<0> kingnerd: i dont care, just stated stpid fact
<1> tuvwx, sorry, I don't. btw, why did you need to get rid of the governor? couldn't you use performance?
<2> bye guys
<3> Can somebody tell me how to custom kernel header sources. I don't know what "-I/usr/src/linux/include/ to your command line when compiling" means.
<4> Eulex, could it be my bios' acpi or it is just the module? the module didn't used to install in previous kernels
<5> miki: somehow I doubt monkeys could smelt metal into tools to become part the neolithic etc... etc....
<1> tuvwx, maybe
<3> I made my kernel with kpkg but headers are missing.
<3> and there are no apt-get headers for this kernel.
<6> beered: make-kpkg kernel_headers ?
<7> I have this error when i start LDAP "main: TLS init def ctx failed: -1" nobody know where is my problem ?
<4> Eulex, performance is a scaling_governer and acpi is a scaling_driver.. i had to have to governers to be able to remove the driver
<3> tarzeau: that easy, huh?
<6> beered: yes
<4> Eulex, i couldn't have "no governers"
<0> kingnerd: fact that monkey can use things like wooden sticks or even fire makes em somehow neolithic

<3> tarzeau: that's not right.
<6> es it is
<1> tuvwx, yes, I know the difference, I just confused them earlier. wouldn't performance have the same effect as having no governor?
<5> miki: no that makes them stone age perhaps
<8> hi
<3> tarzeau: it's too easy.
<8> what app can I use to rip cdaudio to mp3 ?
<4> Eulex, i tried that but acpi still reported "in use" when i tried to remove it
<1> RazaMetaL, abcde
<9> I would like to be able to use "autopsy" from the menu of kde. This would involve starting autopsy, which is command line application and invoking Konquerer to the url : http://localhost:9999/autopsy. This is quite a bit more complex than my skills will allow. Help?
<4> Eulex, now that i don't have a driver, the whole cpufreq directory is gone from the /sys tree
<1> tuvwx, heh, ok
<0> kingnerd: well... we could argue about that but im not in mod... very discussable thing tho
<0> heh
<10> am getting problems opening a raw socket with a user account : ERROR for sendto : Invalid argument
<11> how doy ou know what tax forms to use?
<10> why should this happen, and not happen with root ?
<4> Eulex, that's too bad.. i guess i'll have to live with the clumsy p4_clockmod..
<12> RazaMetaL, RipperX, grip
<13> Hello, I have trouble with the default papersize in my system. '/etc/papersize' is set to a4, as well as the cups system. I've set LC_PAPER to 'sv_SE.iso88591', and uses the 'media' option of lpr/lp to force a4 as well. Printer is HPLJ5N on JetDirect, printer system is HPIJS/Foomatic/CUPS. Any ideas/further suggestions?
<14> when I start X on gnome an error pops out saying
<14> Error activating XKB configuration.
<14> Probably internal X server problem.
<14> it doesn't give much information
<1> aFlag, is this unstable?
<14> no, sarge
<3> Can somebody translate this for me: The directory of kernel headers (version 2.6.15.5) does not match your running
<3> kernel (version 2.6.16.5). Even if the module were to compile successfully, it
<3> would not load into the running kernel.
<14> http://homepages.dcc.ufmg.br/~rafaelc/error.png
<14> that's what i get
<15> what do i need to install to make a gatweay computer ... ie 2 network cards ?
<12> aFlag, do you actually have any problems apart from that?
<15> one to lan one to wan
<14> no
<14> just that
<12> aFlag, I wouldnt worry unduly
<14> well, i don't want it to come up on the screen everytime I log in though
<1> aFlag, check .xsession-errors
<16> anyone here who doesnt have gimp installed, would you be willing to install it and take a screenshot of the default configuration for me?
<15> sparr im sure theres just a .gimp file
<1> sparr, as I said a few hours ago, can't you find that on gimp.org?
<15> what do i use to make a router/gateway computer .. two nics jsut not sure what to install.
<6> yggdrasil: iptables
<17> This is probably a pretty esoteric and/or trivial operation, but is there a command to remove a kernel package?
<15> ip tables huh thatnks
<16> Eulex: what i recall with debian seems to be unlike what gimp.org says the default should be. if debian has a different default then i have some harsh words for the package maintainer
<18> Squall`: apt-get remove <target kernel>
<17> thingfish, awesome
<17> thanks
<14> Eulex, there's nothing too unsual there I think
<4> Eulex, where such a conflict should be reported?
<4> Eulex, snd_atiixp and acpi_cpufreq
<19> sparr, maybe the package maintainer has good reason to change the defaults?
