecation of the call rhpl.log from rhpl. It is basically saying rhpl.log is going away in the future and system-config-network should be rewritten to stop using it.
<5> you may need to tweak the commands based on the current binary version.
<7> k heh just realized something
<7> lspci doesnt work...
<7> with fedora core 4
<0> Clepto: as root?
<5> As root it better.
<7> and its asking me to run that
<7> i am using su
<0> Clepto: su or su -?

<7> and it isnt
<4> damn I hate this, I finally find the motherboard for testing this CPU (looked for a week now) and now I can't find the heatsink
<0> Clepto: try /sbin/lspci
<5> Clepto: su -
<4> I just want to scream
<5> EvilBob: lol
<10> Hey Sonar_Guy
<7> there it goes
<0> EvilBob: hehe, I just moved unpacking has been fun.
<5> hey loquitus_of_borg
<4> Sonar_Guy: FWIW, I asked Clepto to do this about 8 hours ago
<9> Edgan: nope definatly not running I minimized all windows and it still won't open
<5> What the modem deal?
<7> hmm and heres the entry for my wifi card 01:09.0 Network controller: Texas Instruments ACX 100 22Mbps Wireless Interface
<4> Sonar_Guy: Who knows
<10> Any of you guys know why my system is giving me grief saying that access is denied to /etc/fstab? What I did was I was editting it and had a backup in another directory, so I overwote /etc/fstab with the backup that I wanted to use. Now when I reboot the system, it just dies when trying to access /etc/fstab during the bootup process
<0> jdiggy: does it return to the prompt in the terminal window if you hit enter?
<10> Do I have to do something specific if I actually overwrite a file like /etc/fstab that way?
<7> its cuz your a borg... sheesh
<9> Edgan: nope just hangs
<10> Clepto: ok
<0> loquitus_of_borg: sounds like you hosed fstab or the permissions are wrong
<11> I ve plugged in a thumb drive in FC4 How do i access it ?
<11> could someone help me out?
<0> jdiggy: that would suggest it is running
<4> loquitus_of_borg: FC5?
<0> jdiggy: check top for activity
<10> Edgan: I changed the file's permissions to 777 just for fun, and it made no difference!
<9> linux__alien: check /mnt/usbdrive i think
<10> EvilBob: yes, FC5
<5> Clepto: Hush and follow the procedure I gave you.
<7> k
<4> Sonar_Guy: Good luck with the "hush"
<3> are there apps that allow me to access ext3 partitions in windows
<10> EvilBob: all I did was restore it back to a copy of itself... I am 99% sure the contents of the file is not suspect
<4> geren: yes
<3> EvilBob, what is it
<4> geren: google knows about them
<0> loquitus_of_borg: how much did you change the contents of fstab?
<11> no jdiggy i dont see anything called usbdrive in /mnt
<0> loquitus_of_borg: ok
<12> linux__alien: should be /media actually
<4> Oh thats right you can't be bothered to consult the google
<0> loquitus_of_borg: selinux enabled?
<4> silly me
<11> wolsni, no its not there
<11> too
<10> Edgan: ok. here is the story. I was not logged in as root and I proceeded to edit /etc/fstab. Could not save the file obvviously, but I did not want to lose my changes, so I just saved it to /tmp/fstab. Once saved, I su'ed as root, and copied /tmp/fstab to /etc/fstab and then changed the file to be owned by root:root
<10> Edgan: I don't know about selinux.
<0> loquitus_of_borg: sounds like a likely selinux label issue
<11> wolsni, should i install any package ?
<0> loquitus_of_borg: You need to disable selinux or run a relabel. Disabling selinux and then doing the relabel is probably easiest.
<0> loquitus_of_borg: Personally I disable SELinux during the installer, because of such stupid issues.
<12> linux__alien: if it's not in /mnt or /media it may not have automounted
<10> Edgan: I am booted off the rescue disc and have chrooted my hard drive's filesystem... so at this point, how do I actually do what you are saying?
<8> i'm glad i don't live near new york .. i just may hunt and maim geren
<12> you could try manually mounting it
<11> wolsni, so how do i mount it then?
<8> fdisk -l
<0> loquitus_of_borg: an easily way would be reboot, at grub, e for edit, down arrow, e for edit, <space>selinux=0<enter>, b for boot
<8> find the usb drive .. usually sda1
<9> Edgan: ok I don't see it in top...but is there a way to search in top for a process?
<8> then man mount
<0> loquitus_of_borg: then if it boots, relabel
<3> i just downloaded expore2fs, unzippe it, double clicked on the binary, and i'm now seeing my linux partition, all under 1 min
<10> Edgan: relabel is an executable?
<3> lets see you do that in linux to access a windows partiton
<0> loquitus_of_borg: no
<3> i rememmber spending 10 mins typing yum...
<3> doing fstab
<3> mounting
<3> fdisk -l
