<0> abrotman was that to me?
<1> !mrtg
<2> mrtg is probably old, use rrdtools instead. Check out http://ee-staff.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webtools/mrtg/mrtg.html and RRDTOOL is at http://www.uni-ulm.de/~rbawidam/mrtg-rrd/
<3> ooo reportbug -k \o/
<3> -k == --kudos
<4> i gotta reboot kona. Tothwolf: don't suppose you know how i can write out a list of commands, ie starting ircds, to run when the pc starts. Cron is a time thing so i don't see how it can help :-/
<5> Anyone know how to change colors in the 'most' pager (used by man).
<6> abrotman: now it seems to behave a bit better
<6> bloo1: I'm not sure if it's going to reliably behave correctly yet, but I have better things to do and I'll probably play with it more next week
<7> Where can I find docs about how to get mouse working on laptop debian installation. (probably some problems with /dev/psaux or something)
<4> err
<8> !tell _Codex -about gpm
<4> wrong window.
<9> heh ese nick Duro_De_Peinar

<10> i've got my domain server configured, the samba is running but the clients machines says that they cant find the domain. what can cause that?
<10> the clients can ping the server
<11> pm_: both smbd and nmbd are running?
<10> Rubin yes
<11> pm_ is there a #samba? its really a complex program to configure, you might need specific help

<12> i'd like to script the deletion of lvm partitions, but due to some bugs, some are open still
<13> Does one need the gstreamer codecs for kde?
<14> hi :)
<13> I got the noatun-plugins and the kdemultimedia package, but the wiki.debian.org page on codexes states I need the gstreamer stuff....
<14> Does anybody know if a concurrent linux solution exists to counter Windows SUS servers, that manages and centralize updates for windows stations for all the workstations (to save broadband ie) and things to be deployed on many stations ???
<15> any way to export thunderbird accounts or gaim accounts?
<16> what version of libcgi-session-perl was in woody?
<7> Hmm, I couldn't get the mouse working even on gpm. And in X, the cursor doesn't move no matter what I do. (and even creating the /dev devices seems to require modprobe mousedev etc)
<16> Spear: are you talking about a linux solution for windows issues? or are you looking to make your own local debian mirror/repository?
<15> where is the gnome termcaps file (to change the default launch size)
<17> is there any way to change the primary group of a user being domain authenticated over winbind?
<17> where is the mapping stored, I've seen the range in smb.conf but don't know where this is stored
<14> Sorry Supaplex, i meant a linux solution for windows issues
<18> hello, what way/program/script would you recommend me to upload files on a remove ftp server to update www site using Linux? So far I have used mc and then I uploaded files manually. But it's tedious work when changes are done frequently.
<19> sewi: does it have to be ftp? can't you use rsync?
<20> Spear: Is that not like asking a cow how to solve a pig problem?
<21> is there a way to tell what kind of ram you have by typing some crazy command
<22> not really
<20> !moo
<2> mooooooo! I am cow, hear me moo, I weigh twice as much as you. I'm a cow, eating gr***, methane gas comes out my ***. I'm a cow, you are too; join us all! type apt-get moo.
<22> sewi: use rsynch with ssh keys and restrict the key to only use rsync
<23> how can I get rid of "Message: device: default" which shows up sometimes when I play audio files from the CLI?
<19> valdyn: what's the command to probe the motherboard?
<18> stew: I don't know, I've got only information that I can upload files by ftp and I must check if rsync is possible
<19> sewi: can you ssh?
<23> stew do you have any idea?
<24> help please
<19> sifi-xz: how are you playing them?
<19> brekerzz: if you have a question, ask it
<24> stew : im newbie with ubuntu
<19> brekerzz: wrong channel, you want #ubuntu
<18> stew: I'm rather newbie in that so I must ask the host.
<23> stew, it is radiostreaming from XMMS through a downloaded playlist file
<24> but the same debian isnt it?
<25> brekerzz: no
<26> heya i need really help i have same issue for two days now and nobody can help me 10.0.0.1 connect: No buffer space available when i do host and No buffer space available when i try to do some other things
<19> sewi: if you can only use ftp, you can recursively put an entire directory structure with ncftpput (or many other tools) i don't know if they have to ability to only copied changed files, check the manpage
<24> wooo
<25> brekerzz: Ubuntu is similar, but also very different sometimes
<24> hiks
<24> ok thanx
<27> !tell brekerzz about ubuntu
<26> Anyone ?
<18> stew: I'll try ncftpput, thanks
<24> i just want to get operate it
<25> brekerzz: ask in #ubuntu

