<0> Hello <0> I've been struggling with a domain registrar who refused to accept one of my nameservers. <0> They finally agreed that they could "register" the nameserver, although its name service was already fine, afaict. <0> Their FAQ has a puzzling entry that I can't make heads nor tails of: http://www.aitdomains.com/faq.php#ns2 <0> If the nameserver in question already has an A record, why would it need to be registered again, and why in various TLDs? <1> hi Wulf4
<2> goods <2> anyone here can help me with named plz ? <3> MalMen: don't know... don't know what the question is ... <3> alphus: it would seem they are trying to answer different question types in the same document. the domain registrar has to p*** the domain NS info to the TLD authority. sounds like their clerical staff doesn't really understand what they are doing... <2> i want have a nameserver on my server... i have 2 ips, and some configs... like ns1.malmen.info and ns2.malmen.info .... at some weeks ago i as seted fernandogaspar.info to that ns's and it is working now... tomorow i as seted tbytes.info to thats ns's.. and are not working.. whats can be the problem ? <3> MalMen: It looks like your not fully setup yet on NS your servers. I'm getting server fail from both elite-project.net (62.193.245.171) and wpc3080.amenworld.com <3> (62.193.245.133) <2> need reverse to ns1.malmen.info ? <2> ... <4> Hello <4> on dnsreport i get that my dns server is a "lame nameserver", i cant find out what is the problem <2> lurker99 there ? <4> anyway could give me a hand for solving a problem of "lame nameserver"? <5> how can i make all queries resolve to one specified addres <6> * IN A 1.2.3.4 <7> Hi... how do I, er, bind named to a specific IP on my server? <6> listen-on? <7> yes that's what I"m trying to do <6> search the bind9 arm for `listen-on' <7> very good
<7> that's what I was looking for thanks <8> could anyone tell if this is correct => http://dark-code.bulix.org/66me3c-8236 ? <7> grrr.. I have a server with 2 IPs. we'll call them .25 and .26.... I have a listen-on directive: listen-on port 53 { xx.xxx.xxx.25; }; Indeed the server is listening only on .25, however whenever it goes to do a zoneupdate from my primary it is trying to do it from .26 and being denied!! Any ideas? <0> add a route to the primary on .25? <6> MattH: read the bind9 arm <6> MattH: transfer-source or sth like that <9> Wulf4, hello, are you there? <2> hi <2> anyone here ? <10> hi <6> moin <6> MalMen: if you need some help, just ask your question and be patient. <2> yes <2> ill do that <2> only check here something from not do desnecessary questions <2> ill put all on pastebings now :) <2> every time how i set a domain to my nameserver i need put it http://pastebin.com/725963 <2> ? <2> nots possible do that automatic ? <6> is pastebin broken? <10> just very slow <2> yeah, pastebin in last times as very slow :X <2> Worth Wulf4 as see anything ?
