<0> jm_: thanks for suggesting i look in the apache-ssl package's control files. it turns out that the postinst only asks you to generate an ssl cert if /etc/apache-ssl/apache.pem doesn't exist. so by touching that file and then running ``apt-get -f install'', configuring the package skips the cert gen which fails

If root creates a file in UID 1000's home directory, and changes the permissions to 0000 and the ownership is set as root.root, UID 1000 should not be able to delete the file correct? That isn't what is happening on my cpu under xfs and at least one other person's under ext3.
