What happens is when I goto double click the connection icon it doesnt do anything and when I look up ipconfig it doesnt have any ip for it nor gateway IP. It is a PPPOE account and I use the xp networking software to create it. It happens even before I run the anti virus/spyware scans. which means its most l <14> which av software? <16> Kaspersky and panda, Ive used both and it did the same thing, also with spy sweeper. <14> I have kasperski and have no issues at all <15> sup roti <14> you should remove the connection and create it again <16> already tried that <14> what error are you getting? just cannot connect?? <14> when you double click the connection you created, what exactly happens?

Also I notice the connection somes aquiring network address or something similar. <16> hmm <16> which part? <14> its not kasperski. I am sure of that <16> yeah I dont think its the anti virus directly <0> fyi its kaspersky. <14> all of the drivers for your ethernet card <13> =_= <14> are you using a router? <16> No, no router. <14> just a connection to your DSL modem? <16> Yep <14> should be piece of cake. sounds like its a driver issue <16> Oh ok, so something must be getting messed up like a driver file when I install these programs than. <14> go into device manager and uninstall then reinstall the driver for your ether card <16> alright <16> I will try that <17> nu e man myndig. <0> ? <18> he speaks in the deciples tounge! <14> and dont install off wall stuff. only standard stuff <16> I am going to install Panda again right now, and Ill see if that works or not. <14> you only should have ONE av program <16> Yeah <14> if you install Panda, remove kaspersky <16> I only was using one at a time, its just one wasnt working so I tried the next later. <16> I dont have either installed right now <14> do you have firewall? <16> Zonealarm when I was having that problem <18> maybe run a winsockfix? <14> zonealarm should be fine. <18> ?? winsockfix <10> winsockfix == <not Defined> <18> ?? winsockfixxp <10> winsockfixxp == <not Defined> <18> !google winsockfixxp <10> http://www.wilderssecurity.com/archive/index.php/t-73956.html <18> !google winsockfix <10> http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=257 <14> I would try reinstalling the driver first <19> ?? winsock <10> winsock == Winsock fix tool -=- http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html -=- http://www.idiots-guide.org/ts-winsock.htm -=- Compatible with Windows 95, 98, ME, 2K, XP -|- http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm <19> :) <16> alright <16> Ill try that first, then if it doesnt work Ill try the winsockfix <14> then before installing anything, try to connect <16> alright <14> let us know how it goes <16> btw which one would be better to install, I have both <16> I need one that doesnt use too much memory <14> I personally like kaspersky <14> its not memory heavy <14> and you can set 3 different levels <16> ive heard its the best anti-virus so I think ill give that a try <16> cool cool <16> well thanks a lot <14> np <13> i use norton :P <18> you do? <14> norton and symantec sux <19> really? <14> the only product thats worth it now is Ghost <13> yeah <18> startkeylogger <18> ;) <13> lol <19> do you have logging turned on? <19> aw, Phiber0pt beat me too it <13> i never had that`key loggrer issue
