<drusscol> I'm trying to copy the registry from what was originally an exact copy of my system (on a different hard drive) to the original. I copied sam, security, system, software, and default, but it boots to a welcome screen with no usernames listed. what did I forget to copy?

<drusscol> ok, so my windows install shat itself on drive X. I imaged it to drive Y, and have been tinkering with drive Y. I know the problem's in the registry somewhere, and want to move it back to X so I can see if I fixed it

<drusscol> repair installs haven't helped - in fact, it seemed to be what caused the problem in the first place
<drusscol> windows was working except for system restore, I did a repair install, it stopped booting. now, on drive Y, it boots, but explorer and iexplore don't work
