Our BDC's (all nt 4.0 servers) are still operational, but i cant access the user accounts on them - guessing mainly because it cant contact the 'pdc' which is the 2k3 server. Now, is there anyway i can get the BDC's to open open user accounts manager just so i can install 2k3 server on it and upgrade. Im in the risk of losing all my network *sadface*

<0> Got the bdc (nt 4.0) up and made it a pdc. Why i had a mixed enviorment? Company is too cheap. Where im standing currently: Got a Pdc, getting a temporary bdc going (nt aswel) gonna install win2k3 and upgrade. Then grab that win2k3 and make it a DC with AD. Then, grab a new sever we just bought and install a fresh 2k3 server with AD aswell. Gonna get a 3rd AD server going also. This should keep me safe if there's a hardware glitch in any of the 3

<0> I dont think so, i know that the 2nd hard drive kicked in when the 1st failed. This worked without any problems. Now - when i tried to 'rebuild' the 1st drive within the Intel raid controller bios management, the machine acted funny and must of done something wrong.

<0> Well here's the catcher, when rebuilding the 1st failed drive from drive 2-3 the rebuild process was halted manually by my coworker in my absense. This im sure is where everythig got messed up.

<2> well, if the replaced drive is even 1 byte smaller it won't work
<0> i didnt swap it out, left it in it's slot. When it failed, it rebooted on it's own and when it was booting up it used drive 2. Again, not sure why it didnt repair drive 1 (the failed drive) to begin with.
