I have no idea. <0> also, foundstone has nifty resource utils. <1> http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Portmon.html <1> egg'sell'link <1> t <1> :) <0> Bingo. <0> I didn't even know he wrote that one. :) <1> off to read...thanks again! <0> Hey, you did the work :P <1> just needed a lead... <2> MmmMMmMmmm.. redecorated recently. <3> nerp is a metro***ual. <0> He's totally metro. <2> i'm in my office/lounge <2> i've got a single bed and my pc/desk in here <0> My spiffy new bright white two hole snap-in leviton wall plate with rj-45 and f-type is also snazzy. <2> niiice. <2> i just feel like.... the feng sheui is higher. <3> hahaha <0> Your sheui-fu is no match for mine. <2> i unconsciously start licking envelopes, paying bills, responding to emails, sorting through shiut <3> feng shui! snake oil bull****! <0> I have a power strip under the couch that I can slide out to power my laptop if it gets low. <0> HADOKEN !@* <2> naw, your environment is all about you mood man. <2> at least for me it is <0> what if your mood changes? <2> some palces just are not setup right.. i can't get **** done <0> will you burn the house down <0> ? <4> wtf do I get such a big delay when I click on a email link in thunderbird before the page loads in firefox?!? <2> other places i gotta pry myself out of and I'm steamrollin along all good <4> its like 10-15 seconds when both tbird and ffox are hung, then blam, loads the page <5> Mud It's calculating pi of the URL. <2> well skoal, life is like ergonomics. even the best mouse in the world won't make up for a wrist in need of rest <2> OMMMMMMMM <6> My brain is mushy <6> too much Houston. (going back to SD today) <2> My brain is.... hopefully free of tumors. <3> theres a decent bar just outside of downtown houston <3> 'the front porch' <3> i think it's called, not bad. <3> 35 or beers on tap <6> yeah, we went by there. <6> didn't stop, not really my kind of place, but I know where it is <6> I can walk there. <3> not quite divey enough for me, but i was only there a day <3> so it sufficed <6> hehe, not quite divey enough? <4> i hear there are some nice bars and clubs in austin ;-D <6> yeah, I think we're going out for different things :D <4> that woudl be far enough 'outside' of houston for me :D <3> so you stayed up on main st then? <6> actually <3> with all the "clubs" <3> funniest **** ever <3> in HOUSTON <3> VELVET ROPES <3> and LINES TO GET IN <6> "yeah", that's where I "normally" "go" <6> no, not downtown... I'm not into the clubs there (for the most part) <6> I'm talking about midtown/montrose area <0> I can see cody in a club with loud *** music talking to some sluts. they're like "SO WHAT DO YOU DO?" <0> "I SELL COMPUTERS" <0> "WHAT?" <0> "I SAID, I SELL COMPUTERS" <6> Red Door, Pub Fiction, Sherlocks (on west gray), Crom, Zims, The Flat, etc. <3> oh the red door! <3> right next to the iguana place <3> ate dinner there <6> Thirsty Cactus or something. <6> yeah, didn't we have this conversation?

STAT" <0> BETTER GET HIM FIRST CL*** TOO. I NEED HIM AWAKE! <8> amonfils, back to chicago? <8> we would totally have a #windows gathering <8> chitown style <0> STRONGER THAN ALL. <9> hey guys... <9> Installed a Belkin usb wireless adaptor... and now it's strange but it seems every time I boot up my machine... I have to manually start the "wireless zero configuration" service so windows can manage my connection to the wireless network... :( <10> any office apps able to export to EPF? <4> belkin's stuff is crap. they have no engineering at all, no usefull support. their products are generic chinese crap repackaged for retail <4> whats EPF ? <10> .epf <10> encapsulated postscript format <4> never heard of it, what format is that? <4> you mean EPS ? <10> that too <10> heh <10> where'd i get epf in my head, i dunno <4> you can configure a postscript printer driver to print to file, then capture a .PS file from it. <4> dunno if it will meet .EPS specs as its a print output <11> hmm have a windows 2003 server that will not access a smb share.. tried mapping to two smb servers.. um security mode of the windows server? <9> I'm getting that LOL... I spent ages last year trying to figure out why my brand new belkin ethernet adaptor card wouldn't work even after it had been replaced... then gave up and got the cheapo pc line model and it worked straight out of the box. <4> Tsu-; is this server and the machines its trying ot connect to all part of a domain ? <11> sorta.. the new 2003 machine is in domain B domain A is the original domain . The linux box is in domain A. Domain A and B are joined trusts. <9> this belkin adaptor isn't mine, getting myself an adaptor tomorrow. It's stupid, I'm using a usb2 carbus adaptor from belkin but windows can't recognise the wireless adaptor from the same bloody brand through it. <11> peerce: it won't give me a login/p***word box just as soon as i type \\ipofserver\share it errors immediately. <4> the Samba version of SMB isn't completely correct as its developed by reverse engineering. <4> one thing, new systems (2003, XP) don't even enable netbios by default, they prefer to use `microsoft-ds` on port tcp/445. <4> I dunno if samba supports that very well <11> yea the smb source is a mess.. :( seen that trying to fix a problem a year ago. <11> if i map by ip netbios shoudn't be involved.. then again you can outright disable it and you'll still find it on the wire. <4> and I have NO idea how well samba supports interdomain trusts. <4> uh, regardless of how you map, netbios-over-tcp uses a mess of ports 135/137/139 with tcp and udp, while microsoft-ds uses tcp/445 almost exclusively. <11> box linux boxes have iptables and firewall off. <11> going to look into the nbt. <5> LOLF. <6> later <12> hmm... at the local computer store I can get a cool little 8db directional antennae for 33 bucks. thining about just doing that <4> fawk, I'm pissed. replaced the trunk seal in my old volvo yesterday, even used gorillasnot to glue the new one in... it rains (hard!) last night, and this AM my trunk has a puddle of water in it :(((( <4> Slanter; what exactly are you trying to do here ? <12> I live in the 3rd floor of an apartment, and I want to use my D-link access point to tap into my friends network across the street <4> if he doesn't have a directional antenna pointed at you, its not going to work real well <12> and it works... its just REALLY touchy. like I have to find the perfect spot for the access point or else the connection ****s <12> I can get 2 mbps transfer speeds with my linksys access point, but it keeps losing all connection ability every fifteen minutes or so. <4> 8db directional sounds fishy. my high gain omni antennas are 9dB <12> the d-link works pretty well constantly, but at only like 500-800kbps <12> cause its only got one little antennae <12> how much are the 9db antennas? <4> here's a indoor directional... put it in front of a window facing him, not through the wall... http://www.streakwave.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=54&cat=Indoor
