<0> InFeDeL; corrupted file, buggy program that started choking with a newer windows system file, hardware problem, virus, etc etc etc <1> i wonder at what size of LCD monitor do they stop using edge-lit designs and start using multiple ccfl tubes behidn the screen <0> z0g^; they ave LCD's up to 37" now at least <0> oh, tubes. <0> not sure <1> Yeah and designs that large haev multiple tubes behind the screen, from what I saw of a dis***embled unit at the samsung booth at CES <1> samsung had LCD screens >50" on display there <0> i can't imagine how they coud make a single LCD element that large <0> phew <1> very carefully? :D <0> indeed, making one for show and tell is one thing, m*** producing them at an affordable cost point is something else entirely <2> If i created a whole new user account from previous admin user and then deleted old user would that have an effect on anything <3> Anus. <4> http://www.liquidgeneration.com/sabotage/optical_sabotage.swf <5> i need some help. I have a logitech quickcam and I can't get it work with MSN messenger. i can see the picture and hear the audio from the other end but they can't see me. what's wrong? <2> Ok im having a problem windows wont let nothing register or create keys anyone know how i can fix this
<0> InFeDeL; possibly a virus/trojan/spyware thing h*** mucked up your registry permissions. in regedit every key has a access control list that determines who has permissions to touch it <6> *virus/trojan/spyware/user :D <1> So. do they have summer olympics too? this is just winter games on now? <4> winter games this year, summer in 2 yrs <1> so it goes in 2 year cycles then? <7> they switched it to 2-year cycles in around 1990 I think <4> yea <7> used to be both games in the same year every 4 years <8> http://web.archive.org/web/20030612150659/http://bakla.net/ <8> BBS <8> thanks for dinner last sunday <7> but seriously, di dyou just ask if there were summer olympics? like at all? like you never knew? <8> dunno if we said thanks <8> send the thanks to the wife as well! <7> np, glad you had fun <1> bbs: im not very hip on sports. <7> there's a difference between "not very hip" and not knowing that the olympics exist :) <1> Hehe <7> nice loph <7> anyway, afk, have to get ready for a wedding <3> k. <3> Don't forget the ring. <1> bakla.net made me think of terrorists running down bakalakadaka street. <3> bahaha. <9> you know, I only want the best for my children, so I prefer a registered *** offender <1> Hah. <9> board certified. not some ametuer <9> amatuer <9> something <1> whoa. yahoo unlimited just added a gay radio station. <1> whatever that means. i guess alot of divas. <9> holy poo. almost 2pm already. I have to get out to buy a paint roller so I can finish this job <9> I took down these 4 shelves the previous owners left. ****ers used 10 screws into mollies for each bracket instead of two well places toggle bolts or similar. ****nuts <4> i am a lil hungover :( <1> Mollies? is that like a standard plastic cheap anchor? <1> Toggles are the best. <4> no, they're the ones that expand on the back of the wall <0> actually, a molly anchor is the original togglebolt <4> yea <0> If at all possible, I prefer driving long screws into the studs <1> Ahh. This clears it all up. http://www.naturalhandyman.com/iip/inffastener/infanchor/infanchor.shtm <8> 3no. this clears it up. <8> http://www.diyturbo.net/ot/walmart.jpg <9> I love toggles. but for hanging my tv I prefered the ones they included and I could find in a store when I moved it to the living room <1> huh <9> screws into metal studs, which are in more and more new places get you absolutely nowhere <9> toggles work well there too <9> since all you have to work with is basically sheet metal <10> what u talking about? <9> see, that page doesn't even have the neat ones that came with my tv <9> wall mounting hardware :) <10> ahh <10> metal studs? <10> ur not using wood studs? <9> yeah. as opposed to more common 2x4 studs <9> uhm, I'm not the builder :) <10> that ur job>? <9> no <10> im lost <9> I just live in a home <10> on laptop missed info
