<0> !pl
<1> pl is probably sometimes referred to as "packet loss", or polska -> #debian.pl
<0> primax: ^^
<2> sorry
<0> Zav: disregard my PHP stuff
<3> yohu123: did you know that testing is intended for testers who would discover problems and report them?
<4> asg: right, i'm not actually using php
<0> Zav: yeah, don't know what I was thinking there at all
<5> hi
<0> !fsck /dev/hda2
<1> e2fsck /dev//dev/hda2 : warning! filesystem contains idiots!
<6> Gnea: I have looked into this. I learned a lot in the last week. I'm very happy about this! I was able to build a debian installer with a custom kernel but I get a kernel panic...
<4> the reason i came here is that it is just the standard debian apache2 package
<0> o/~ badblocks badblocks, what they gonna do ... o/~
<4> i'm trying to avoid recompiling it myself
<7> sebas007: best to test the kernel before throwing it in an installer

<0> Zav: you might check the READMEs in /usr/share/doc/apache2*
<4> asg: thanks, i will
<0> Zav: also, do you get an error that LocationMatch isn't recognized or just that the regex doesn't match
<4> no, no error
<6> Gnea: the kernel boot ok, on the ide drive
<4> asg: just doesn't match. If I do LocationMatch /foo, it matches, but that's the opposite of what I want
<7> sebas007: do you have a digital camera?
<0> Zav: oh, okay.
<8> im stuck with a (probably silly) mount question. i cant seem to be able to create any directories in a root mounted drive
<4> asg: nothing significant in /usr/share/doc/apache2
<7> dman: did it get fscked?
<4> guess i'll go bother some apache people
<9> Flash for firefox? Should I use the swfdec-plugin from the repos for mozilla?
<10> against which package should i file a bug if my nvidia drivers simply do not accelerate?
<3> dman: would you paste the output of 'mount' and the output of the 'mkdir' that doesn't work?
<8> Gnea, easier, its got to with access rights, cant seem to create any dirs on the mount (mounted by root)
<11> bkudria: probably the bkudria package
<12> Anyone know how I can control xine with a joystick (tried #xine, google etc, any www to point me in right direction appreciated)
<13> sebas007: if it boots ok on the ide but not the sata, check to make sure its built in, not a module for the sata driver
<8> tralala, ok
<6> Gnea: yes... I do.
<10> abrotman: error: that package is non-existant...help!
<3> dman: not in the channel if it is more than 3 lines
<11> bkudria: i'm sorry .. were you talking to me? :)
<7> dman: is it mounted read-only?
<10> abrotman: no, seriosly...i tried everything it has to be a bug
<11> bkudria: did you try the nvidia one-liner?
<7> sebas007: you should take a picture of the screen when it panics and post the picture someplace
<14> bkudria: nvidia-glx installed?
<11> bkudria: which version of X ?
<10> abrotman: many times
<6> liable: the problem is the d-i does not even see the controlor of SATA.
<10> streuner: yes
<10> abrotman: sid latest
<0> sebas007: /msg dpkg sata
<8> tralala,Gnea: fstab:/dev/hdb /home/tlx/bittorrent ext2 defaults 0 1
<11> bkudria: i think it's a known issue
<13> sebas007: yes i realise that, i thought we were talking about your patched kernel?
<7> dman: you can't mount a whole disk, you have to use a partition
<10> abrotman: oh? really? what bug #?
<3> dman: and you can't write there as an user?
<8> tralala, as root
<11> bkudria: not sure .. i don't use nvidia .. check the bts for the nvidia-glx source package ...
<3> oh, I didn't notice the hdb part at all
<14> bkudria: what does 'dpkg -l libc6 | tail -1' say?
<11> bkudria: or check the xserver-xorg
<8> Gnea, seems to mount ok
<7> dman: but it's wrong.
<7> it doesn't mount ok
<10> abrotman: 2.3.6-7
<7> you have to use /dev/hdb1 or something
<15> for some reason, the axis of scrolling on the mouse is ackward. When I scroll up and down I move side to side.
<7> because.... that's how it works.
<14> bkudria: what does BTS say about (nvidia-glx)?
<8> tralala,Gnea: mkdir: cannot create directory `hold': Permission denied
<10> streuner: looking
<7> dman: thank you.
