<0> zonelabs was installed but installed improperly and the installation was damaged
<0> i should have thought to run lspfix then i probably would have seen it
<1> i told you, i'm just a show maker, not an expert. but shoemakers somethimes knows where ppl walt through :P
<1> shoemaker, i mean
<1> and walt/walk ... err . writing too fast
<0> sometimes all it takes is someone to talk to
<1> yes, so we remember
<0> you either say the solution in describing the problem, or they suggest something right in front of your face that you just overlooked
<1> exactly
<1> gargan, that anti-virus i never heard b4. is it good?
<2> What anti-virus?
<1> nod32
<0> nod32 is very good
<2> I like it =)
<0> i run it on all my computers, all our business computers, and all our customers that will believe me
<2> way better then norton in my opinion

<1> hm, i need to update my surfing
<0> WAY better than norton
<0> runs a lot faster, detection is just as good if not better, and stays out of your way
<3> nod32 ons
<3> owns
<4> only way to fix it
<1> so it doesn't take too much resources as norton, for example.. good database virus def.?
<4> ^-Lord-^: segmental wont be getting voice no more now :)
<4> ?? nod32
<5> nod32 == <not Defined>
<3> kew
<4> ?? nod
<5> nod == get nod32, one of the best and low resource antivirus programs out their, recommended by Leo Laporte
<6> how do I go about adding a 1394 network adapter in my network connections window? One of my workgroups shows it while another doesn't and I can't remember the process that I went through to get the network adapter installed in that window
<1> hmm, very good to know it. thanks guys. thanks gargan. time to go. good weekend 4 all of you
<4> Sonarcade: its just firewire, should be added their automatically once the drivers are installed
<3> I still use SAV corp 10 for job, but in my own systems, nod32 is it baybee
<6> oh, it says int he device manager that windows can't load drivers for this device (1394 net adapter)
<0> later cenoura
<4> Sonarcade: get the proper drivers then
<6> I would've figured that the built in firewire would've already had the drivers installed
<0> cenoura: if you're still here, yes it has one of the best virus databases, updated sometimes two or three times a day if need be
<0> it also detected the wmf exploit before a lot of companies
<4> Sonarcade: dont ***ume
<4> ok work time
<4> later :)
<6> ok
<7> heh
<2> bbl

<10> boker tov

<11> Anyone ever notice that outlook 2003 takes longer than outlook XP to grab new messages from exchange? If I send an e-mail to myself, it takes like 20 seconds with outlook 2003 to get it, and with outlook XP it takes 2-3 seconds.
<12> Harvard, I believe outlook 2003 works on a cached mode always, and checks for updates on on regular basis.. Outlook XP and lower works off of a live connection to the exchange.
<11> Phiber0pt: I wonder if that is configurable
<12> yea
<12> goto properties for your account nad uncheck "Cached mode"
<12> but it increases server traffic
<11> that doesn't make a difference in response time for me
<11> it seems that even when it's not on cached mode, it only pings the server for updates every so often
<3> cached mode ****s ***
<2> >_<
<2> Can I get voiced?
<2> Hey nerd
<3> **** it's like a monday in here
<3> my phone has not stopped ringing all morning
<13> here is a wierd problem .....my dvd burner wants to burn everything in cd format...... can I change this somehow.....been working good since I bought it last yer....
<13> any thing I can do to adjust this back....tried uninstalling and reinstalling my burning program (nero)
<14> perhaps changing the media type to dvd before burning
<13> did that
<14> what makes you think that its burning in cd format?
<13> put it to dvd tab .... then I put in a dvd disc ........ set it up to burn a iso 700+ mb and i says it wants a CD
<14> what version of nero?

<13> 6.3
<15> youre trying to burn an iso that originated from a cd
<8> indeed, taht file is a cd iso
<15> you cant just burn a cd image on a dvd
<3> why not?
<14> yes you can burn it.
<14> i am thinking its because of the old version of nero.
<14> i burnt a cd image on dvd a few days ago, worked fine. But i was using nero 7.
<14> alcohol 120% will burn it too
<13> but if a iso comes out in 755 mb doeasnt it have to be burnt onto a DVD>
<15> ...
<15> no
<16> overburn
<15> no
<15> iso files are larger than a cd, when u burn the image, it will fit on a cd
<14> that makes no sense at all
<15> when u make an iso, it could very well be larger than 700MB due to header bull**** etc
<15> the actual cd data is not larger than the disc
<15> so when u burn the image, it fits
<14> do you have a site or some other source of information that will prove this?
<14> i would like to read it for myself.
<15> no just experience
<8> indeed, easy enough to see with most any iso. burn an iso, then look at space used by total contents of cd, and space used by iso file on your drive
<15> bofh`: exactly
<12> yea, I burn 720/750 mb ISO files all the time to CD-R all the time
<15> proof enough magikman?
<14> nope... i want to see more :)
<15> good luck then
<15> or make an iso
<15> and check it yourself
<14> nope
<8> bah, don't hvae any isos around that I've also burned, and not going to rip somethign to iso just to prove magikman wrong. ;)
<14> i hate making isos
<15> ok then
<15> dont worry about it
<14> i am not saying that you are wrong... i just want proof
<8> heh
<14> :)
<14> hehe
<5> :)
<15> well u can make your own proof
<14> that isn't proof enough
<15> that makes sense
<14> indeed
<15> ...
<14> man i am bored...
<14> and you are no fun any longer :/
<17> Liss?
<13> well tried the overburning option on my nero and still same error
<15> durn it to a cd
<15> burn*
<13> size of iso i am trying to burn is 732mb
<15> did u not read that conversation?
<15> IT DOESNT MATTER
<13> yeah
<17> use a dvd
<13> tried setting it to do a overburn
<13> tried a dvd but it ask for a cd
<14> please update your nero version and burn the image to a dvd.
<15> or burn to a cd
<14> or if you don't want to do that then download a trial version of alcohol 120% and use that. whatever you do, do it, and stop bothering us. :)
<16> question guys
<16> taking 5 tylenols at once
<18> me too :/
<16> would that cause any problems?
<18> read the bottle :)
<14> tylenol is bad for your liver.
<13> wow so much for tis being a ****en help channel....ask a simple question and get **** upon
<18> my winxp key has been used 25 times to activate so I can't use it anymore?? ahh!
<14> i wouldn't take more than what is listed on the bottel as a recommended dose. But then again i am not a doctor.
<19> is it safe to del a directory called $hf_mig$ ? i looked and it contains some windows service pack sub dirs called KB****
<15> he got **** upon?
<14> he's an idiot
<15> would appear so