<9> where I had to wall mount stuff <10> metal studs are the new thing now :)_ <9> not a hard concept <9> yes. covered that <9> do you have an iLLNESS? <9> z0g^: I also like t-nuts for some stuff. <9> not wall mounting, obviously <4> Barsky, using the proper hardware, metal studs are fine for hanging things <9> http://www.stafast.com/products/tnuts.html <9> tedski: indeed <9> but a screw alone is not the proper hardware <4> Barsky, you can't screw into them with brute force and not expect the screw to spin out <4> sure it is man <9> exactly <9> you're making my point :) <4> no <9> drilling them and screwing in will still strip out <9> I ain't trusting that for hanging a 95lb tv <4> i'm saying, if you screw in the screw with the proper force (i.e. using a clutch) it will hold forever <4> and don't pre-drill <9> for a light picture or something, sure <9> I simply drilled a bigger hole and pushed a toggle bolt through it to know it is gonna stay up <4> that works too <9> duh <9> :) <4> i'm not saying you're wrong <9> well, if you'd trust a 100lb weight to screws in a metal stud, I am saying you're wrong :) <9> or a bigger risk taker than I am <10> just test it with a 500lb weight :) <11> I makded more beers <9> there was actually original wall under these 24"x1.5" brackets. just the lame builders paint coat. that area just ****ed up the paint like a sponge <4> your tv weighs 400 lbs, Barsky? <9> I bushed on a first coat <9> 400? <9> 100 <9> well, 95ish I think <4> well, 4 screws holding 100 lbs is only 25 lbs per screw <9> maybe it's 85 <4> i think i'd trust that <9> at any rate, I wouldn't trust it. the thing is too expensive to take chances when I can easily be sure it is never coming down <0> of course, don't' forget leverage. if the 100 lbs load is on any kind of offset, the force can be amplified. <0> worst case would be a swingarm or whatever <1> i wish i had some kinda adapter that let me hotplug IDE disks. I hate shutting down. <9> I like to be able to swivel it without worrying about the force <1> i can hotplug on my scsi so easily. <9> I just see no sense in taking any risk whatsoever <4> Barsky, i'm just trolling by now man <9> I know :) <9> so my board pres thinks there may be a way to have sat dishes on the roof and run cables down the place where the compressors up there com e down to my AC. from there I could easily go through the wall to the bedroom closet where my coax all junctions in here. <9> so, dumping comcast's *** is a possibility :( <9> :) <1> i had to hang a tv into a wall once, right behind the wall was concrete cinderblock. I managed to draw out the arrangement of the cinderblock so i could drill into the hollow part, used long long screws and big togglebolts to hold up a 45-degree supported L-bracket and toggle that into the wall, a platform on top for the TV. a 250 lb guy could hang on that thing :D <9> I mean <9> but, I think I will do nothing until I see those upcoming TiVo series 3 HD dual tuner with 2 cablecard slots <1> i want a three-tuner. <0> hey, ted... bmwscruz has a used dl650 <9> I bet they won't be any more $$$ than hd DirecTivos <9> z0g^: well, I'll have 2 of them. <0> $4895 <9> and networked <9> and show sharing most likely <9> and tivoweb again :) <9> and dump these crapola motorola hd DVRs and their ******* tvguide service <12> I got a speaker with left and right audio wire (old style).. is there anyway to hoo that speaker up to the PC? adapter of some sort? <12> j computers <0> likwid8 'old style' ? meaning speaker wire or RCA jacks? <1> Yeah. an amplifier usually is employed. <13> clipwires. probably no. better off connecting them to an amp/receiver and connecting the computer into the receiver. <0> if the 'old style' means RCA jacks, ten you just need a RCA to miniphone plug cable <9> these crazy college kids and their homemade riesin <1> Most amps/receivers will have bare wire inputs. Higher ends may accept banana plugs too, but if youre speaker is so old, just snip off any connector so you have bare wire to clip into the back of the receiver. <0> usually the miniphone to RCA cords have male, so you end up also needing two female-to-female RCA barrels <1> Most soundcards put out line-level output so you will need a receiver/amp. <1> unless they are amplified internally