<20> I know this is annoying but do anyone know when gnome 2.16 is going to be in unstable or etch?
<14> this is what i have on my .xsession-erros: http://rafb.net/paste/results/CSIOZ742.html
<1> sparr, I don't think so. you could try removing the .gimp directory in your home directory.
<1> tuvwx, the bug tracking system, or if you upgrade to the latest kernel version and it still persists, ask the kernel mailing list
<16> jdhutchin1: then i want to hear it. i missed out on some great features that are apparent in the default layout but not in what i had.
<4> Eulex, is 2.6.15 the latest?
<1> tuvwx, no, 2.6.16 is

<3> I have kernel_headers compiled. How do I direct the installation to /usr/src/linux/inclide/?
<21> I'm looking for a floppy disk image that will allow me to boot a CD, can anyone point me in the right direction please?
<22> AngelGabriel, google for "small boot manager"
<23> I have php4-mysql and mysql is running, I can connect to it with phpmyadmin but i have an aplication that generates the error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect(), with package does contain that php function, mysql_connect ?
<23> !php4-mysql
<24> Bazy: add mysql to your php.ini, it should already be there though
<23> !mysql-client
<21> KingNerd is going somewhere very hot when he dies! lol
<18> hah. I've seen more out of john waters' movies.
<25> thingfish or a roger waters song, for that matter.
<18> hehe right
<18> anyway I though I had that ****er /ignored.
<26> Hmm. Updating my xserver seems to have borked the X symlinks...
<23> bbrazil safe_mode is Off, and mysql_connect rules are in that php.ini , I guess the php aplication could be the problem, on a FC5 server it work's ok... guess I'll have to check it out more... could it only work on php5 ?
<5> AngelGabriel: Mere superstition
<26> Will I have to fully reinstall x, or what should I do?
<24> Bazy: for php5 you'll need the mysql-php5
<18> man, I need to buy a power supply and a video card. why does this crap have to be so expensive.
<5> AngelGabriel: Angels don't exist anymore than pegasus exists
<26> thingfish: Because hardware requires skill, as opposed to software.
<18> I mean there's no way I'm buying a cheap power supply.
<5> AngelGabriel: That "pegasus flies" is an absurd proposition
<26> KingNerd: Pegasus could exist. Flying is iffy.
<18> freeone3000: true.
<18> KingNerd: your claim to know the ultimate nature of reality is as arrogant as the religious.
<27> lo freeone3k
<25> thingfish, why buy a power supply at all? get a solar panel and a car battery.
<12> freeone3000, are you missing more than just rgb.txt?
<27> di you add themodulepathto your /etc/X11/xorg.conf
<26> tim_flatus: I'm missing my X simlink.
<28> did anyone upgrade X today?
<26> tim_flatus: When I derefrence it with ls, there's NOTHING there.
<18> shogunx: hard to get hooked up to this motherboard, that's why.
<27> I did 2 days ago
<12> Irrumator, yes
<27> been there done that
<6> !seen cahoot
<29> cahoot <n=radix@pdpc/supporter/active/cahoot> was last seen on IRC in channel #debian, 57m 12s ago, saying: 'tarzeau: yeah I guess he wants it that way too ;)'.
<28> It seems everything is botched again for me today
<5> thingfish : the ultimate nature of reality is the sum total of all states of affairs
<27> works 85% ok
<28> won't let me startx
<26> Yeah. The other 15% is evil.
<25> thingfish, soldering iron and heat shrink tubing?
<28> too bad I was curious and restarted X :-)
<26> Odd, that's exactly the same thing I did.
<27> one of my montiros I cant get to 1280x1024. other than that its good
<18> KingNerd: the ultimate nature of reality is unknown by humans.
<26> Except it was because of refresh probs.
<26> thingfish: Or are we the ultimate nature of reality?
<18> :/
<27> I have not tried to get glx to work yet
<27> will tonight
<28> freeone3000: Well, I upgraded half an hour ago to 7.0.11 - are we running the same versions?
<26> thingfish: You can't catagorically prove that anything besides yourself exists.
<27> need blender to work
<12> I dont feel so bad now.
<26> Irrumator: I'm running unstable.
<27> me too
<26> GLX? Heh. If possible, I need that as well.
<18> freeone3000: the rhino that gores you when he charges you down will convince you of his reality.
<12> no Im on etch - 6.9
<28> What version of x11-common do you have installed?
<26> thingfish: How do we know it's a rhino?
<18> freeone3000: you will not need to have to give it a name.
<26> Irrumator: I am using irssi. I have no X. I have no idea how to do thing that I would do graphically in console, like... switch windows.
<30> hi
<18> I hate beginner philosophy games.
<28> Uhm.
