<23> dannythm: if you don't know exactly where partitions started and ended, it's very tricky

<23> dannythm: you could try recreating the partitions but if you screw up, things go bad. which is why i suggested to clone the disk, then work on it.
<24> on one of my debian sarge machines, doing a ps aux displays the uid if the user name is too long; on another sarge box, the user name is always shown but truncated if it's too long - is there any way I can have that behaviour on my other box?
