I can now boot into Vista, and sometimes I can even boot in with USB enabled, but sometimes it locks and I have to boot to a repair console and rename c:\windows\system32\drivers\usbuhci.sys to usbuhci.old. Does anyone have any ideas what causes this, an <3> disable some usb support in the bios? <17> I have, but the thing is I would like to be able to use my USB devices in Vista, and without USB support, I cannot.
<3> how is the pc? <3> old <17> Also, I don't have many BIOS options, and I can't disable USB within BIOS... So, I am forced to rename the driver file from a recovery cmd prompt. <17> It's about a year old, but all hardware SEEMS to be compatible. <3> u ran the vista advisor <3> havent had that prob. google away with that usb option in the search and see what u get <17> I have googled, and because the product is so new, there's nothing on google about the problem. <17> Also, yes, I ran the advisor and it finds NO problems, not even minor ones. <3> vista bought? <17> Yes, it's an Upgrade version of Home Premium. <3> prob clean install wont do. since its upgrade <16> bah, finally got my Logitech headset to run in vista <2> good for you <16> indeed... <18> god damn vista is beutiful :) <19> so are my balls <20> how do i get dx9 games to work in vista? <20> i.e scarface? <21> dunno man, hit google see whatcha get <20> i did <22> how do you edit the programs that load on startup in vista? <11> edit the registery <22> are you joking? <22> i know theres a place in vista that is more user friendly than that <11> are you wanting ways to turn off things that startup? or add? <11> msconfig.exe gives options to remove <11> I personally alwasy go right to the source, in the registery <22> well i just installed dreamweaver <22> i don't know why but vista slows down once logged in <22> im in safe mode now <22> ok i see it <22> thanks <0> does anyone here have a zune and use vista <1> Thought Kris had a Zune <0> my buddy has one <0> and he is here for the weekend <0> and he is on my network <0> there is a little zune box that shows up in network places, at least i think thats it <0> just trying to see why it is there if I cannot access it <23> hey guys, im about to install a fresh version of win vista, i have two partitions on my pc, C:\ and D:\ vista will only format C:\ drive to install, right? <4> it will do whatever you tell it to do <23> ok, call .. cuz it just brought up the "install now" button without asking me what drive <23> cool* <24> Har Lock <4> i'd boot of the cd myself <4> er dvd <1> Polo, any luck with that Gigabyte board info yet? <23> do i need to format the partition manually or will vista do it by itself? <1> Vista can do that during the initial setup phases, just pay attention to what you're doing <23> so no need to click on advance settings and format it myself? <1> Well, yeah, that would be a good idea if you're doing a clean install... personally I always delete the partition I plan to use, recreate it, then format it, then continue <23> thats what i do with xp too, just feels wierd with vista <1> Get used to it :) <23> dont wanna lose all the data i have in the other partitions heheh <23> yeah guess so <1> As long as you choose the partition you want, highlight it and make sure it's highlighted before the next click, you should be ok <23> great <23> wont go next cuz theres less then 10gb of free space on that partition =) hehehe <23> i guess i do have to do it manually <1> Needs 15GB to install, might install with less, might not <23> the format was quick, it got its 74gb to install <23> thanks for the info <0> sup peeps <25> lo Chris <26> good rip out yet? <27> Hi, if I have windows xp installed and create an extra partition/install vista to that, will everything boot normally to both os's? <14> yes vista will add it's own boot loader <26> wheres the good copy floating around? <27> Just buy it if you want it. <26> not worth it when a free copy is avail <26> i wana try b4 i buy <27> Fair play.
