<0> about 20 seconds
<1> you wanna buy a router and support it at all of our employee's houses ?
<2> FKnight`: ah from what you were saying - "End user" I thought it was.
<3> FKnight`, why not? Cisco 3002 designed just for that
<2> cisco vpn clinet.
<2> windows vpn client even
<0> sartan likes pixen
<2> yeah i do.
<1> oh the cisco vpn client that cuts off your LOCAL LAN when you VPN in
<1> no thanks
<3> there are other routers with VPN client built in. pre-configure them
<0> he puts the wrong IP addresses in for endpoints and wonders why it wont connect for days on end
<2> i hope i find a new job that lets me play with pix and stuff.
<3> FKnight`, you can configure around that
<0> ;o)
<2> imma put pix, switches, bgp on my resume.

<2> yeah thats it
<1> Thuryn: without end-user's having to be IT experts?
<2> sartans resume.doc = three words
<4> hello. does outlook have a filter that looks for a sendto address and re-direct it to null? i'm not set up with outlook but am searching for an email app that will do that
<3> FKnight`, yup
<1> cool, I'll email my cisco guy tomorrow then :D
<3> FKnight`, you don't have to have them do a THING (as long as you can term into the box)
<3> FKnight`, here's how you do it:
<1> terminal server into their home computers?
<1> that ain't happening
<0> router
<5> !google Adaptec AIC-7890 manual
<3> okay, then they have to do *one* thing
<3> FKnight`, what VPN concentrator are you using? Cisco 3000?
<1> Microsoft Routing and Remote Access
<1> which is perfectly fine
<2> rras is okay
<3> FKnight`, if it was perfectly fine, why do you feel the need to tell us that it's perfectly fine? ;)
<1> will the cisco vpn client flip IE proxy settings on connect and disconnect?
<0> no
<1> I need to be able to do that
<1> CMAK does that
<2> you need to tinker with gateway sessions
<2> </random>
<3> FKnight`, to get the Cisco client to allow access to the local LAN, you launch the client, click on the profile, click the Modify button, click the Transport tab, check the "Allow Local LAN Access" check box, click OK. Done.
<0> ahahahaha
<0> http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4435593179243241083&q=fall+out
<1> Thuryn slick
<3> FKnight`, i don't know how the Crisco client works with an MS RRAS server, though. I've never used it that way before.
<2> nabisco
<2> it works fine/.
<2> I dont know ive never used it
<1> standard ipsec or pptp crap
<1> so it should work
<2> client vpns aren't my thing
<6> Problem not really related to windows: I have an Intel 1GHZ .. with 2 80gb hard drives. Now I took this 2.8 AMD computer, took out the hard drives, and connected the Primary HD from the intel pc to the AMD.. bios shows primary boot is HD (the 80 gb that i connected) but when I boot up it shows a bunch od 0's and 1's .. anyone know why ?
<3> with the cisco 3000 concentrator, you also have to configure the VPN group to ALLOW the user to make use of that checkbox (the concentrator can override it)
<1> Thuryn that's kinda cool
<2> ZuluNut: That's called BINARY. Your computer 'talks' to itself in BINARY, which is made up of zeros and ones.
<6> yeah I know
<2> ZuluNut: And to not be an ***: Does it start with 'LILO 4.2 010101000101001001'
<6> why does it show binary code and not boot up to windows
<6> No but Lilo is the boot master
<6> ohhhhhhhhhhhhh i know why :)
<3> heh
<2> yeah there ya go
<6> cuz the other hd had the lilo
<3> LILO is foo
<7> CrazyD: not to null, but you can send it to trash
<6> anyway I can runover Lilo ?
<2> ZuluNut: Yeah, you can boot with the windows xp or windows 2k cD into recovery mode
<2> and initiate the 'fixmbr' command for the drive
<6> sartan and then what ?
<3> then you're done
<6> and it would fix the MBR ?
<2> Yeah. That should do it in a few simple steps, ZuluNut.
<6> hmm ok
<6> lemme try mate
<2> although you can expect to bsod on boot
<2> changing motherboards doesnt sit well with windows
<0> you can do it

<8> yeah
<8> its a pain
<0> theres a kb article on it
<1> we should just ****ing get citrix
<1> then people can web browse via terminal services
<8> heh
<0> thats what we do mang
<0> iexplore locally goes to only one place
<0> our extranet
<0> then we use the citrix sharepoint webpart
<0> bam
<0> headshot
<1> heheeh
<0> citrix is really concentrating on webapps over ica
<2> the age of aquarius
<2> i need that song
<9> Venkat; AIC 7890 is a scsi controller, not a RAID
<9> adaptec raid is like AAC something
<2> aac yeah
<2> aic9xx
<2> x
<2> </linuxdriver>
<10> i miss efnetradio.
<0> wow
<0> someone JUST asked me about that today
<2> yes the sun IS bright
<9> if you're using webapps, wtf do you need terminal services or citrix for?
<0> centralizsed control of the browser
<9> thats incredibly lame
<0> i need to get efnetradio back up
<0> its incredibly wonderful
<2> ill admin it!
<2> and put warez on it
<10> somebody was asking me if i could find some particular albums, and i thought what he was asking for might be on there.
<1> ** TIPS
<1> The autoconfig file can be output by a CGI script. This is useful e.g. when making the autoconfig file act differently based on the client IP address (the REMOTE_ADDR environment variable in CGI).
<1> HMMMM
<0> well i have to buy the drives first
<2> FKnight`: is this homegrown stuff
<0> i need 3 400GB drives
<1> Proxy Auto Configuration files?
<1> no, that's a standard dude :D
<10> oof.
<0> i could get away with two and leave out all the bootleg ****
<1> outputting the autoconfig from the web server via a cgi script will work
<1> I can dynamically generate the autoconfig script based on what the web server serving the autoconfig script sees as the clien tIP
<2> uh huh
<2> that makes sense
<1> that way I don't have to embed the logic into the script
<1> that's slick
<1> just in the CGI
<1> beautiful
<2> whtismyip.com !
<1> I use ipchicken :D
<2> or my favoirte ipchicken.com
<0> i was about to say
<11> ****. I'M STILL AT WERK.
<2> i fouind that one on the million dollar homepage
<0> end users like ipchicken
<1> ipchicken is easier to type too
<1> and say over the phone
<0> they can spell the chicken part
<0> eyepeechicken
<10> i wrote my own stupid CGI IP identifier script.
<1> if you say "whatismyip" someone will either put spaces or ask how to spell it
<1> they show a chicken too :D
<1> that rocks
<2> www.you****atlife.com
<3> i guess people use that to find out the outside address on their routers?
<1> yeah
<3> (w/o logging into the router itself)
<10> http://24.3.124.52:8086/cgi-bin/myip.pl <-= 100% poultry free.
<5> so if i buy a raid controller scsi or sata from any company there all a different in configuring?
<2> i had one of those
