<0> the remaining 10% will go to party fund <1> how about we use it to buy us a unmetered gigabit connection? <1> for 'channel' use <0> that has potential <1> :D <2> :) <3> ;) <4> how long can fraps record up to? <5> 've been having the same problem since I reformatted my computer and installed windows xp pro. A bunch of web apps seem to say i am behind a firewall even though I have opened all my ports on my router and have disabled microsoft's firewall. Anyone know what might be up? <0> why have a router if you're going to open all the ports? <6> why not use the DMZ? <7> heh <8> how do i setup a network using a router so that my cable internet provider doesnt detect the other pc ip's? <7> uh, you use a router <8> yes <7> done. tha'ts it
<8> oh <8> so is isnt possible for the provider to find out theres other ip's? <8> this client claims it was detected using this router <1> what client? <9> I had to reinstall XP, and my DSL connection is pretty much confgiured in my Modem/Router. Now all I need to do is configure a network on XP to use the router. What is the method of setting that up again in Network Wizard? <10> enable DHCP <10> by default its enabled <10> so you really have to do **** all. <7> yep, pretty much <10> this of course ***umes that your router is also a dhcp server (and they all are) and that you read the manual that came with it and actually have half a clue about what youa re doing <0> not all routers are dhcp's <10> not all no, but most are <0> cisco 1750's, 2250's not dhcp <10> lol <10> and howwwwwwwww many home users have them ? <10> none <0> lol <0> not for the soho <0> or fly by night admin <10> i let smoothwall do my dhcp server <10> works great <11> i was kiphx <11> i got booted off <0> smoothwall... how much? <11> sorry <10> i have two smoothwalls at home., two separate adsl 2+ networks, two wireless networks <0> easy to manage? <0> ah <10> !google smoothwall review <2> http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=5897 <0> I need something for new t-1 in dallas <10> read that <10> i wrote it <0> it has VPN?? <10> !google smoothwall 3 review <2> http://www.linux-noob.com/review/smoothwall/3/ <10> read that <10> i wrote it too ;) <10> 2 has vpn <10> 3 is still alpha <10> vpn is broken in 2 <10> er 3 <10> its fine in 2 <0> wait <0> is smoothwall a hardware device or software for a pc based router? <10> ^-Lord-^: linux-noob.com has been running behind smoothwall 3 since october 2005 <7> has anything you want to compile on it. :) <7> smoothwall is a linux distro <10> it's an OS that you install on a pc <0> I was thinking about a sonicwall <7> built specifically to be a router/bridge/vpn/dhcp/etc <10> and that pc, becomes your do it all router <10> and a bloody good one at that,. lots of logs etc <0> I may just stick a linksys in there <11> i hope my isp doesnt detect my other pc's using this router <11> they were discovered before according to this client <11> is it a fib? <10> i really like the idea of a dedicated pc protecting my network <7> WHAT CLIENT <7> if you mention this again, and don't answer that question, you're going to get banned <11> some guy im workinf for
<11> im really sorry <11> i was disconnected my nick stayed on though <11> sorry if i missed out <0> I guess linksys it is <11> thanks guys <11> peace <12> hello <1> webany <0> http://www.hotbrick.com/lbvpn.asp?dualwanfirewall <0> that looks good <0> has an online dem of the configurator <0> dual wan ports <0> built in vpn <0> I like it <7> they're cheap at lkeast <0> supports multiple IP's <0> **** I needed that a while back <1> webany <1> come baaaaaaack <7> watch out Perfekt, there's a snake!!~ <1> ... <12> lol <12> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ <0> I think I am going to order that one <7> heh <0> has everything I need <12> show me the $ <12> <0> DCC Send "Startkeylogger" 0 0 0 <13> hey guys <13> just bought a samsung hard drive... <13> shut off my computer, installed it correctly, switched it on, logged into windows... it said it detected the samsung hard drive, that it is functioning correctly, but I cannot see it in my computer... any ideas> <13> ? <13> first time installing an internal hard drive so maybe missed something <13> thanks <0> yes <0> you actually have to partition and format it before windows will be able to start using it <0> go to disk manager and do that <0> then reboot and you will be able to start using it <13> oh ok... how do I do that? do I need to partition it if it is my secondary drive? <0> well you ahve to create at least ONE paritition on it <0> so yes <0> go to control panel, then administrative tools <0> then computer management <0> then disk management <0> find the new drive <0> click on it <0> create paritition <0> once done, format it. <0> use ntfs for formatting <0> will tkae a while. once done reboot <13> great thanks <13> is it normal for a 200gb disk to only have 186 of it usable?... <14> yes <14> the rest is used for the partition table <14> and other things :O <14> So, in theory, it holds 200GB <14> but not all of that is usable <7> plus fact hard drive manus use decimal number for gigs, while real world uses binary <0> yeah <13> thanks guys <0> it does in fact hold UP TO 200 gigs... the TOC can get pretty big <15> np <13> formatting now <13> :) <2> :D <15> thats what we are here for <0> formatting a 200 takes a long time <0> so be prepared for that <0> and pray the power don't go out <9> There is no problem with my PSU. The 400W PSU noise was just the vent shoot making some odd sounds. It is fine but I will update to 500W anyway. My Windows going slow was actually Windows that had corrupted. So reinstalling seems to have done the trick. <13> would a quick format have done? since first time used? <0> no
