<POTPlant> yes. <digidog> it seems once before i bought new **** and it wouldnt turn on/no power until i reseated the cpu <POTPlant> sorry :P <gravix> hi POTPlant <POTPlant> hey gravix <POTPlant> I'm trying to find out if anyone here plays Live For Speed <SD70MAC> No surveys. <POTPlant> i'm not doin a survey lol <POTPlant> I'm sick of playing with myself... <POTPlant> lol <pale_blue> that would be a survey. <SD70MAC> Actually, you are. <gravix> i'm sick of playing with myself too :( <POTPlant> lol <Aghaster> haha <pale_blue> you guys must be doing it wrong. i'm not sick of it yet. <SD70MAC> Yeah. Me either. <digidog> disgusting <gravix> i need one of those fake 'gina things <pale_blue> fleshlight? <SD70MAC> Make haste to your obtainage. <pale_blue> those look sorta creepy. <Hurz> holy**** its 11pm <gravix> what a baloon inside a flashlight? <pale_blue> and you're only about 15 minutes late on that revelation. <gravix> would that work? <gravix> i might try it <SD70MAC> Freak. <sartan> try getting out <sartan> and ****ing some pink <digidog> oh hell <digidog> does that thermal pad make the heatsink stick to the cpu? <sartan> just pick up some ugly chick at the bar. ugly chicks always want it <sartan> yes digidog <sartan> like glue <digidog> eek <sartan> it's designed to melt <digidog> well it hasnt been on <SD70MAC> Like cheese. <pale_blue> you took off the thermal pad?! <peerce> it should come off, but it will destroy the pad (they are single use anyways), and they are a bitch to clean off the chip and heatsink <digidog> ok <digidog> im not reseating this thing then <digidog> i cant imagine that is the problem, that would be dumb <Teratogen> WHERE is sAMOa? <SD70MAC> San Diego. <peerce> sandy eggo <Aghaster> eh <Aghaster> lol <peerce> its saturday night, he's probably out getting laid. <SD70MAC> Yeah. Like the Oompa Loompa pimp he is. <gravix> i don't want an ugly chick <gravix> i'd rather have a flashlight <pale_blue> so get a hot chick. ****in' duh. <SD70MAC> Biscuit? <gravix> maybe tomorrow <POTPlant> i bought two of those 1Gb sticks of ram <POTPlant> :) <sparr> Using Cedega to emulate Windows games in Linux each game gets its own entire (fake) windows installation, complete with a fresh directory structure and registry. This is amazingly useful in that games cannot interfere with each other, and perfectly complete uninstallation is as simple as deleting a folder. Is there any similar environment when running games natively in Windows? <sartan> no. <sartan> use linux <sartan> it's free anyway <sartan> sparr: on a more serious note <POTPlant> Ok. Does anyone play driving games alot, and use a Logitech Momo force feedback wheel? <sartan> windows Vista promises something similar <POTPlant> i wann know if they're good or not <|FATAL|> How will Intel for example know that I have OC'd the card? As in if I return it in for warranty, how will they know? If the CPU dies from something else than OCing <XTR> BAN SPARR. <sartan> mostly for legacy apps (anything before vista) <peerce> POTPlant; its nothing like really driving. <sparr> i do use linux, but ive been considering switching back to windows for gaming, if it had a sandbox system like cedega <sartan> |FATAL|: are you trying to cheat the <sartan> them <peerce> my kid has the logitech wheel that works on playstation or PC and has force feedback <POTPlant> peerce: when i wanna do that I hop into my lil S/C'd 1.8L lancer ;) <sartan> i'm a wintendo fan <peerce> with gas and brake pedal <SD70MAC> Heya XTR. <POTPlant> have u tried it out peerce? <|FATAL|> sartan no, just wanna know if I ever need to use the 3 year warranty <POTPlant> i mean have u had a chance? lol <sartan> |FATAL| you dont have much to worry about <peerce> briefly in GrandTurismo A-Spec, or something like that. <XTR> Oh hi Mea. <sartan> if the cpu flakes up due to overheating it will be either improper cooling or voltage o/c'ing <POTPlant> was it nice and responsive? <sartan> they'll know if it breaks due to OC/ing but if you send it back for other reasons theywill not <|FATAL|> oh cool. so OCing is not really that dangerous <peerce> driving the subaru 4x4 on the dirt track is fun. <gravix> driving games with a wheel is harder than with a stick <|FATAL|> I mean I have a zalman cooler (keeps it at a nice 54C during full load) <gravix> but it's more fun <|FATAL|> I have my 3.0Ghz running at 3.6 (960FSB @ 240) <POTPlant> yeh - my mate had a "off-it's-tits" Subaru forrester :) he uprated the turbo etc... went HAMMERS <peerce> i was looking at a '05 legend turbo wagon last night. <xsf04> SATA2 3.0Gb runs on 32bit architechture? <peerce> going... hmmmmm. that looks pretty nice. <POTPlant> I plan to play games such as Live For Speed and GTR FIA Racing, Colin McRae etc <peerce> xsf04; um, SATA2 has nothing to do with your CPU bit size <peerce> if your hardware supports SATA2 and your OS supports it, you get it. <gravix> no, you need 256-bit CPU for sata2 <SD70MAC> NO, BITCH. <xsf04> somehow I can't get my SATA2 to boot at 3.0Gb Windows... my board supports sata2... <xsf04> it works fine at 1.5gb <SD70MAC> Your SATA 2 what? <peerce> you may need XP drivers for the SATA controller <peerce> what board is this? <digidog> OMG <SD70MAC> Bored of Education. <digidog> i just pulled a PSU from another computer <digidog> works fine <digidog> this PSU that is in here is brand new to replace another buisted one <digidog> frys ****s <digidog> think i cna run an athlon 64 3200 on a 250 watt psu? <Segmental> id suggest at least 350 <digidog> i dont have a 350 right now <digidog> well wait <digidog> lemme try soething <digidog> well no <Segmental> -SNAPCRACKLEPOP- *FIRE STARTS* <gravix> MORE POWER! <Segmental> lol <Segmental> j/k <digidog> i mean what is the worst that will happen running it with a 250 watt cpu? <digidog> er <digidog> psu <gravix> random crashes <digidog> i can deal with that as im replaces the psu tomorrow <Segmental> instability up the butt <digidog> i just need it on a 250 watt for the night <gravix> don't add any peripherals <digidog> im not <gravix> no usb stuff, no dvd-r, etc <|FATAL|> oh cool. so OCing is not really that dangerous <gravix> no, only overvolting <|FATAL|> cool. I never touch the volts, I just set it to auto <|FATAL|> So it doesnt shorten the lifespan of the CPU <gravix> well auto will overvolt <gravix> probably <|FATAL|> Cuz I have another P4 3.0Ghz and its still living after 3 years, cuz I never OC'd <|FATAL|> whats a stable voltage for this. <|FATAL|> P4 3.0Ghz 530J <CrazyD> no more dam patriots dynasty: priceless. <|FATAL|> right now its at 1.43 (Auto mode) <gravix> the higher you overclock the higher the voltage will need to be for stability <Thuryn> and the better the heatsink/fan will need to be <|FATAL|> Well 3.6 is enough for me, and Ill stick to it...but u said auto is not a good setting <gravix> CPUs rarely break, in fact i have never encountered a broken one <|FATAL|> *for voltage
