<8> nerp: the MTP mode lets it be compatible with Windows Media based Subscription services like Napster To Go, Yahoo Unlimited To Go, Rhapsody To Go. (Janus is the term they use). It also works like a regular usb thumbdrive. you can even throw non-music files on it.