<3> dman: and be aware of riaa and mpaa
<7> dman: you've just proven me right
<8> Gnea, i should mount /dev/hdb1?

<10> abrotman: do i dop something special to check the bts for a source packages vs a regular package?
<14> bkudria: there are a bunch of cards which aren't supported by nvidia-glx...
<15> for some reason, the axis of scrolling on the mouse is ackward. When I scroll up and down I move side to side.
<10> abrotman: of just type in nvidia-glx?
<6> Gnea: the message I get from the custom kernel on the d-i is the following: Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknnow-block(1,0)
<11> bkudria: should be bugs.debian.org/<package>
<10> streuner: mine is...i have an geforce 6600gt
<7> dman: be sure to umount it forst
<3> dman: do you want how to make partitions and filesystems?
<10> abrotman: thanks
<3> s/want/know/
<8> tralala, the drive has one partition, and ext2 as filesystem
<14> bkudria: zless /usr/share/doc/nvidia-glx/README.txt.gz
<6> Gnea liable it is a little documentation of my experience :-) http://wiki.koumbit.net/DebianInstallerSurMesure
<8> Gnea, unmounted
<7> dman: change the fstab entry, and mount again
<10> streuner: it *is* supported...according to that, the dev id is 0x00F1
<14> bkudria: the card is supported
<10> streuner: plus, it worked before
<10> streuner: i know!
<16> # Appears as ANNA
<17> # Appears as XENO
<14> bkudria: did you choose 'nvidia' to configure or 'nv'?
<13> streuner: you an op on oftc?
<14> liable: no, why?
<13> streuner: you set /topic?
<8> Gnea:mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hdb1
<14> liable: /topicprotection is off there...
<13> oh :)
<10> streuner: using the nvidia driver...and glxinfo ssys direct rendering enabled
<3> dman: so, once again do you know how to make partitions and filesystems?
<10> abrotman: maybe #366910? how do i check my kernel module version? because i compiled my own...
<11> !dbugs 366910
<1> #366910:I[nvidia-glx] Inconsistent && broken installation of nvidia-kernel-... and nvidia-glx possible; Fri, 12 May 2006 02:03:02 UTC
<14> bkudria: its not helpful if you using your own kernel, just install an official one and try again
<10> abrotman: but, i can load the modules fine, and everything looks rosy, but no accel
<10> streuner: i *do* use the stock kernel
<11> i thinkt that means the nvidia driver verision .. but i'm not sure
<8> tralala, thought i did.. created an ext2 filesystem on the drive this morning, did not make any partition (probably was only 1 on disk)
<11> yay for not owning nvidia stuff!
<8> tralala, this is related to the permision issue im having?
<3> dman: man fdisk; man mke2fs
<3> dman: as Gnea said you can't use the whole disk, you have to have a partition. So create one, create a filesystem on it and configure your fstab properly. It will work as a charm.
<10> abrotman: i guess i'll try another compile cycle :)
<8> ok, tralala. i'll check it out
<11> bkudria: or ask #nvidia if they have any bright ideas
<6> Gnea liable: did I lost you in my french documentation?
<10> abrotman: i did. they were all stumped
<11> oh
<13> sebas007: sorry, i am half comatose and too lazy too read it :( /me is off to bed soon
<18> hi :)
<10> hello
<18> anyone using open2300 here?
<13> !anyone use open2300?
<1> No, no one uses open2300, not even the people who use it.
<18> LOL
<13> :)
<10> that was cute, guys
<19> Can u do anything to control the order of drives in linux? I need /dev/sdac to become /dev/sda
<14> bkudria: did you read zless /usr/share/doc/nvidia-glx/README.txt.gz
<14> ?
<19> sdc->sda even
<10> streuner: several times. my eyes bleed
<18> :) anyone want to see a cool debian powered website ? with weather information?
<14> bkudria: well, just file a bugreport then
<10> streuner: after this last attempt, i will
<18> aptitude purge apt-get
<13> since when is having broken dependancies not a bug?
<18> :)
<6> liable: no trouble. I'm also trying to get help on the debian-boot channel. would it be a good place?
<18> rm -rf
<18> :P
<13> sebas007: if anyone knows that stuff, its those guys :) whether they can take time to help.. (its pretty much a dev channel)