<24> but nohing there cant help me
<19> Chance: can you show us the output of "free | grep Mem"
<24> they are to busy
<25> brekerzz: ask again later
<25> brekerzz: sorry, we cannot help you here
<24> ok then
<24> thanx

<26> stew Mem: 254928 252472 2456 0 56216 81328
<19> sifi-xz: i'm guessing its only going to go away by editing the source
<26> that is the output
<23> stew, the thing is that the output "Message: device: default" show uprandom times, I would like it to never thow up and it's not depedning on the .pls file
<19> Chance: actually can you run "free" again and show me the Swap: line?
<26> stew Swap: 979892 0 979892
<28> hi all.... i have a strange thing happening with a debian system i maintain.. it is running dhcp3 and bind9 in dynamic update mode, everything worked, but suddenly it stopped updating bind, without a reason i can see.....
<26> stew used is 0
<28> any hints?
<19> sifi-xz: "default" is most likely referring to the alsa device named "default", but I still don't think you are going to be able to get rid of it, you could always just redirect xmms output to /dev/null
<28> no errors, no logs, whatsoever, it just doesnt update anymore
<19> Chance: that all seems ok to me, i dunno then
<23> stew, well, I am
<29> Chance, your system seems healthy.
<19> sifi-xz: redirect stderr as well then
<26> but then what is wrong ? i do a restart to the service bind and then it works again
<26> but then after a while does this again
<26> and i can't use my bind server
<30> hi how do i change sources.list for aptitude to look for .deb files in my local disk?
<20> I would fix that.
<26> it's sad i cant find anything related on the web that looks similar to my issue
<23> stew, thanks, I hope it will work
<31> hi everybody
<32> Failed to fetch http://debian.uchicago.edu/debian/dists/testing/main/source/Sources.gz Bad header line
<32> What is going on here?
<25> penguin: did you try another mirror?
<30> penguin, do you know how to modify the sources.list for aptitude?
<25> sophie^: please do not ask random people
<25> sophie^: just edit /etc/apt/sources.list
<33> penguin: just hold a couple of minutes it is probably beeing updated
<25> sophie^: or run apt-setup
<33> that happens to me all the time
<32> Will do. So the problem is on the other end?
<31> I am interested in the build processes on the ftp-master, particulary the autobuild scripts. Does anybody know where can i get them?
<30> how do I edit sources.list? :( sorry i'm a newbie
<25> penguin: I can get it fine it seems
<26> stew can this issue be because of kernel ?
<25> sophie^: try apt-setup
<32> How do you resize this chat box?
<32> I cant get to the bottom of X-chat
<25> penguin: this depends on which client you use
<25> and window manager
<32> Gnome
<25> sunnemer: you mean the autobuilder network?
<34> I'm getting an error with find, but only on my debian box. it's complaining about the syntax but looks ok to me :-/. find /home/reind/ -name backup* -mtime +7
<32> Bottom is covered by a bar.
<32> You need to quote the backup*
<34> penguin ah ok thanks
<29> penguin, move it first before resizing it?
<32> I cant move it high enough to get to the bottom of it.
<29> penguin, try moving it by holding down alt, then clicking and moving in any part of the window.
<32> That wont move it up or down only sideways
<31> azeem: yes
<32> I need to resize to take up whole window to reache the talk part.
<29> penguin, ask #gnome then. they seem to have disabled moving a window outside of the screen.
<32> OK
<25> sunnemer: http://www.debian.org/devel/buildd/
<35> how to rip ISO with skipping read errors?
<31> azeem: great big thanks
<19> Chance: whenever people ahve random problems, especially memory related, running memtest is often a good idea
<36> rmrfchik: It wont be an ISO if it got errors, but you can try to grab as much data as possible from a broken disc with dd. Read the manual on how to skip on read errors.
<37> stew: I ran that..but it took like 30 mintues and it still kept going...how do I know when it's done
<35> beardy, I want to rip Playstation disk for emulator.
<36> rmrfchik: And it's scratchy?
<35> beardy, no. psx disks has unreadable track
<38> rmrfchik: you're supposed to use dd to rip a psx disk, look at google for more help
<39> is liferia
<35> bobbens, i think, i found recipe how to rip with cdrdao
<38> rmrfchik: i'm pretty sure the best way is to use dd, but you can try with cdrdao
<35> let's see..
<35> damn, how to map /dev/hdb to ATA:a,b,c?
<35> ATA:0,1,0?
